In the Western Cape, the African National Congress, South African Communist Party and the Congress of South African Trade Unions hosted their May Day rally at Cape Town’s Athlone Stadium, while the Democratic Alliance hosted their gathering in Mitchells Plain. In Gauteng, the Economic Freedom Fighters took their Workers’ Day commemoration to Hammanskraal.
