Analogue needs to make the exact same thing for the PS2. I just recently got two giant CRT TVs for my ps2 and my wife is slightly annoyed that we don’t currently have enough room for the TVs (her brother had to move in with us and took over what used to be the game room) and they’re currently just on the floor of our bedroom 😅 If they made a PS2 that worked well on a 4K tv with the CRT filters, I could get rid of those TVs and just use the one in our living room.

$250 is a great price for this console, especially since it produces the exact same behavior as an N64 but with hdmi 4K upscaled output. I’ll snag a few of them for gifts.

You would order from Analogue's own website. It doesn't include the controller to help bring the price down but it is compatible with tons of other controllers so you likely already have a compatible controller like a series x/s controller or an original n64 controller.
Have you ever tried plugging an N64 directly into a modern display? That’s the point of this product and the 4K output, along with many other quality of life features.
The analogue 3d has hdmi 2.1 features, 4k, VRR support, Standard Scanline options, hybrid scanline options and a PVM Option. It has scalers built in that can go up to 5x, although this may produce a smoothness to the image you might not like and are optional, it also gets rid of frame rate issues and you can make games run at higher frames by choosing an overclock option It has built in save states, works with real n64 cartridges, comes with a 16gb micro sd card, has built in wifi also.

I really wish IO spent more time with Hitman. A remake of the first game, remastered missions etc. The reboot was great don't get me wrong but I feel like it lacked content. Older games in the franchise had more missions!

The console is responsible for rendering the image. You can take a clean dump of your cartridge game and open the rom in an emulator to be displayed at a higher resolution. The rom itself is not modified for 4k. The analogue 3D uses fpga based hardware emulation. It's more console accurate than software emulation but can still take advantage of features like higher resolution and save states commonly found in software emulation.

They lost me at 250-300 USDA lol nah that’s half a ps5 which is at the end of its life cycle (been out since 2019 most consoles last 6 years) so asking people to not use FREE emulation over this is cracked
2019? 2020. PS5 has at least 3 more years left before PS6 come out. PS5 is 4 years old next month. PS4 was 7 years old when PS5 came out (they still making games for it). PS3 was 7 years old when PS4 came out. PS3 is still (barely) being supported 18 years later.
You have to consider that analog had to develop this console from the ground up which takes a lot of research and development. N64 emulation is notoriously poor, many games don't work at all and much more have graphical or audio glitches as well as run at the incorrect frame rate. The analog 3D will be a literal perfect one to one experience of the original n64, just in 4k and was saved states.

@@Jonah-Hosein it's not emulation, its new hardware that perfectly replicates the original hardware. Gainesville play exactly like they did on the original N64 just in 4k and with save states and other visual options.

It's not using software emulation like you would find on your phone or pc. The entire appeal is that it is FPGA based.

Its FPGA based hardware emulation not software emulation like on your phone or PC. Its advertising 100% compatibility for the entire n64 library which up to this point has not been achieved. If you don't care about accuracy then you can get by with software emulation. This is not targeted towards these people. The entire appeal of the device is that its FPGA based hardware emulation.
