Norwegians are rising from their corona hide. Norway is opening again. Life is getting back to ... something new, strange and unknown. In this saltym sarcastic video we explore the new normality. Including a government trying to dance the nation out of the pandemic. Hilarious. We also cover a digital phenomena that got killed by covid-19. Surprising. And: A summer dream that got crushed. Awful. Also: An intense fight between north and the south - between Ronald and Mads. Cringe. Finally, a deadly and grim competition between Norway and Sweden - two neighbors that chose a different path trying to solve the crises. Sad story.
Uplifting news in Covid times
At their home office, Ronald and Mads are trying to figure out what this new life means and what the consequences are. Using self-deprecation as a filter they turn on both light and funny themes as well as serious and cruel ones. It ends up with Ronald crying and being morbidly smug. Mads shouting and attacking. Then in the end, they start to sing and dance. To the tunes of the new Yourway2Norway Post Corona song.

In New Zealand, there's only 1 official active case at the moment and they have been slowly opening everything up. Schools, restaurants, bars etc.. are open but not universities, and they have just allowed gatherings of over 100 people. It's not business as usual yet but it's slowly getting there.
With only 22 deaths in total the country has done pretty well.

Them northerners! ;) From the Navajo Nation here in the US, we have the third highest rates in the US. Every weekend and evening we are under curfew. It’s okay for my dad and me, we are good. In my part of the US, we are slowly beginning to open up again. The town I'm in is waiting for another week to allow businesses to get safety measures in place.

You guys are comical even during a Pandemic! In the Seattle area, we are still locked down. Boeing went back to work, some parks are open, and two Casinos are open. However, malls, hair dressers, restaurants (for seating) or school are not open yet. I still can't get an appointment for for any of my surgeries that need to happen this summer. I'd love to go to Norway for the summer!
I always feel backwards as a Floridian when people mention the desire for a warm vacation destination. Since I experience hot weather all the time, I often fantasize about a cold and snowy vacation.

@@johanstein467 No were not because we have the San Bernardino Mtns. covered in snow in the winter & spring. Big Bear Lake and Lake Arrowhead are popular resort destinations for snow & water skiing, boating, fishing, snow tubing, ice-skating, sailing, fishing, snowboarding, cabin rental: luxurious to simple (electricity, running water, heat and indoor bathrooms (unlike Norwegian cabins that have none of these things). From Orange County it's about two hours away. There's snow up there right now in May. We are spoiled.
We missed you! You helped my husband and I navigate through Norway last summer. We took notes of your videos and visited the places you suggested and also bought food in super markets like you said. We went to amazing restaurants as well. We even tried the typical Norwegian sandwiches that you made in one of your videos. We stayed for 2 weeks. We love your country!!!
Pandemic has been devastating in New York, and it has affected the economy in this country. We have no idea of what's going to happen. Hopefully things get better for everybody. I usually find him quite entertaining, but in this video, I would have preferred if he dialed it back a touch. It got very frustrating, listening as he interrupted every bloody sentence. Sometimes repeatedly. For me at least, it stopped being amusing quite quickly.

At least I suppose you and Mads won't have one of your frigid vacations to Portugal this year. I doubt international travel has resumed.
I love your dancing government - so funny! Canada is opening up Dental offices and only some provinces have hairdressers and restaurants to dine in (not ours - too many cases still - only the Eastern and Western provinces have low numbers). We are getting stores opened up such as IKEA, and HomeSense, and they are now opening parks and some outdoor places like marinas, garden centres, camping, and golf courses. We cannot travel to the United States - the border is still closed for at least one month. All schools were closed in March and do not open until September.
On Vancouver Island we are still in lockdown... for me it's 78 days now in my home... I just had to order meat from a farmer to fill my freezer to be delivered because the local shops are limiting how much meat we can buy...and even the meat-cutters have to be closed... pick-up or delivery only. The meat prices are going up so high that is why I wanted to buy a lot now... I pray we don't have a "second wave"... not here or there... I love always seeing and hearing from you two... Be happy and healthy...

Well, this was entertaining and informative! Why am I laughing all the way through! Your shoes in the corner...the folks lined up against the fence in the snow yes those little touches that make your vids so entertaining! What's it like here post covid well, I live in missouri..home of the famous video just shown on the news..at the "lake of the ozarks" of all the youngins partying it up swim shorts to bikini bottoms butt to butt living it up in a bar pool! Oh the officials are just besides themselves! In a public announcement what not to do so soon! None where wearing a mask and def no social distancing...warning us that there maybe a uptick in cases cause of these goobers! Some wear masks about and some do not seem to care! Going to shops and such...and boo hoo the Ulta shops are still not open!!🙀🤣🤣its a premier makeup and beauty products store! Oh well gents..I saw a rainbow this early evening....all hope isn't lost!! Listening to the corona song, it showed me that there is still happiness in the world. Im fra Malaysia and its been really gloomy these days. Mom and pop businesses are closing down. And whats keeping me sane is getting to video call my close friends and watching your videos. That song and dance really made my day. Its been so long since ive felt hope. Thank you for that. ❤

@Abner Sim Your message really touched me. I can read the sorrow in your comment. In the US, we are losing a lot of the small businesses also. It is heartbreaking. The stimulus package that was supposed to help them has instead been funneled to big businesses. I know our world will be different once we open back up. If it doesn’t open at 0600, we don’t go. We just had Memorial Day weekend, and with the number of people coming into our state for the beeches it isn’t worth it. We did restaurant pick up a couple of times last week and may pick up pizza at our favorite place sometime next month. Otherwise, we are pretty happy at home. Being an introvert helps! The whole politicizing of masks thing here is nuts (okay, maybe a lot of things here are nuts). It’s like politicizing safety belts in cars.😄

In South Africa we are moving on to level 3 of the Coronavirus game on the first of June. Alcohol will be for sale for the first time since March but still no cigarettes sold. Wearing a mask is compulsory when outside your home.
We have had 577 deaths. Terrible, I know, but the amount of people literally dying of hunger are going to surpass the Covid-19 deaths by thousands soon. Sad sad sad situation.

I went on a vacation to Norway in the summer a few years back and kept forgetting it was summer because of the cold days hehehe
There was a stream of water close to the house we rented and the water was way too cold to enjoy it. I thought to myself "oh, it could be fun to be here in the summer" and then I remembered - it was summer. Still one of the best vacations I had.
Here, in Israel it looks like we might be able to fly to some approves countries later in the summer (although I'm not really counting on this happening). I am disappointed because I had several vacations planned for 2020, but I think it's a good time to have some vacations in Israel and help the tourism industry since there won't be any tourists coming from other countries anytime soon.

I work in the local library, and we have been closed since mid March. In the beginning of June we are going to be doing a kind of drive-thru service for pickups and drop offs like McDonald's

2nd generation Norwegian/American here in the Pacific Northwest, commenting again.
It must suck to have those travel restrictions, but so many states in the US are basically opening an all-you-can-eat buffet for Covid 19. It's beyond insanity. As time will tell, you guys are getting it right.. (Sweden, not so much.) Even though the PNW is doing relatively better for the time being,, I'd so much rather be back in Norway right now.
US is not done yet by far, though they are starting to open gradually in our and nearby states. I'm in Connecticut, between NYC and Boston. My college courses are currently online at least through the summer, still isolating at home in a 55+ (age) complex. Thank you for the postcards from Norway - I included a link to your post on the extra vowels for a Linguistics project on Norwegian.

As usual you crack me up. Living in Southeast Alaska and Norway are so similar. Alaska did the best of almost any state in the USA dealing with coronavirus, I wish we could keep our boarder closed to the rest of the world a little longer but we will have join the rest of the country soon. No trips for us just hiking camping and fishing this summer

I think Sweden should had followed the other Nordic countries' strategy. Of course we can't be certain about the future, but at least for now, it definitely seems like Norway was the smart one here.

Hello from Massachusetts, one of the top states for Corona virus. How the USA is doing is a hard question as each state has different policies. We do not have a centralized government that can tell all fifty states what the procedure will be. Imagine Norway with 19 counties would have 19 different policies.
I see that you will be unable to leave Norway for vacation. Well I wished I owned an outdoor shop in Norway. I would sell all kinds of merchandise for a nice cabin in the northern woods.
In fact I wished I owned a cabin on some remote lake with fishing and canoes for all of the people in the South wanting to " rough it" and try to emulate Lars Monsen.

People here fear unemployment and bankruptcy more than sickness. The media is playing the fear mongers scarying us with cemetery scenes all day.

I cannot understand people who put money before life...I think until they lose a loved one to COVID-19 they will not change. I am afraid that our death toll will double.

Sounds like the competition situation here in Australia. I live in New South Wales, I can drive the length of this State which is around 1800 km but cannot drive 25 km across the border into Queensland State - Border CLOSED. How ridiculous !!! Queensland claims it will be closed borders until September. Its become a political competition between our States to see who can have the least amount of new Covid19 cases. I am also sad as my husband and I should be in Norway now on holiday but it looks like we won't be able to leave Australia until 2021. Crazy world !!
I live in QUEENSLAND. My town had zero cases. We dont want people from the infested southern states so hope the border will remain closed for some time to come. Nothing much has changed here yet but the schools have all gone back. We have done well in Australia. I hope we continue strict border control and keep everyone safe .... more than happy to miss holidays for peoples safety .

We currently have more soap and hand sanitizer in our blood stream than blood. I work in the laboratory at our local hospital so we use a lot of it. I'm from the north and my wife is from the south and we have the same silly arguments about which is best and yes I'm with Roland definitely the north and I must admit northern Norway is stunning! There is not that much to do in north Idaho anyway so my life hasn’t changed much except no movie theater and restaurants are indecisive about what they are doing. Glad you are well and life is “normal” again. It’s all about attitude.
We can't go to the north of our province right now, and people from the north part of the province can't come south, but people from other provinces can come to the south. It makes no sense. The border between Canada and the United States is still closed. In my city there will be no swimming pool open this year, no concerts or sports, and you cannot go camping unless you own a big RV with your own bathroom. So, I'll be getting a lot of house maintenance and yard work done this summer.
In Savannah, Georgia we have opened and I do not feel safe, because I feel it is to soon. Love the videos keep up the great content.
I looked up where my great great great ancestors came from thanks to google maps. I have a great aunt who traveled there and talked to people that used to be neighbors with them. She has pictures of what looked like a house or two which is still there! It’s beautiful! I guess it’s more southern, a little north of Bergen.

Hi guys, good to see what is happening in Norway , we're going to normality slowly here in Paraguay, now we're in Phase 2, malls, shopping and jobs are returning to it's regular movement. Soon we will be able to visit our families and friends, maybe in October.

My husband and I are in Chicago. Chicago opened but we all wear masks if we are outside. Encouraged social distancing. Husband and I follow the rules. We were thinking of going to another state for a small vacation, but decided against it because we don't feel safe. For the first time we are home together 24/7 but we haven't gone crazy yet!

Much of love back to you. Things in Holland is al about 1.5 meter distance. Chairs in busses and trains are taped of, you can only have 2people at a table in a pub. And everybody is working out outside, big groups of people doing body pump or yoga and stuff on every grassfield you can find😱

What a nice humor you have! You made me smile through the video. In Argentina we are 45M inhabitants. We settled quarantine in 20 Mars. Yesterday our numbers: 28764 infected, 9083 cured and 802 death. It is much better than Brazil ! Much better!! As you compete with Sweeden we compete with Brazil (The Soccer story) and this time we have better numbers than our brazilian brothers. Your video is full of hope and that stimulates. I love to see you, I can't just listen in the background, I have to watch. Ronald, your face is so compelling and expressive. And the rare treat of seeing Mads, as opposed to only hearing his splendidly grumpy counter-commentary. Okay, so at the moment the state where I live, Queensland, (Australia) is still locked down, and that seems to be preventing the outbreaks being experienced by the states to the south, and they are annoyed that they can't come here right now. I'm quite happy to stay home and out of the way, and protect the immunocompromised members of my family. It's still kind of scary and depressing on a personal level, but I adore the cheerful updates from you. Seriously, you're so cute. We in New York City are still in lockdown. The plan is to leave lockdown in phases, with businesses opening up in different stages depending on how essential the business is. Social distancing and masks will continue for a while.

I meant to tell you. There are lots of RUclips videos on how to make the Portuguese tarts you love. If you buy prepared puff pastry in the frozen food section at your grocers, the custard is really easy to make. I gained five pounds thanks to the two of you! (I love you both anyway!! ❤️♥️❤️). The tarts are delicious!
