Cool. Oh and I wanted to ask something, but later, and not here. A favor. But some time this week that's not today. If I remember :P -lol that sounds over complicated when read-
@anxiety @Guilio McEwan’s Spacecome back when you can dig a hole bigger than yourself, carry something 5x your body weight and seal it in under 10 minutes
Jackal head I don't think it's what he/she means. Just generally speaking, other treats to the wasp's caterpillar will tend to stay a distance from an ant colony
She did not laid her egg on the caterpillar. She was injecting more venom to make sure the caterpillar didnt "walk" away. lol She doesnt lay an egg until the victim has been contained in the nest/hole.
You should see what these wasps do to tomato worms. They eat their way out of the live host, from a cocoon, and emerge a tiny wasp all ON the worms back while alive. It's crazy.
I think it's awesome that you were able to witness that because you happened to be in that exact place at that exact moment. It's even more awesome that you choose not only to stay & watch, but also to admire & respect the wonders of nature as well. That would not have been the case with most people. Thanks for thinking to record it!
I remember seeing one of these guarding the hole she made. Ants kept coming near it, and she fiercely bit at them. Man, i sure wish i got a video of it.
It's just a general rule. You shouldn't mess with nature and the ecosystem. It's like when you see a baby gazelle being killed by lions. You want to help the gazelle but you know the lions must eat. They have the same rule on Star Trek lol, they're not allowed to meddle in other species' affairs.
At first the wasp put the stick in the hole and was like "nope, this does not fit" then brought a rock that fit perfectly over the caterpillar. Quite smart but I still hate wasps!!!!
There are many logical reasons why not. Let's begin with the most obvious; parasitoid wasps, birds, and other predators of caterpillars are a facet of natural selection. Interfering means you are technically impacting that process. Wasps like these are also a natural check for moth and butterfly populations. Have you ever studied what happens to rabbit numbers when their predators' numbers drop? It is devastating; think what would happen if not just you, but thousands of other people did this.
Everyone is saying "Beautiful!" "Amazing!" And shit like that. Like what is so "BEAUTIFUL" and "AMAZING" about a wasp laying some fucking eggs inside of a caterpillar? :/
Bambi Lightningtree The fact that the wasp was able to carry something that seemed to be at least 3 times her own body weight with no strain is impressive. It'd be like seeing a 100lb girl pick up a 300lb dude with just her mouth... it is actually quite impressive what the wasp is doing
@sabisabireserve: Did you consider the possibility that perhaps the wasp was the reason the caterpillar fell? Maybe she knocked the caterpillar to the ground, to stun it. It couldn't have been dead - that wouldn't be good for her babies. Maybe the wasp wanted a nice quiet victim that wouldn't wake up before she injected her eggs and paralyzing (but not fatal) venom. Maybe she just happened to be in the right place at the right time - but maybe not. @Superdumbass1. Er, ahem, darn autospell! I
2:12
"wait, what the fuck was I thinking"
stripedhyenuh HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
OH MY GOD HAHA😂😂
I love how the wasp kept pacing the length of the caterpillar comparing the size of the hole
Cameron Hall yup, he was calculating how long the hole needed to be for him, the pillar and the baby wasps.
NoahTre I think it's a she
Imagine being those ants... That wasp is like some attack on Titan shit to them
Except ants fuck up pretty much any other insect lmao.
"We knew we were witnessing something magnificent."
Yeah, I know of a caterpillar who might disagree with you.
Wasp: Wait, why the hell would I use a stick? *gets a rock* Perfect!
Seriously, no one should ever doubt the intelligence of insects.
Oh shit that was metal as fuck!
And lol XD Ikr fuck the stick the rock is perf!!
Indeed ^^ Also why are chu still up? I'm up because more league update info is being uploaded at 4am xD
Damn that's some dedication right there
I'm up because idk who needs sleep XD
Lol I was watching a movies on Netflix
Cool. Oh and I wanted to ask something, but later, and not here. A favor. But some time this week that's not today. If I remember :P
-lol that sounds over complicated when read-
-wow way to make that sound wayy more complicated then what it was XD-
Awww but now I wanna know what it is!
.3.
It's rather alarming how intelligent some of these creatures are - especially when they're half as formidable as a wasp like this.
I hate wasps but i got to respect them for this.
Guilio McEwan's Space I'm confused, respect for what?
Mysterious Madame Matt
yeah youre right fuck the wasp they look better under my foot.
LOL
Why
@anxiety @Guilio McEwan’s Spacecome back when you can dig a hole bigger than yourself, carry something 5x your body weight and seal it in under 10 minutes
Digging a hole for your caterpillar next to an ant's nest very bright idea XD
Jackal head Good security system. Turtles have been known to lay and bury their eggs near crocodile mounds.
The ants wont protect its larva if that's what you mean
it's not a symbiotic life
Jackal head I don't think it's what he/she means. Just generally speaking, other treats to the wasp's caterpillar will tend to stay a distance from an ant colony

Not a good day to be a caterpillar

Ne diyo
Caterpillar turned into a happy meal. Hungry now.
It's the way of the natural world. Nothing awful or good about it. It just is.
lol she kept coming back to get his measurements for his grave Lol lmao
Lol I love when she covers the hole
What if something was in the hole and ate them both....
Ambrose Pink well I would say YAAAS QUEEEN INSTANT SUBSCRIBE....send help lol
Caterpillar: "OH MY FUCK AHHHHHHHHH -screams"
then the ants eat both eggs and caterpillar .. very good wasp
Nature never ceases to amaze me.
Very nice Ichneumonid wasp! Best greetings from Turkey!
i dont like wasps but WOW!! what intelligent creatures
It's instincts.
I remember seeing one of these guarding the hole she made. Ants kept coming near it, and she fiercely bit at them. Man, i sure wish i got a video of it.
He got injected with babies and is slowly getting eaten alive. Damn
Haha, yet hardly anyone is commenting on that.
WHAT KIND OF WASP IS THAT?!?! Bloody hell!!! It looks like the alien from alien!!!
finley simpkins the xenomorph was actually inspired by wasps like this
thank you for writing the name, i didnt want to butcher it, and im glad that you cleared up why they looked so simmilar. i thought it was uncanny
:)
Xenowasp
Love your pronunciation of Caterpillar and well shot video.
So what you're saying is the mother plants her eggs and then leaves them to get on with their life?
Cool!
That's one smart wasp
2:09 Sticks, I like sticks... peck... Peck
I still hate Wasps but she's the real mvp for using her intelligence with the rock to cover the hole
It's all instinctive, they don't have any intelligence.
If a wasp had a baby with a mosquito
I love how I was watching flynnmut' woke the f*ck up meme And was recommended this
still a better love story than twlight
This is why we have guns. AINT NO WASP INCAPACITATING ME AND LAYING EGGS!
The beauty of natural selection
Wasps are the scary, flying dogs of the insect world.
LOL, this is hilarious.
That wasp really is a big lifter on that distance
Absolutely amazing
Its funny when the caterpillar gets dragged down the hole you can imagine it screaming nooooooo like on an alien film
This is amazing
actual footage of Ant Bully. Wasp, Ants, Caterpillars
probrobly the caterpillar will be a butterfly when it has a hole
Wow how smart Is that wasp
I'm fascinated....but sickened.
thank u this is amazing

damn this is so amazing! that wasp is smart! haha
I thought bugs were dumb. I guess they are smart
Don't mess with da wasp
Watch out for those ants brah.
let the procrastination begin
Really cool video.
Thats metal
Amazing!
genius
At first the wasp put the stick in the hole and was like "nope, this does not fit" then brought a rock that fit perfectly over the caterpillar. Quite smart but I still hate wasps!!!!
smart insect lol
( feels computer charger on leg) AHHH! ITS A WASPS (looks down) oh never mind......
She's definitely laying eggs. It's not uncommon for certain types of wasp to lay eggs in another creature. Inspiration for Alien much?
Nice video, do you have an idea of the species?
Yes, bugs are very smart, they know a lot of stuff that we don't :)
Good job... Thanks.

the catapillar
I agree with Jessica! As much as I hate those little things!
very strange wasp
Rick and Morty
The wasp drug the caterpillar so he can put her in his house to have some fun later. ;)
At 1:49 it almost looked like the caterpillar was trying to hold on, to avoid being dragged into the hole.
Whut caused the pilarcater to be unmoving, did the wasp sting it. Was it dying.
How does the wasp remember the EXACT location of the caterpillar once it has been buried?
Not a right question. The Wasp will never come back. The tiny larvae would feast on Caterpillar and would come out after some time.
wasps are smart
it's still alive
Imagine if there is a creature that does that to humans. Nature is scary.
im confused. You sound british at times and Indian at times
DankGagger YT She's probably an Indian that moved to the UK and is picking up a British accent?
OMFGItzWittenz YT South African accent. Afrikaans-speaker.
I hate the wasps we have over here, if I saw one of those I'd lose my shit!
Why is this on my recommended?
OH NO SHE DIDENT
OH YES SHE DID
*****
Lol
Life is beautiful
Everyone is saying "Beautiful!" "Amazing!" And shit like that. Like what is so "BEAUTIFUL" and "AMAZING" about a wasp laying some fucking eggs inside of a caterpillar? :/

@Superdumbass1. Er, ahem, darn autospell! I
Poor that catepillar 😥
I was the 1k like lol
what kind of wasp is that?
The all-loving and benevolent God's special creation, the Ichneumonid.
I just told you.
wow. amazing
Now I'm curious to see how the get out of the hole.
That Poor Caterpillar, What a Really Horrible and Slow way to die. Wasps are Vile things.
Isn't it a little bit risky to make that hole that close to the ants?
Kaesar Sm no its actually smart. if anything even comes close to the nest it will be attacked. turtles are known for building nests near crocodiles
Do you realize that ants can also eat other insects? I don't see it smart at all
topota molder snakes eat things
poor caterpillar =[
Maybe the caterpillar can still cocoon itself inside the hole? The caterpillar aint dead was it?
no, but still infected with the eggs, so even if he cocoons (which would take up to a day), the eggs would probably hatch mid-meta.
😮 i saw its tail move
did it died?
