@mozabique here m - Hetman Masepa had promised to Charles XII full support, provision, food and an army of 50 thousand Ukrainian Cossacks. That was the main reason Charles had entered to Ukrainian (Malo-Russian) territory and the main reason of the Swedish defeat in the battle of Poltava. Without belief in Ukrainian help Charles would not enter in Russia's territory with so small army without artillery and ammunition.
But only 3 thousand cossacks had joined Masepa in his betrayal. All other cossacks stayed neutral or loyal to Russia, Peter the Great, and new hetman Skoropadsky. Swedish army, without ammunition, food, guns, and bullets had met fully equipped 3 times bigger Russian army. And Swedish army had been totally exterminated in the battles of Lesnaya and Poltava.
After the extermination of the Swedish Carolean Army Swedish human resources had been totally exhausted. Sweden was unable to continue strategic operations on the land. Moreover, unions Denmark-Norway and Poland-Lithuania had join Russia in the war against Sweden again.
Thank You, Ukrainians, for helping us in the extermination of the main Swedish Army and the destruction of Swedish Empire.
Swedish Empire had died in the Battle of Poltava. Russian Empire had born in the Battle of Poltava.

Furthermore, Ukrainian UPA is responsible for the slaughter of Poles in Volhynia. Bandera is their current hero who corroborated with the Nazis and was complicit in the holocaust of Jews in Lviv. If Ukraine wants sympathy, it needs to get with the program that Nazis are evil and shouldn't be celebrated. If it wants to be friends with Nazis, then disdain is all it deserves.
But it should be a platform for freedom of expression. If people choose to express themselves by being disrepectful, one would assume the community in the comments section would call them out on it. Or report them if they are being particularly vile.
Ukrainian history is stupid. It longs 30 years and all 30 years their leaders were just making money and continue to do so while people suffer.

.....38% of the Ukrainian population speak Russian and the Donbas conflict is just about the Russian speaking Oblasts do not want their cultural identity to be second class. As for as NATO and the EUSSR is concerned , the EU elites will not allow that as they are financially collapsing and as for NATO membership, that is a Russian " red line" and Moscow will not allow that in a million years. Russia has given Ukraine most of the land it has now and they will not just allow Kyiv to do as they please . Russia is a major Nuclear power unlike Denmark or Moldova !

I am struck at the irony, that the forces here proudly marching to celebrate Ukraini independence, are today fighting to preserve what their greedy former slavemaster refused to leave alone. I suppose it takes 50 years, in the eyes of some. The United States had to fight ors former colonial ruler around the 30 year mark, and prevailed, by the determination of the People, of foreign volunteers, and of their President, who was, on duty in the field with forces defending her Capitol. May Ulraine live independently for hundreds of years, also, after a victory that such courage deserves.
