I would be happy, truly happy to get a 17 non-pro IF I could have the larger screen. I certainly don’t care to “show off.” With the small differences between the 17 and the pro I am honestly kind of annoyed that I have to pay so much extra for the larger screen.

The only reason I am looking at charging is my battery is now depleting quickly and I’m due an upgrade which would you recommend the std 17 max or the pro max ?
I would've bought a 17 if it came in orange :) - but I'm happy I got the Pro: better thermals in the sun, the telephoto is actually surprisingly good, better battery (even if by a little bit) - but the 17 are phenomenal value this year, barely any compromise!

5:29 to that point I thought the same thing. It's silver underneath so it won't show on silver. Nope. I have totally unexplained chips on mine, and the aluminum underneath is actually slightly darker than the anodized coating, so scratches/dings show up really clearly on the silver as well. They just kinda had a bad run this year.
I got the 17 in blue mist for an early Christmas gift. Upgraded from the 14 plus. At first, I was kinda bummed at the smaller screen. But I love the lightweight and better display. I’m really happy with it.
Just went from the 13 to the 17 pro for one reason and one reason only!! The camera!! I like taking pictures and making videos so having the best camera with the best editing Options is a no-brainer!

I’ve only been seeing videos, with inadequate information on the phones saying they’re not worth it to buy. While trying to find a quality video that tells me the difference between the two and how to view these phones. I am very thankful this will be the first year out of the last 2 phones that I choose to get a regular iPhone instead of the pro.
the pro models do get 12 gigs of ram, which will over time be very noticeable, probably in like 2 to 3 years maybe sooner who knows but most definitely keep that in mind if you plan on keeping it for the long run, i also have a base 16 and in a good bit of situations i notice the difference
I do like the ability, to make the flashlight beam narrow and more focused, on the pro model. I need that type of light, on my job. The narrow flashlight beam, along with the super zoom is the game changer, as far as I am concerned. The pro is the pro, for a reason. If only they had put the pro flashlight and pro zoom, on the iPhone 17, they wouldn’t even need the pro. Apple is very crafty but I’ve got to have that flashlight and super zoom. I’m hooked.
I think the question whether you can do light editing on the regular 17 is kind of redundant since that’s been a capability for almost a decade on the non-pro phones
6:18 don't forget that there are two versions of 17 Pro. The USA version with no SIM tray and the "international" version with SIM tray. The international version got a slightly smaller battery and I think it's rated for 31 hours video playback instead of 33. So it's not a misprint outside USA about the battery life. So outside USA, the battery advantage for Pro is smaller than in USA.
I believe in all countries in Europe. Apple Store UK got the Nano SIM version of 17 Pro. Probably Ireland as well. Both Australia and New Zealand got the Nano-SIM version as well (Apple Store). (Both USA and Canada got the eSIM only 17 Pro. The upside here is a little bit longer battery life...) Would love to see a world map or a list for where we can buy 17 Pro with Nano-SIM and with no Nano-SIM, so in other words if you prefer physical SIM card or a little bit more battery.

Agree. I photograph a lot and with the pro version I will no longer need to carry a camera if I am not going on a photo trip. And this for half the cost of a lens. And on top of that all the extra video options.
For my uses the regular 17 would be the phone of choice. For my needs I couldn't justify the added expense for the 17 Pro. Also I love that green on the 17.
I've never had a iPhone, though I was looking at the iPhone 17, because of all the interesting things it has on it. My TCL 20S - lately doesn't hold a charge well, doesn't let me put much on it an likes to turn it self off.. o.o eh.. Clumsy me ket the phone slip out of my pocket while taking a dump. It fell on the bathrom tiles and now the one corner has a «nice» mark. I did order a cover, but of course it happens in the short span you don’t have it. Ah well… no big deal could have been worse
😅 If you’re good with a 6.3” screen, definitely get the iPhone 17! It’s perfect for the average user! Battery life is not an issue. The 17 gets great battery life. Sure the Pro gets more, but no one is running their phone down to 0 (or at least shouldn’t be). If you get down to 30 or 20%, plug it in for 20-30 minutes and you’re good to go 👍

Clumsy me ket the phone slip out of my pocket while taking a dump. It fell on the bathrom tiles and now the one corner has a «nice» mark. I did order a cover, but of course it happens in the short span you don’t have it. Ah well… no big deal could have been worse

😅 If you’re good with a 6.3” screen, definitely get the iPhone 17! It’s perfect for the average user! Battery life is not an issue. The 17 gets great battery life. Sure the Pro gets more, but no one is running their phone down to 0 (or at least shouldn’t be). If you get down to 30 or 20%, plug it in for 20-30 minutes and you’re good to go 👍
