Happy Anniversary, always remember "Happy Wife = Happy Life"
Life comes before videos. If wife is happy, everybody is happy.
Now that's DEF a Targa Top ;)
Congratulations on 8 years!
Polisher did a great job on your intercoolers. When you finish the car, I doubt you’re going to sell it.
Happy 8th brother and I pray y'all have many many more years together, happily ever than the years before!! Good update my friend, keep on rocking that Callaway! Thumbs up ~John
Thanks
Congratulations on your Anniversary!! FAMILY COMES FIRST!
👍👍👍good job to that guy👍
Congratulations on your 8th Anniversary Chris...you are right, that was more important that posting a video, unless you want to sleep in the garage with your Corvette's...lol
Cool...
ok i guess i can be more patient on content.lol.ps happy anniversary guys and many more.
Happy Belated Anniversary, Chris. Recently celebrated our 53rd.
Happy Anniversary, Chris! You're part of our family, so we have no issue with you taking an important day off. This series is my new fix, and like anything addictive, I can't get enough. Keep up the great work!
Thank you!
HAPPY ANIVERSARY Chris. Keep up the good work. We whant tomhear those turbo spin.
Thanks
Happy anniversary Chris your doing a great job.
Thanks
Congratulations Chris for wedding anniversary. Lovely family. God bless you. Smashed that thumbs up 👍 already
Well you mentioned that you are not to familiar with turbos, well "Heat" is a big deal you taking the effort to ceramic coat the exhaust manifolds is a good idea talk to your turbo people out there in Az about doing what you can to help with heat issues, I do hear about ceramic coating the combustion chambers to deal with heat as well. You have a big project keep up the great work.
Happy anniversary to you both!
Thanks
Hello Chris, first of all: HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!! Second: I noticed that your garage is filling up with parts removed and new parts. My well-intentioned tip: store all parts in one single place. A basement, a ceiling, a shed, etc. It will prevent you from running around the house, searching missing parts.
You made my day with finding/adding the body-colored roof! Listening to the back-story on obtaining the roof, I have to quote the Beetles, "You get by with a little help from your friends." Which is the case with many things through life and not just car parts.
You're going to need more tables setup in the garage to help keep all this unbelievable amount of parts organized. At least I would need more tables and probably shelves as well. Plus, I'd be having Post Its up all over the place noting "things to do," "things to order" and so on and so on.
So, you say "this is a huge undertaking" Chris? Oh no, no, no. What you're doing goes waaaay beyond "huge" IMO! And FWIW, I'm enjoying each and every upload. I almost wish you had this restoration in secret and filmed every step of the way so that now you could release upload daily, if not hourly🤣, so that we don't have to wait for the next year or maybe even 18 months to see the final results. Stay the course and of course, Save the Wave👋
P.S. Your polisher didn't polish those parts. He must have had them chromed!😉 They turned out absolutely gorgeous. I haven't read through your listing of contact, but if a link to your polisher is not shown, maybe considering to that as to how to contact them. There might just be a few here who would want to avail themselves of their services. I can think of one in particular.😮🤭
I just did valve seals in my l98 Camaro. Every single one was rotten and some were coming apart. Even with the low mileage yours are probably due too. I used compressed air but my smog system has been removed so I had better access on the passenger side. #6 and #8 were hard enough without those items in place. Good luck.
Are you talking about valve seat seals or valve stem seal? Because I think Chris is thinking about the valve seats
Ordered one of the new t shirts, can't wait for it to arrive! Also, being a father and having watched all your videos I've always wondered how do you manage kid's outdoor toys in your garage and keep garage space for your Corvettes? Enjoying all the C4 content! Happy Anniversary too!
The garage is my space. Nothing else goes in the garage.
@@mycorvettelife Jealous of that!
Congratulations on the anniversary Chris! Appreciate the progress on the car!
Happy belated wedding anniversary✌
_Really nice that someone in the C4 Corvette community reached out to you and sold you the top for just $100. (Granted the shipping cost the same plus). Great find, and a great valuable piece to the B2K puzzle. In time you'll also snag the clear top(hopefully with the thermal shield that can be removed on cooler days here in Arizona)._
I’m late getting to this video. First off Happy Anniversary to you and your wife. Mine was this month also on the 14th, 26 years and we’re still together.
Man the bling on those intercoolers is top notch.
Take your time and don’t feel you have get a video out as fast as you can. I think most of us are patient with you and this whole process. In my own opinion I think there’s no better person to do what your doing than you.
Any ways thanks for the update and look forward to all your future update.
Happy anniversary dude! Keep on keepin' on! BTW, I'm a native Texan and while we have plenty of crappy water, a couple of our aquifers produce the best water I have ever tasted.
Awesome project!!!
With so many parts off of the car...the fasteners become very hard to keep up with....one idea...use heavy duty freezer bags that snap seal well...label the bags of the part with marker... attach them to the part with a zip tie...then when installation time comes...you are not searching for the fasteners that apply to that part...they are with the part...
Yep, I’ve started to do this.
Loving this project and thanks for working so hard to keep the content coming!
Happy Anniversary
Oh, and CONGRATS!!!
Happy Anniversary Chris! great job with the corvette.
Hi Chris, just received my Callaway shirt. I ordered the black one; really turned out nice. 👌👍
Awesome! Glad you like it.
Happy anniversary Chris 🥂
I notice you have a cover on the C5, just a recommendation, maintain a dust free surface and a dust free cover as any dust or other contaminates become abrasives. Hate to see what is does to all the work you have accomplished to get it to this stage. Happy anniversary!! Good start on the Calloway.
I’m aware. The car was washed before I covered it . And the cover is brand new.
Awesome job Chris, it’s a tight schedule your posting, so I think it’s very intensive considering your job. It’s probably time to invest on a car lift so you can work in a secure position making your underneath jobs faster and safer… anyway as always thanks for your dedication buddy it’s gonna be a great journey 👍👍👍cheers from Italy
Think Id want to do a flush before installing the new radiator to keep as much of that junk out of the new one.
Yes I will. You insert a hose in the top rad hose and disconnect the bottom hose
Happy belated anniversary!!!!!
Young man..u really must be buisey with this car.. it is expected.. the reason I say is..u didn't say anything about the new Z06 an ur thoughts on it... good job on the video though. Can't wait to see it when it's done... good job Chris..
Lol, I feel like in the past 24 hours the Z06 has been blasted at nauseam by every media entity in existence. 😂. It’s an incredible car. Maybe I’ll do a video on it.
If I were you and don’t know how far you’ve got since I’m binge watching I would re install the lower without a thermostat push it outside and water hose flush the system especially the heater core
Ethanol softens and degrades older rubber. The seals and rings wind up in the combustion chamber.
I have the 1985 C4 I have pretty much done some of those same things car was sitting about the same time. The automatic gear seems to be between neutral and Drive pushing the gas but it's not moving correctly. I have not dropped the transmission fluid yet, but the fluid looks clean.
What did you so to solve the problem.
On ya mate. Haha you need a bigger garage 😋 I know what that's like.
Like you said, just chip away, bit by bit. But you got this.
Congrats on your anniversary.
I'm currently laid up with hot water burns on my chest and abdomen. Really boring for someone who is always moving and working.
Take care
😬 I hope toy have a speedy recovery!
@@mycorvettelife thanks bro. 2 minute noodles turned into 4 hrs at hospital. Haha.
Take care and stay safe. 👍
Great update, Chris! Can you say what details are involved with the turbo service? I’m not familiar with those so I’d imagine blade to housing tolerances, blade wear, bearings certainly, maybe seals? What all is there to it? Then, of course for you it will be times 2!
I would imagine disassembly, cleaning, inspecting, balancing, replacing any worn bearings and seals.
I love your channel and the build. Respectfully, don't become that guy. I love everything about Corvettes, but It's still just a car!
Did u clean that crud off passenger side
Not yet
It is true that texas has some of the worst water overall in the country. HOWEVER, Texas also has some of the CLEANEST water in America in small areas who have invested in sewage retreatment, or desalination plants. I dont even live in texas, Im just pointing out how its very possible to to save water by drinking filtered pee and they have already been doing it for years and it has been proven to be some of the cleanest water in the country. It is those few cities in Texas that have chemically filtered pee water which makes Texas technically also have the CLEANEST drinking water.
How many Owners before you?? Some would want to know...
I’m #6. The previous owner had it for 21 years. So it had 4 owners in its first 9 years.
THANKS! Is that an average number for C4s?? What is?? Thanks!!!
I have no idea. For a 30 year old car it seems reasonable. In my opinion the number of owners makes no difference. The car is what it is. It’s kind of like counting how many ex-girlfriends you had before marriage. 😂
@@mycorvettelife LOLOL!! Great answer!!!
$250 to ship a top? It didn't cost nearly that much when I shipped mine many years ago. Also, sometimes those C4 top manufacturers will ship you an empty targa top shipping box, which I recommend using when shipping a top.
Also, I'd recommend replacing the intake manifold bolts while it's off and using high temp thread sealant on the bolts on the bolt locations that people mention, as I don't recall which ones need it. And also replace the bolts for the heads since you've said you're taking those off.
I thought when replacing the valve seals that you only had to take the valve covers off? You have to remove the heads to do that? As when I pulled my spark plugs a few months ago, it's clear oil had been dripping on them. And so I figure the valve stem seals are shot.
I recommend running Zerex G-05 coolant. It's a newer 5 year life coolant compared to the green stuff. I've run that coolant now for over a decade and the inside of the radiator I put on back then still looks new.
I wasn't aware the new go to injector is the Delphi injectors. As when I replaced mine a decade ago, everyone was pretty much using the Bosch III injectors. Which FIC still sells. I am sending mine in to get serviced while the fuel rail is off.
have you turned the engine over to make sure its not locked up?

👏👏👏
my unsolicited $.02 on the merch, you should get the c4/b2k merch's font to be the same as the c4 generation font instead of c5. i'd be all over the merch if it was the right font
It seems odd if you are going this deep into and it’s literally been thrown in a garage not storage for 15 years why you aren’t pulling the motor and trans. Seems like the only move to make here.
Because that’s not necessary.
