- The southern California rock band, Dawes, joins “CBS Saturday Mornings” fresh off the heels of releasing their much-anticipated eighth studio album, “Misadventures of Doomscroller.” For “Saturday Sessions,” Dawes performs "Someone Else’s Café/Doomscroller Tries To Relax" - which is potentially the longest song ever played on a network television broadcast.

This performance now holds the Guinness world record for the longest song to ever be performed on TV. I absolutely love this song and agree, thanks to CBS for letting them play it as it was written! Cheers to Dawes, one of our favorite bands since their debut album in 2009.

Imagine being asked to perform a nearly 11 minute long song on TV, and having everyone captivated. That's the dream right there. Fantastic song from a very good album.

Concept albums are alive and well, which is more than wonderful to see and hear.
Speaking of hearing, I heard a bit of Dead influence, (not just in the record shattering longest song on Network TV), but that old (late 70's early 80's) "Dr. Q-like" Envelope Filtered guitar part reminded me of Jerry and that soothing Terrapin Station mood groove!
Well done Lads from Southern California. And haven't we all been in "Someone Else's Cafe" at various stages of our lives? Even worked there.

I finally got to see them March 16, 2023 - they got rained out at the Xponential festival in 2015 (I missed them when they came back in 2018), then they had to cancel a few years ago. Great, great show at the Fillmore in Philly.

CBS needs to improve their mixing. Very bland mix with no high end in the vocals. Dawes did great though!
