  • *Why Formula E is Harder Than F1*
While Formula 1 may have the glamour and history, Formula E is proving to be a tougher challenge for drivers in unexpected ways. With electric cars, tighter circuits, and unique race strategies, Formula E demands a different level of skill and adaptability that many argue makes it even more difficult than F1. From energy management to unpredictable weather conditions, drivers in Formula E face obstacles that push them to the limit.
In this video, we’ll break down the reasons why Formula E is considered harder than Formula 1, from the technical demands to the strategic intricacies of electric racing. What sets Formula E apart, and why are so many top drivers struggling to conquer this innovative motorsport?
Join us as we explore the intense world of Formula E and what makes it the ultimate challenge for racing drivers.

Harder than formula 2 maybe. F1 cars have twice as much power and have tougher competition. F1 races are also more physically demanding and there is also 7 more races a year in F1 compared for Formula E.

actually, FE has tougher competition, since the cars are so close in performance

Interesting video! I understand where you're coming from and you make some great points, F1 is definitely more about optimization and FE more adaptability. I think FE has a great future, but still isn't at the level of competition of F1 when you consider rather inconsequential F1 drivers being quite successful, De Vries, Wehrlein, Vandoorne. The physicality and reaction times with the greater speed are also significant. I think once FE gets more uptake from Junior series the competition will improve

Okay, so say all this is true, why was a FE champion (Nick De Vries) dropped because he was too bad. Since he got more time for everything, better grip, all around a better car, easier car if I may, than what he won with in FE
Shouldn’t he at least outscore his teammate?

Being 'harder' isn't determined by the cars or tracks but the competition. If all your competitors share the same tracks, the difficulty of track is ruled out. F1 is the hardest purely because it has the highest quality of drivers.

    1) Not just 2 street circuits in F1... but 8 (Jeddah, Melbourne, Miami, Monaco, Canada, Baku, Singapore, Las Vegas). FE has only 10 tracks, not a big difference. 2) Nick De Vries (FE champion) showed nothing in F1 and was outperformed by Yuki. Just for comparison, Franco Colapinto already showed better result in only 3 races. I'm not even talking about Verstappen in 2015 who jumped from F3 to F1. 3) And why do you choose 2023 to show that F1 is boring and has 1 dominant driver? Why not 2024? in 2023 RBR just did a better job then everyone else. Max took the opportunity and set a record

evolving track argument is just stupid. f1 tracks are also evolve and change... same goes to weather. F1 placed on other planet?

"F1 is the ultimate test of a driver's skill"
Going 300 kph on a wide road is definitely easier than going 200 kph on a tight and twisty road full of snow and ice in complete darkness.

A few things, firstly i think being in a bad f1 car is way more difficult than Fe because you have to be better to be equal. Secondly you used max winning 19/22 races last year as an example of the dominance of f1 where that level of domination was a record breaking and nothing close to that had ever happened before. For example this year, max, charles, oscar, lando, carlos and lewis have each won at least 1 race. That is 6 unique winners as opposed to the 7 you said Fe had, using such an extreme example like the most dominant year of f1 EVER doesn't really put it into perspective well in my opinion. Good well put together video, but I think they trade blows with eachother and that f1 is overall a little more difficult because of the mental aspect. Every racer is praying they don't get kicked and it is very easy to get dropped in f1, I don't know much about Fe but i think it is a little less cut throat than f1 in terms of getting and keeping a seat. Also as it is considered the peak of motorsport your race is analyzed a lot more and any mistake will not go unnoticed, increasing your chances of getting dropped. To summarize I think u exagerrated some things, good vid tho but i still think f1 is a little harder than Fe overall.

Interesting video, even tho I'm not a fan of Formula E (nor EVs) in general.
Personally, I wouldn't say that FE is harder than F1; I'd say that FE is more... "manageable". Sure, they have less downforce and less grip than F1, but that is the equivalent of driving a civilian car quickly. In F1, you have to make split second decisions that can have catastrophic consequences since you're driving at 330+ kph at times. When it comes to FE, this lack of downforce and grip makes me think that you're driving a car that's prone to understeer, and that is easy to control by not forcing the car that much. Of course, there's no point in racing if you're not pushing your limits, but I wouldn't say that the inherent limitations and characteristics of FE are enough to say that it's harder than F1.
