What a lovely film, and beautiful music. In the summer of 1965 as an eight-year-old I stayed at the St Andrew's guest house overlooking the harbour, clearly visible in this film, with my parents and elder sister.
Thank you for posting. What a fabulous glimpse back into the 1960s. We holidayed in Folkestone for three weeks every summer from 1964 to 1969. I'd completely forgotten about the rotating flower display and wished the camera had continued to pan from the harbour to the wonderful Pavilion Hotel adjacent. I know Folkestone commenced into terrible decline early 1970s onwards, but glad to hear that is gradually improving, even if a lot of very fine Victorian and Edwardian buildings have been lost in favour of very poor replacements. Must give it a revisit.

Thank you for sharing that wonderful cine film.
I have so many happy memories of going on holiday in Folkestone in the late 60s and all of the’70s
I took the boat-train from Havre to Folkstone back in the early 1960's. You had a wonderful sea-side town. Today? Based on what I have seen....sorry.
I think this is a 60’s-70’s mashup. The “Number 1 The Leas” building wasn’t completed until 1971
it doesn't look much different to be honest lol
