It's funny. I am Italian (born/raised in Italy). I spent 6 months in the New York on a university exchange program and people were telling me: "it's strange, you look normal, you don't look Italian". I answered: why shouldn't Italian be normal and what an Italian looks like? Then they mentioned Jersey shore and the Sopranos.
The first time I saw those videos I couldn't stop laughing.
In reality, this are very very very American sub-cultures. I am not judging. There's sub-cultures in Italy too, but they're completely different and most importantly don't reflect the average Italian.

i've been to italy and i saw a lot of immigrants there. i see in the news from time to time the endavour of illegal immigrants to enter italy by boats or by presenting themself as immigrants. i know that there's even some clashes with them in south of italy.
