Beautiful video - I would love to be able to visit these sites during their prime! I wonder what happened to the statue on the pedestal - is it in a museum or was it looted and sold?
Where did the top of this go? All the pillars are gone down to the first drum. Is it that these were looted and then either reused in some other building by the Romans, Medieval Italians or the re-discoverers of Pompeii? Do we know where looted architectural elements wound up? Were they burned for lime? Yikes.
I would do anything to be able to witness these ancient sites in their hay-day.
