- NBA GMs gave Donovan Clingan some respect. Plus, a very stupid non-controversy involving Deni and Chauncey Billups, and who is the Blazers biggest swing player.

Thank you Mike for not being one of "those guys" who's entire focus on reporting for the Blazers revolves around hot takes and gotcha moments.
Keep up the great work and the great content!
Deni can be the best all-around player only if the offense is suitable to his game. he is a very, very efficient player, but he isn't a top star who can be at his best in any environment. He can be best at transition offense, and when there's a lot of ball movement. He needs the ball in his hands. he can be efficient 18 10 6 player if he gets enough usage.
Deni is their best player indeed. ❤🎉
He has all the tools like Mario H., let's hope he puts them together tho.

@@pinkdifferent5533 You're not wrong, but who is best in any environment and gets 14M a year?
@@modax0 Someone who, in the last year of his rookie deal, signed his extension right before he broke out. Though it's not common, it did happen. That is why the Blazers had to give up two first-round draft picks in order to get Deni, who is thought to have possibly the most team-friendly deal in the NBA.
😂😂 i’ve been listening to this pod for 2 years and i haven’t heard Mike say any profanity until today
Because we listeners and viewers use enough profanity in our daily Blazers' discussions, he doesn't need to add any.
Family show. My bad.
@@LockedOnBlazers No worries. It could happen to the best of us.
@@LockedOnBlazersLet it loose Mike, I don’t mind it. You do a great with the show, thank you!
deni is the best guys it will be a fact soon
Mike, you are the man! Keep up the fine work...
Duop could be the bench breakout. Reminds me a little bit of Zach Randolph
Camara and Murray shooting probably the biggest sleeper storyline this year cause that could speed things up
Murray isn't playing lol
the bun 😆
Pudding Season is here!
For what it’s worth (not much) NBA2k has best Blazers as Ayton (83) Grant (82) and Ant. (81). Then Williams and Deni as 80.
Kris is consistently a year developmentally behind keegan, i think we'll get Kris performing at year one Keegan level this year
Injuries won’t affect the expected outcomes in the next six weeks, as they’re forecasted to lose nearly all of them anyway.
While the Deni story in itself is not a big story, the meaning behind it is. I am so tired of "according to sources" "an insider said" but no one ever says who these people are. Many 'reporters' just hide behind the whole, I need to protect my source, way too much. In the end, I find it hard to believe many articles or reports from people about sports, and beyond. They can just say random crap in order to get followers and readers, then, when it turns out not to be true, al they need to say is, well I guess my source was wrong, not my fault. Should have three strikes and you are out policy. They have their credentials taken away for a year.
It's a team game isn't it ?
@@RanNaot No it's not.
The blazers consistently gets the lowest points from assists in the whole league.
Kris Murray is just a few months older than Deni Avdija, so it's rather awkward to label him as either a swing player or as having unrealized potential. The only edge Murray has over Deni at this point is that he is still on a rookie contract, but other than that, he is close to reaching his ceiling. At most, Murray could become marginally better at shooting from the three-point line in the near future.
I spent 10 minutes saying Deni might be the best player on the roster and your complaint is that I said Kris improving would be helpful. Okay!
@@LockedOnBlazers If was not clear, I'm not a complaining of any wrongdoings toward Deni. I actually think you are giving Deni Avdija more than a fair share of positive coverage as well as an accurate assessment of his skills.
It just happens that Kris Murray and Deni are close in age, at about the same height and play forward. That is the only reason I compared them to each other.
Regardless of Deni, my point being that Kris came to the league as a mature 22\23 year old, so there is usually a very small margin for him to take a leap in his game to begin with. Therefore he shouldn't be looked as a developmental prospect that is expected to make significant leaps in his game, like Scoot for instance, but rather someone who might improve marginally just enough to potentially function as a contributing role player.
26:11 - To me, uhhh, this sounds like the exact thing I said in this episode where I also added that I am "lower on Kris than most" but thanks for listening.
Deni has had 1 good year and Washington sold high on him... that says something
It means they sacrificed Deni because he didn't fit the timeline. a big mistake imho.
They've also ditched Beal, Porzingis, Hachimura, Gafford etc etc over the last couple of years and now have a 30 win team to show for it. The Wizards haven't got a clue what they're doing.
@@tchai91 Maybe but neither does Portland
@@tchai91 all those players you named didn’t help win together so what’s your point? imagine a blazer fan talking down on the wizards like their organization is soooo much better lol…last time y’all won was what 77 to wiz 78? blazers are so good 😂
I'm not entirely sure what you're upset about here, but I am a Wizards fan that wants to see Deni thrive and not strangled in a system that didn't use him effectively. The Wizards didn't win with those players because of severely poor mismanagement and eye-wateringly poor coaching. Scott Brooks got the Wiz to the playoffs with a severe lack of talent and size, then they fired him and brought in Wes Unseld Jr (WUJ), who, it became clear very quickly, was not up to the job. Say what you want about Brooks, but his teams play hard and play together, but in the three years they gave WUJ, neither of those things happened, and they burned through a ridiculous amount of talent, which they tried to blame rather than WUJ. Their completely mismanagement has now culminated in their getting rid of the last good player from the Brooks years (Deni), and bizarrely they have decided to keep Kuzma and Poole, two players who are only interested in one thing.......themselves (much like Dinwiddie and Jones were when they played for the Wiz).
I don't know anything about the Blazers, but what I do know is that you're going to be pleasantly surprised by how good Deni is, assuming that you use him effectively. THAT's the point - WUJ either didn't play him, played him a few minutes, or spotted him up on the wing; absolutely ridiculous for somebody so creative and unselfish.
