To this day Black on Both Sides is still one of my fav albums......Mos Def bought something refreshing to the game when he stepped in!
Facts still heavy in rotation on my playlist in 2019!
Everyday in 2021
This album is only second to Liquid Swords
I'm a rock n roll boy but I listened to black on both sides at a friend's house when the album came out and seriously it changed my music taste forever I still listen to it all the time ,it's one of the best
Without a doubt classic. It’s been downloaded on my phone for a long time. One of those albums that plays start to finish every time!!!!
Guitarist was going crazy, Dante controlling the mic, Common, Fred, Kweli, Quest goin hammer… just love the blackness!
So inspiring I always listen to this song when I need some inspiration.
charlita25 muito boa canção! não consigo parar de a ouvir.
Same here...
Me too sis. #donesingingandtalkingthough
I am listening to it now for that reason
Shine your light for the world to see ❤🌍🌏🌎
Shine your light on the world.
Love that.
Just stop and imagine if 2Pac lived and was present at this block party event. Self-preservation is key my melanated brethren & sistren + allies/adjacents. Stay woke, no matter what negative connotation they try to pin to it. Consciousness is NEVER a bad thing.
Pac lost his mind long before he lost his life
Man, you can feel the vibe coming through the screen. If I was watching live the vibe would just be too much. Umi Says is a powerful track!
I had the album for this live set.. it's everything!
I bought Black On Both Sides on vinyl at my local record shop for $70 so worth it❤️
J. Cole is in the Crowd at 4:01 s/o to Gary Owens for spotting that
Only the third person on RUclips I know actually gave credit
I love Mos Def❤
Forget for a second about the bars that was rapped, or the vocals served at this event can we talk about the live band they ATE
Wow what a coincidence, I was watching funny clips of Dave Chapelle hours and hours ago and for the past half hour I was listening to Mos Def and I stumbled upon this video with them together!! YEEESSS!!!
Ain’t no coincidence, bruh. You manifested that. We all are creating everyday, even when we consciously don’t know it. It’s like your Higher Self brought that together.
im not black, but i cry everytime i hear that song. I feel you all the way over here, yasin!
Lyrics are great ... but that bass line is killing'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Maintaining the groove!
K Jones EXACTLY!!! Whoever it is!!!
I think it's Adam Blackstone

I'm certain that seeing and hearing this brilliant concert inspired J Cole in ways that the world wasn't expecting. You can hear the influence of these artists in his music today.Little did the world know who was in the audience that night.

haha you think that is just an accident?
no way they did that on purpose
CUZ EVERYBODY SHOULD BE UNITED! ;)
20 people have NO SOUL! Very apropos for 2020!
Not trying to start a coastal war. But U can't get a vibe like this from the West. I'm sorry.
Phillip Thats cause in LA we have our own sound, our own lingo, we like to think our sound is funky af
Phillip you don't think dudes like Cube, Snoop, and 2Pac wouldn't be able to "vibe" at this concert?
They would've torn the roof off (even tho they were outside)!
Magik arp This wasn't about turning it up or amping a crowd. You could bump this shit at a funeral. This the type of shit that makes me proud to be Black. I like gangsta shit too-no doubt. But this brings up the property value. IMO.
haha i guess you're right about the property value.
I''m from Chicago and I don't think the west and the east can get bluesy, soulful, and jazzy like us...
Rap is so ignorant now. Wtf happened?
He didn't mention Imam Jamil Al-Amin by name like he did the other political prisoners.😢
I was when Dave Chappelle was a real man now not so
I'm certain that seeing and hearing this brilliant concert inspired J Cole in ways that the world wasn't expecting. You can hear the influence of these artists in his music today.Little did the world know who was in the audience that night.
Was that really him in the front row?
@@brianleifer1327 Yes it is, a very young J Cole.
