I’ve been waiting for this review!!! Thank you for really getting in depth here, I’ve been on the fence but not anymore. This sounds right up my alley.
Love your enthusiasm. What a great review! As a classical musician who had the good fortune to play Mozart's requiem with an orchestra as a lonely French horn player sitting in the back, I really love this game, but being a musician clearly doesn't help since I've yet to win. Great job, thank you! When playing this game it seems to me, in one sense, that what you're doing with the top 2 sections is telling the story of how you earned the money and the reputation among Mozarts fellow composers and students to help Costonza finish the bottom row, the requiem itself; which is the only part of the game that takes place in the present. I may be misinterpreting things but that's how it seems to me.
Great video on a great game. A few thoughts and observations: Balance - I totally agree about how balanced the game is. The last couple plays in our group ended 78-75-75 and all four of us being eight points apart. Strategy - I think it is best to increase income early in the game so you can afford the fourth and fifth movements of the Requiem (which reduce income) later. Tactics - I usually delay buying Memory cards until turn 2. Getting turn 1 Memory cards provides more resources but turn 2 and on provide things like more actions and victory points (always important in a game this well-balanced). Game on!!
This is on my radar but even on amazon it’s over 70$ so I’ll wait for a sale. It is a theme I really dig though, so sooner or later it might end up in my collection!
Solid choice. I don't find the theme to be loose at all, as some people seem to think.

You are so welcome!
Wonderful review - thank you! The comparison to Obsession and the discussion of the solo mode were so helpful. It’s going on my list of wants…
Awesome, thank you!

You nailed it:) And I, too, wish that being musically inclined helped you in this game!
Yes thats exactly it, when seen like that it makes sense.
Great choice! I completely agree.
I tried to link my FAQ (that I think you referred to) but RUclips doesn't allow that in the comments.
I'll include it in the description! Thanks for the reminder:)

Nice tips! I agree about the income and purse advancement. Very important!
In my early games I wasn't starting the game with my income on 2. 🙄 When I realised I should that made those 4th and 5th movements a little easier. 😃
Oh, yeah! If you start at the bottom of that track, then that's really hard to get your engine running.
This looks amazing! I have also looked into Obsession but it's a bit pricey at the moment.
Darn those price tags...
@@TabletopTolson I know, right? Why can't game publishers just give them away for free?

I’m listening
So game of the year for 2022? Or are you calling it for 2023...
Obsessed with obsession 🤣😂🤣😂
It's for 2022:)
Let me guess, you're an elementary school teacher
