    Another OAP here - and I'm not the only one at my club either.
    Thanks for the video. I am considering a bullpup at the moment. Rifles are like motorcycles. The correct number to own is the number you have plus one.
    In the "long and heavy" class, mine is the Air Arms TX200 full length variant (4.1kg). I wouldn't want to carry one around all day but I don't hunt any more, its just carrying it from the car to the range which is fine. 😀

    I’ve got one and I love it. I fitted a hand grip with built in bipod to the front rail. Also if you take of the pictiney rail a full length weaver rail is underneath 👍

    only thing bad is the packing. it deserves a wooden crate and should come with 1 at that price imo

    I have a hw 100 t hw97k and thinking about adding one on these in 22. How are you getting on with it now?
    Great content 👍

      I hated it. Honest. up until a few weeks ago i was a gnats ball from selling it (it hasnt had 200 pellets through it) but after some *extensive* pellet testing, i have it grouping 10p size at 35mts. I've also fitted a ZB adjustabe mount which is a must have for me now. H&N FTT are the best pellets. I think it just needed some lead down the barrel, a few drops of powerpellet lube and its shooting like a HW100 should.

    To answer your question: why does the .22 get more shots? You need to push more air behind a .177 to generate the same amount of power i.e. 12 ft lbs. In this case power = weight x velocity. You also get a higher muzzle velocity in .177 due to the extra air used. If you look at an unrestricted FAC air rifle the .22 gets less shots per fill, as more air is required for the larger diameter pellet to achieve a similar muzzle velocity. I hope that makes sense.

      Ive not had much fun with the .22 bullpup. In fact last week i came within micromenters of selling it. It has been a pig to dial in but now, with H&N FTT, power pell lubricant and a decent 35mts range, its now behaving like a Weihrauch should and grouping at 1 inch.

    Pretty sure the stock is actually wood with a rubber coating?

    • @Cornz38
      @Cornz38  3 месяца назад

      Yeah, seems so and that rubber coating is less than durable according to some reports i keep reading.

    I'm almost an OAP too (sneaks up on you, doesn't it?) and I have a HW100 bp .177 but I have the longer one. You absolutely will not regret getting one, just the best gun I've ever owned and close to being the best I've ever shot (the only better one I've used cost nearly twice as much new and had had a grand's worth of tuning and fettling). Accurate as any Weihrauch and the ergonomics are perfect, the weight just seems to disappear when you shoulder it. Enjoy it mate.

    • @Cornz38
      @Cornz38  Год назад +1

      I've been 3d printing a few nice bits for it. A magazine holder and some foregrips. Yeah, like my MK1 hw100, i love the look. Plus i like bullpups anyway (SG1 P90 fanboi) so it was obvious choice. Not cheap but you get what you pay for.

    • @davidpaylor5666
      @davidpaylor5666 Год назад +1

      @@Cornz38 The thing with hw100 variants is that you get more than you pay for if you compare it to FX, AirArms or Daystate, you have to spend a lot more to get something that's as good. I've been looking into getting a .22 recently and I keep coming back to the hw100 even though I think I should try something different. Might get one of those fancy laminate ones. Take it easy and happy shooting.

      @@davidpaylor5666 This is the first .22 ive ever owned, I have a difficult pigeon job and the .177 are going straight through them due to the close range and thats from my alecto pistol as its a confined space.

    It is definitely a silencer and not a moderator. A moderator just takes the bark out a little. A silencer silences the muzzle report. It is complete and utter nonsense, having to call silencers moderators. You remove it and fire it, then tell me that it only moderates the sound. 😊

    • @Cornz38
      @Cornz38  Год назад

      They really are the same in this case. Some places say silencer, some say moderator. They both do the same thing. Reduce the sound of the shot.It is a 12ft Lb air gun. Not a Barret 50 cal.

    • @Steve-Cross
      @Steve-Cross Год назад

      @@Cornz38 Mine sounds like a 50cal without its silencer. It definitely makes your ears ring without it fitted. Yet it is whisper quiet with it. So I think it is silenced and not moderated. I know I am probably being pedantic, And yes, I know people call moderators, silencers and vice versa. How many cars have moderators. Just saying. 😊

      Yeah, the original MK1 hw100 was a "marmite" looker with the thumbhole stock. Me, i loved it so bought one about 20 years ago. This is the first .22 i've had. It is still a heavy gun, especially with some add-ons but does feel nice in the hands. I am struggling with the safety though as my muscle memory keeps me going far far to far forward for it.
