    Excellent video on how to set up multiple style traps and where to put them. However, part of going with you while you set the traps, is returning to see what was successful and what was not. Perhaps upcoming videos could could show both.
    I'm just say'in.......

    how long will otters stay around. I found we have a couple on our property but the ice is 10 inches thick it's starting to melt and I found fish on the ice where they have caught them. Will they still be around to trap. I don't think all our fish is ate out yet.

    • @trapsetting101
      @trapsetting101  7 лет назад

      joshua12345j it varies. In the winter they tend to travel a little less, but there's no rule of thumb. They can have a wide hole range. The more, and fresher the sign you find, the higher your odds will be.

    Great vid. This is something I've always wanted to learn. I was hoping you would show going back and checking your traps, and you did give us at least one. Also that last trap that you showed that had the beaver in it; that was a conibear trap right? I'm going to have to find a video on how those work. Thanks for the great information! Showing where you put them and why was a great help.

      Taylor Dutton, they have their place. They're fast and easy to set. They're definitely worth buying.

    How do you keep from catching hunting dogs?

    • @trapsetting101
      @trapsetting101  5 лет назад

      I raise beagles. Im yet to catch a dog in one of my water traps. I have caught them in coyote traps, they went back to hunting as soon as I let them out.

      Beaver Bandit Outdoors I'm in eastern Kansas and our otter numbers aren't super high. Found scat piles last winter on gravel bars with tons of scales and crawfish shells in it and some slimey green. Sound like otter to you. Some scat was in 10 foot area

    • @trapsetting101
      @trapsetting101  6 лет назад

      @@kansasscratchking2431 that definitely sounds like otter. You'll find those slides usually on sharp bends with sandy ground, or on crossovers.... places that are surrounded by water is usually where you'll find toilets. Also in front of their dens you'll find toilets too. I have another otter video on my channel that is a top notch video. You should check it out.

    • @trapsetting101
      @trapsetting101  8 лет назад

      Outdoorsman20, yes. just make sure to set it up on a drowner with enough water to go at least knee deep where the trap will end up.

    Make sure the safety hooks are off the coni springs... And that narrow channel... I would have set at least 4 280s in that one!

    How could you do this to such an adorable and innocent creature?

    • @trapsetting101
      @trapsetting101  6 лет назад +2

      Swing Thing adorable, sure. Innocent, not so much. You would need to see the destruction these critters can cause to understand why they need to be controlled.
