The only person that says an X type is a Mondeo in a suit is somebody that has never owned or at least spent any time driving one. Yes it does share the same running gear as a Mondeo but this is where the similarity ends.
i guess people that says an X type is a Mondeo in a suit can't even probably afford a mondeo! haha

I've never been very big on Jaguars but this car has caught my attention. I'm thinking of buying one.

They're cheap too. I think I'll save up for one as a first car. You can't find so many luxury features in any other $3000-$4000 car that is AWD.

Beautiful color. I own a white 2004 and love it.
Very nice car. Iv got a black one 2.2d. Only had to replace the tensioner so far.

Nice jaguar even if is part Ford and part jaguar, but you really need to drive a pure jaguar like the Older xj6s etc......so well built and tight, even on the roughest of roads it remained rattle free and what a drive ( absolutely awesome )

Nice car. These Jaguars are very reliable.
And I don't know this for sure but I've been told if it's cold you can damage an engine revving it too hard.
I used to own one until about may. Generally, not too bad of a car as long as you keep it up on maintenance. You also have to remember it's a ford engine and parts can be expensive. Would not recommend one though.

Why do a lot of the cars you review have the check engine light or some sort of other fault?
with most cars check engine light doesn't necessarily mean something is wrong with the engine itself mechanically. could be something as simple as an oxygen sensor that will set off light

Perhaps you listen too much to Jaguar PR executives saying the X-Type is "a proper Jaguar" when in fact it rides on a Ford CD platform, and with whatever efforts they did to make it a 'different' car, it is still very much related to a Ford Mondeo. Also, stop trying to sound all intelligent and 'by-the-book' when you can't even fix your damn grammar. Sweetheart my ass.
so you get the luxury and sportiness of a Jag with the reliability of ford... where's the problem here? These are very well talked about cars.

About 17 procent is Ford, the rest Jaguar and 3rd parties... any car manufacturer uses parts of the mother company or other 3rd parties so stop calling this a Ford in a suit. It's just not true.
