- He should've just finished the lap

The turn 16 mistake was not that bad, maybe 0.2-3 seconds, but that lift wouldve killed his run down the straight. Maybe 0.5-0.8 seconds. He almost certainly wouldnt have made it to q2 after the lift. I agree he shouldve still crossed the line, even if its a 1% chance, why not try?
exactly my point. Lando shouldve at least crossed the line.
I mean Max has a big moment in t16 during q3 I believe and he still had a decent time, I think Lando had a chance
Even if he finished his lap, it would've been deleted bcoz he crossed the white line with all 4 tyres.
Let me tell you why not; This is so Lando, he loses his hope very quickly in almost every situation like this. You can go check past incidents, he always feels he is on the loosing side and plays his losing role as if he has to. I think he thinks it is his destiny. Of course not and he has to push in every circumstances. He needs mental coaching or some sort as long I watch him in F1.
@@volkan_youtube You gotta feel for the kid, he is obviously quick and a good talent, just needs to fight that mental block, and the constant mental battle that he seems to be dealing with.
I don't understand how people claim they were white flags when "YELLOW FLAG SECTOR 3" showed up on the broadcast at the exact time Lando would be going through there. Also I disagree with the claim it only would've been a half second loss, he downshifted twice, and wouldve carried that all the way back to the flag, it would've been over a second imo
The footage of Lando from in front of him at turn 16 shows he went off track limits and the yellow flag did nothing as his lap time would be deleted
Bro went wide
Bro went w i d e
ok bro, cool story bro, tell me more bro, what a bro.
Lando facing the same pressure Leclrec was facing back in ealry races of 2023. Point is Leclrec came out a better driver from back then. Norris just needs time to learn how to handle championship pressure. I hope he can utilize the remaining races to that effect.
More than likely just gonna take all the engine penalties now and start from the back and that will help later In The season
that's the smart thing to do, but mclaren havent been making the best decisions lately
Agree with the conclusion that he should have completed the lap. But who knows if he tried to chicken out of the situation. I mean strategically also saving extra set of soft won’t matter tomorrow because it’s gonna be one stopper anyways.
I know nothing about this situation but I watched all of this anyways lol, you're a gifted and clear communicator/storyteller, all the best to you & I hope your channel blows up
thanks man!
Even if he had crossed the finish line, the lap time anyway would have been deleted because of the yellow flag. So it was very very unfortunate for him. Alpine really screwed him over.
Is this an old rule? Norris was complaint with the yellow flag rules so why would his lap time be deleted? We saw plenty of drivers completing their hot laps while other sectors were yellow flagged but none of them had their lap times deleted. Are you saying its because Norris was in Sector 3 when yellow flags came out?
@@prashastjaipurkar2952 yea, norris was in the sector that was yellow flagged. I am not sure if it's a old rule or a new one... but that's what they were doing yesterday, many lap times were deleted, but fortunately no important lap was deleted.
Everyone blaming Ocon when it was the Renault engine that gave out. Somebody buy Alpine already....
hey bro do me a favour - when lando passses thru the blank first yellow that went out - 2 lights flash up on the left before the rev counter. What colour are these. Then they go out again? EDIT: looks like somethings just in the way of the rev counter. Interested cos lando keeps saying he got yellows on the dash but i dont see it
Unlucky timing and that he lifted correctly
Bro...not gonna lie...thats pretty scientific
The thing is, if Lando would have improved his time under yellow, what do you think would have happened?
drivers have done it before. idk. at worst he probably wouldve gotten a grid penalty, which wouldve been better than p17 lol
@@TheMugelloFan time gets deleted mate.
@@g3n3ralkim23 yeah youre probably right. in my mind im thinking Lando makes it through and the incident doesn't get investigated until after the session
Get your banker lap in if you want to be a WDC. Lando aint it.
T16 mistake was catastrophic and shouldn't be underestimated considering how much time you loose down the straight as a result- probably in excess of 7 tenths.
yeah its a big mistake. i think the baku straight is the second longest straight on the calendar. I think the las vegas strip is the only one longer
here is a like and a comment :)
thank you for the like and the comment :)
These r british crap trying so hard to make lando championship material or trying to get him in the contention😂😂, if I have to put money I will put on Charles in DC, but of course max will win it no matter what
also the FIA mess up, that should be a white flag and not yellow.
lando should have cross the line 100%!
if you go to the website F1 Tempo you can see the data of the incident and looking there you can see that in T16 he actually gained 1 tenth on Alonso who was the slowest driver to get through into Q2. He was about 9 tenths up on Alonso before he lifted for Yellows but he lost a good 1.5 seconds with the lift he did so there was no way for Lando to get through with that.
I checked Ocons onboard to see if i can tell the color and at the same time the screen starts flashing(cant tell the color) a yellow warning pops up on Ocons wheel which i believe means there was in fact a yellow flag there, and lando says he saw one. My conclusion is turn 16 would have been fine but he was cooked from having to lift for the yellow after that.
yeah. i think the combination of both things happening screwed him
The poms will complain like they usually do but it's irrelevant. His lap was horrible anyway wasn't getting out of Q1 regardless.
The yellow is on the steering wheel, not only on the side board lights. If you had more education in f1 then you would know that. Study more before you make your videos 😂be a real fan, not a RUclips specialist
Im a driver coach & mentor
Thanks for the onboard!
So he didnt even pass through a yellow zone? The first went out when he got there, the second went green!
Thats the first thing
The second is that under a yellow, a lift would suffice and he still coulda made it thru
Conclusion: lando cooked this
His T16 skateboarding on the curb lost him alot of time and he got cooked by yellow flags, and as someone else mentioned, he would’ve likely had lap times deleted due to track limits even if he made it to the line
@@srthebox4946so what, he should have gone for anyways, u never know, HE shouldn't have quited, let FIA have decided it. Even if i love Lando as a person and not happy to tell but he is a quiter 😢 He loses his hope instantly contrary to what an F1 driver should be.
@@volkan_youtube yeah this is bang on.
estenba ocno god bless you sir
Lando is using the yellow flag incident as a cover up for his bottle job. I blame both Lando and Mclaren for sending the drivers so late on scrubbed tyres when the track was supposed to evolve and possibility of yellow and red flags.
t16 would have likely gotten the lap deleted
Yea, he barely leaves the whitelines
@@srthebox4946 imo, i don't think the lap time should've been deleted if he finished the lap due to the fact he already lost time going that wide, but this is the fia we're talking about
@@mirexgd they don’t care abt whether youve lost time, if you leave the white lines then your lap time is deleted I believe
