1. Firstly Go to Google Maps - console.cloud....
2. Sign In with your Google account and agree to the terms and conditions
3. Create a project and name it as you want
4. Select the project and click on it
5. Navigate to APIs and Services and click on Libraries
6. Enable the following Libraries one by one
1. Google Javascript API
2. Google Place API
3. Google Direction API
4. Google Geolocation API
5. Google Geocoding API
7. Navigate to APIs and Services and click on Credentials
8. Click on Create Credentials and then the API key and it will show up a screen with API Key
9. Now you can optionally restrict the API key.

No, it is free he had said when creating the API key in credentials to put in your domain name but doing that actually restricts that website so to solve this make a new API key and do not list your website
May I ask what's the purpose of enabling the different types of API (e.g. directions API, geocoding API) before creating an API key? Because personally, I have created an API key first without enabling the different types of API. Hope to seek your clarification on this, thanks!
The token will only authorize you, and with that token you can only access services that are enabled
If you're sharing your account with a team of people, maybe you only want to expose certain API's to certain people.

doesn't work, google requires a credit card number for an api key to be activated now. The page also says nothing about any free usage (I literally only need like 6 queries a day max...)
ended up making my-own api for my state only, working great. Considering expanding it to nation wide, hosting, and running a much cheaper service than I see online for it.

It has a free trial but it says we must enable API and "we've to create a billing account first in order to actually use it" Is there any way to deal with this I mean API gets enabled but in order to get the API key from credentials you need to create a billing account
