Your right about the silver wearing down after time. I’ve got a silver armour that’s an edc with a double jet flame in it and I’ve also got a handmade silver zippo that’s over 3 ounces with an arc plasma insert. The cam spring was starting to wear a groove in the lid so I had to stop using it. I’m gutted about that because it’ll only ever be an ornament. The zippo armour is easily scratched but zippos should look lived in. I don’t put it in the same pocket as coins or keys.
Great video! I love anything silver and have been searching for a silver cigarette lighter for ages. Not that I smoke or whatever, but I do things from time to time that require a lighter, and so I like to keep one around - and if I was gonna keep one around, I wanted it to be a nice one, y'know? So anyway... I finally landed one! A solid silver sterling ZIPPO. It's the 1937 art-deco reissue with the corner-slashes, and I absolutely love it. It's a total gem to own.
I am going to get one of the Silver Plated Armor Zippo's for EDC. Maybe a solid silver Zippo for when I dress up in my fines for an occasion. The Sterling Silver Vintage with Slashes is nice but i may go for the Sterling Silver Herringbone Filigree Design.
A silver one can be buffed back to new again by a jeweler with the right buffing machine and polish compound. A chrome plated one can't. I wish I had a nickel for every piece of jewelry I refurbished on my job over 25 years.
Will the butane insert fit this? I’m on the fence about which to get. I either want the armor, 41, or standard. Probably not going to run the butane anytime soon but i want the option. Also may have a paisley pattern engraved down the line so armor would make sense but not sure if that insert will fit. Also a little worried about the weight as it will be my daily carry. So torn on what to get lol also debating the copper with black insert and i could get that and a standard for the price or the armor silver.
Wear off? What? The sterling silver zippos are solid so nothing is wearing off except the finish which most people prefer tarnishing it. It also seems like it should be at least an oz and more if it's an armor. The entire shell is silver and while it's not stupid heavy or anything it does have a little heft.
They're good for pelting devils and the like, but you could also just bring some holy water and save a bundle. You're basically paying for the convenience of not having to run around with a bottle of finite holy water all night.
@@comradetman3784 it’s 160$ plus on eBay rn. Some say it’s Armageddon currently. It really is shinning like sterling . Ima get one . That’s a trophy piece Fsho.
@@comradetman3784 I’m wondering if you can answer this. I have three classic Zippos in high polish brass, high polish chrome , and antique copper. The hinge on them have chamfer. I have two, armor high polish brass and tumbled brass. The hinge on the armor do not have chamfer. Can you tell me why that is ? Id appreciate it very much big bro.
@@erichan6985 yes , this is because on those three they are polished except for the antique copper , that they gotta polish it to put plating on , on tumbled brass armor , I have the same one and it’s the same as yours , the hinge has no angle to it whatsoever , it’s the process in that they polish them that does it I think ,

Silver is a soft metal, but I did not think it would show ware as fast as this one is!
I wish it was only $300, as of today 5/4/22 it's $405.
12 August 2022 the price is CAD$397 .
Mine was produced in 2002 H.
Not on Amazon
eBay
In Germany this zippo costs over 500 €
On the zippo website
You should check eBay my guy , that’s way overpriced , granted it is an import
...today, they claim €399.- ($ 432.- with Tax) - ridiculous! 👎
My one only silver zippo
Awesome zippo have to get one

I will only buy a silver Zippo and keep it in the box only while I use my cheaper zippos.

What I meant is silver wears off over time as you carry it in your pocket but the wear is minimal
@@comradetman3784 yeah it's pretty negligible and you can always polish it up if it doesn't tarnish like you want. I do get what you meant though.
What’s the (bag?) trick that you’ve mentioned a few times?
It’s where you take a zip lock bag , cut the corner off to put on your insert then put the insert back in the zippo case
a sterling silver lighter should never be carried i a pockets with coins come on man

Yes. Keep it and Don’t use it til Armageddon.
I mean I’m using it rn , but it’s still and always will be a higher priced zippo
