Hello Father Spyridon. I dont know if you will read this but I'm leaving this comment hear to show appreciation for your videos and to share my experience and benefit from them. I am not yet a devout religious man but I am very much trying to explore the Bible and to communicate with God for the last year and a half and to show my appreciation for my blessings even though I dont yet fully believe. Hello Father Spyridon, I am a Christian but I am pretty much a lone Christian as I’ve been bedridden for the last 4yrs with spinal issues I was born with and a badly damaged spinal cord and I live in chronic pain but i feel extremely blessed to have SO much precious time with The Lord. I dedicate my life to praying for others, especially the lost🙏🏼 I’ve been struggling a lot recently as I feel a failure as I can’t actually go out and help people physically and I’m really trying to Guard my heart as I suspect it’s the spiritual wolves that are trying to bring me down whilst I am vulnerable physically and emotionally. God led me to your channel a few days ago and I know it was purposeful and for a reason ♥️ From what I have watched so far I just want to say a massive thank you as you are really building me back up spiritually and confirming SO much of what God is already trying to tell me. I empathise with you as I am in my 80,s and getting ever weaker and can no longer help out people as I used to which is frustrating and I feel a failure too. Orthodox Christians depend heavily on the Saints to explain to us what the Gospels mean but also to guide us on all matters of daily life that Jesus may not have explicitely talked about in the Bible. Fr Spyridon, as you are a Christian and an Englishman, I would like to ask you a question, not necessarily about the content of this video that will play soon. I am curious to know what your thoughts and advice is to any Christian who feels they are wrestling between secularism and Christianity during Christmas (I know it shouldn’t be a question of which one to choose), but during a time of quiet reflection, joy, laughter with family and loved ones, it’s very difficult to balance the two when around others, an example being from a very simple but too common occurrence of choosing what entertainment to watch. There are many people who expressed disappointment, shock and disgust with the lack of respect and sensitivity towards the Christian faith and traditional family values, from a lack of Christian iconography, to covert anti-family, anti-Christian messages in secular advertisements showing the burning of Christmas cards (MandS is one that comes to mind), but on the other hand, this really shouldn’t shock any Christian. Too many nominal Christians place their trust and even identity in secular entities to promote Christmas as nothing more than an opportunity to indulge in rampant materialism, instead a time to celebrate the birth of Christ, this should be a quiet wake up call, that being Christian in name only not enough. ☦️ My question is, how do you balance all of this? Can there be true balance? Must we reject this completely? And are you at all surprised by the outrage over the lack of focus towards the Faith during this time of year? Hello, my family removed the television from our home some years ago, and as a result have no harm done to us by any of this. I encourage everyone to stop watching television, it is harmful to the mind and spirit. As we are old calendar, we celebrate the Nativity free from any of the commercial madness that the world bombards us with.
I never would have believed that the intrusive thoughts that everyone talks about could actually be spiritual attacks, from demons and otherwise. The struggle is real, I know that now. God will give us the sword and shield we need, if we prove our intentions to the very end, am I wrong?

Hello Father Spyridon or whoever may answer this question, i have recently decided to become orthodox and would like to share this with my friends and family. The problem is all of them are Protestant. Would it be bad if i attended protestant services amd events in the hope of bringing them over? I feel this is possible bc many complaints they have about catholics doesnt exist in the orthodox church. Thank you and god bless ( btw i live in a rural area with the closest orthodox church being too far for me to economically make weekly )
“What business does light have with darkness?” Speak the truth as best you can. Educate yourself, explain but dont compromise your faith for anything. I encourage you to seek council from your priest or spiritual father about this beforehand.
Ask your priest - he will no doubt tell you do not attend protestant services. Focus on cleansing and refining yourself and what you give off through your struggle may inspire others thru God's will. It was told to me common the excitement of learning orthodoxy brings this feeling to bring others but can backfire as you are a baby in it. Ask your priest

Looking for a general opinion on this. Other commenters welcome to reply. I live in a predominantly Muslim area. Four out of five businesses around me are Muslim owned. Being one of the few white people in my area, I often get looks and disproving glances whenever going into one of these businesses. From my time interacting with the locals, I have learned that a simple introduction of “Sala malaykum” will often go a long way, and immediately make them open to me. Does greeting person of a different religion with their religious introduction go against the teachings of Christ?
I cannot definitively answer your question. However, I see it as this: It is a greeting. Just as you say "hello", "Guten Tag" or "Καλημέρα". Salam Aleykum is just a greeting to you. Sure, it has a religious meaning to muslims, but you do not believe in Islam. In your case, such religious meaning doesn't exist. This comes to the fact that it is simple respect. God said to be kind and respect others, so such a greeting is perhaps even necessary. Moreover, in your situation, it is even more important to build trust. Again, as long as you dont follow that religion and is simply a way of showing respect, you should be fine. God bless

Hello, my family removed the television from our home some years ago, and as a result have no harm done to us by any of this. I encourage everyone to stop watching television, it is harmful to the mind and spirit.
As we are old calendar, we celebrate the Nativity free from any of the commercial madness that the world bombards us with.

I never would have believed that the intrusive thoughts that everyone talks about could actually be spiritual attacks, from demons and otherwise. The struggle is real, I know that now. God will give us the sword and shield we need, if we prove our intentions to the very end, am I wrong?

Hello Father Spyridon or whoever may answer this question, i have recently decided to become orthodox and would like to share this with my friends and family. The problem is all of them are Protestant. Would it be bad if i attended protestant services amd events in the hope of bringing them over? I feel this is possible bc many complaints they have about catholics doesnt exist in the orthodox church. Thank you and god bless ( btw i live in a rural area with the closest orthodox church being too far for me to economically make weekly )

Speak the truth as best you can. Educate yourself, explain but dont compromise your faith for anything.
I encourage you to seek council from your priest or spiritual father about this beforehand.
Ask your priest - he will no doubt tell you do not attend protestant services. Focus on cleansing and refining yourself and what you give off through your struggle may inspire others thru God's will. It was told to me common the excitement of learning orthodoxy brings this feeling to bring others but can backfire as you are a baby in it. Ask your priest

Looking for a general opinion on this. Other commenters welcome to reply.
I live in a predominantly Muslim area. Four out of five businesses around me are Muslim owned.
Being one of the few white people in my area, I often get looks and disproving glances whenever going into one of these businesses.
From my time interacting with the locals, I have learned that a simple introduction of “Sala malaykum” will often go a long way, and immediately make them open to me.
Does greeting person of a different religion with their religious introduction go against the teachings of Christ?
Why are giving your money to a business that makes you feel unwelcome?
I have no other words for this utter naivety.
I cannot definitively answer your question. However, I see it as this:
It is a greeting. Just as you say "hello", "Guten Tag" or "Καλημέρα". Salam Aleykum is just a greeting to you. Sure, it has a religious meaning to muslims, but you do not believe in Islam. In your case, such religious meaning doesn't exist.
This comes to the fact that it is simple respect. God said to be kind and respect others, so such a greeting is perhaps even necessary.
Moreover, in your situation, it is even more important to build trust. Again, as long as you dont follow that religion and is simply a way of showing respect, you should be fine. God bless
