I started learning Linux in class 8 before diving into depths of programming. And sir whatever you said is absolutely true. Each and every programmer should have knowledge of the shell commands and Linux filesystem. It really helps us programmers in future.
Ubuntu installation is pretty simple nowadays. I used to get scared from the installation process so I never installed Linux. But when I brought a new laptop I read a lot of articles on how to install Ubuntu and then finally installed it and I am glad to say that I am a happy Linux user. I also want to mention that using CLI for doing different tasks just makes you a bit more confident as a developer.
I learnt Linux just after completing my board exams in 2017 before joining college. I took the RHCE course. It was my father's decision and one of the best decision that he took. My efficiency owes a lot to my Linux knowledge.
@Ravi Sahu Just delete the root partition using gparted( GUI ) or gdisk ( command line ) and create a bootable disk of Kali Linux and install it . Use "lsblk" command to check which partition is your root partition, be careful while playing with partitions and backup all your data .
