After I got out of the Army, I ended up in the Greensboro, NC area for a couple of years in the mid-1980s. I would drive back home to NW Indiana on occasion and loved driving through western NC, especially the Ashville area and the Great Smoky Mountains. I appreciate your family sharing so much with your viewers, and loved the scenic video footage.
Nothing like the mountains in the fall. I could sit by that creek all day! The leaves changing are beautiful. As soon as my foot heals I am headed to NC. Family, friends and the mountains---can't wait. A broken foot is no fun---lol but I will get to enjoy the spring there if God willing... Enjoy your music so much---feels so real and homey if you know what I mean. Good luck today girls! enjoy!!
As someone who lives in the desert southwest, it's always something of a shock to see a place where thick grass grows naturally along highways and random streams are happened upon.
There is, to me, nothing any better than sibling harmony. I had two brothers and a sister who made me want to play. I could not sing but God gave me a gift to play 5 string banjo and guitar. Thank God , Chet and Jerry Reed and Earl Scruggs.
My grandmother was born in Buncombe county when Asheville was no more than a wide spot in the road about 1911. Momma was born in Brevard in 1939. Yall girls make me miss the mountains more and more. I don't get there near enough. I'm fixing to slow down soon and get to travel about some.
My husband and I drove the Blue Ridge Pkwy from Mt. Airy up through Skyline Drive home to PA this past October. The trip was on my bucket list and I totally enjoyed it. I have a heart for everything Appalachian especially the music. I met my husband at a Bluegrass music festival. I live in the Lebanon Valley between the South Mountains and the Blue Mountains, which are part of the Reading prong of the Appalachian Mountains. We have nothing compared to your mountains, though. Keep this culture alive. It’s uniquely American 🇺🇸.
I could take a chair and sit by that creek all day. I Love the sound of rushing water. So glad ya'll had a good time. Mother Daughter trips are great. ❤
It is awesome how y'all help keep this tradition alive. When there are so many trying to kill the past;it is a blessing that you are standing up and blocking their way. I stand with you.
As a youth, I spent two weeks each Summer at the Montreat Conference Center at youth camps. The Center is very close to Black Mountain. Later as an adult, my wife and I attended the Worship and Music Conference at Montreat every summer for many years. I always looked for shirts to buy in the bookstore of the College on the site that said "Montreat" rather than "Montreat, NC". Montreat is so special to me that it transcends time and space. It is Heaven on Earth. On the other hand, I do so much enjoy driving through that area of North Carolina. Such beautiful country!
Our church youth group use to go to Ridgecrest each year which is near Black Mountain. A group of us would use Ridgecrest as the base camp and then go to Black Mountain backpacking. Those were the good old days :)
I love going on these adventures with y’all. It’s like sitting in the car with you. Me being older I don’t get out much. This is fun, thanks for letting us come along.
Look like a very beautiful place to get lost in and take a road trip on my goldwing, I would take my time . The music was great like you are god bless.
Yall are beautiful as usual. Mom looks proud enough to pat a cake, as she should be. Im a truck driver so my favorite part about traveling is gettin back home. Great vid. God bless. Love you.
Hey Mrs, Tipper, Katie, and Corrie... what a SMALL world! I just discovered the RUclips channels CELEBRATING APPALACHIA and THEPRESSLEYGIRLS today... and it was a joy to see this particular video of your stay at YMCA Blue Ridge Assembly in Black Mountain! A few quick FACTS... -all three of you wonderful ladies are a blessing... thank you for sharing your talents, your Appalachian heritage, and your faith! -your humor, wit, and respect for your mountain home and culture is such a joy to see and hear -the movie with Sandra Bullock was 28 Days (filmed primarily at the Blue Ridge Center, Weatherford Hall, and on the Down Road) -those old buildings were built using the very timber found on that mountain around 1911 -the large, stately building up the mountain with the tall white columns has a huge main room just beyond the front doors where on one end is a huge portrait of an instrumental leader of the American Civil War, and on the opposite end of the room is another huge portrait of another instrumental leader of that same war... however, those two men were on opposite sides of that event in history... but in the very center of that room, is a beautiful portrait displayed above a big fireplace of Jesus of Nazareth. A beautiful, purposeful design that has a great deal of meaning, at least to this old history teacher. -I spent 9 summers (thru college and my first five years as a high school teacher) working at Blue Ridge Assembly. Those buildings are very special to me and many others that have worked there and that have attended conferences there over the past 100+ years. -As proud as I am of that special place on the side of that mountain and my connection to it and its history... I was humbled when you pointed out how the foundations and some of the columns of the buildings were built out of rocks (that was the gym you were seeing with the rock columns... storage on the first floor and the gym - with those double pained windows - on the second floor. Those buildings are etched in my mind but I never noticed the ROCKS!!! And... I've waded, hunted for the pretty rocks, said prayers, shed tears, and laughed a lot along the very creek Katie spotted immediately, yet, I never noticed how beautiful that rock ledge that had the water flowing over it was until you pointed it out! You ladies are special and in the short time I've been watching your videos, you've mentioned a purpose you feel in what you are doing... well, you lifted my spirits with this video especially... and after more than 40 years, you taught this old lady something new that I appreciate more than you can ever know. Thanks so much! -one last thing... I mentioned at the first of this "comment" about a "Small World" - well, when I realized you hailed from the Brasstown area, it made me smile to see you spend time at Blue Ridge Assembly where another family from Brasstown had a huge impact on me personally and many others that worked there as college students and young adults. Frank and Bea Hogan lived in Brasstown. That precious couple worked for many years at Blue Ridge Assembly. Mrs. Bea and her daughter were mentors and wonderful women of faith who are part of my own personal foundation. Mrs. Bea passed a few years ago, but her spirit is still part of me today. It must be something about that area of those beautiful mountains in Western North Carolina. Now I know three more sweet, grace-filled ladies from Brasstown! Thanks so much for sharing! -Take care... keep making a difference... and my apologies for the long "comment".
Thank you so much for taking the time to comment! It was such a beautiful place we had never been before. It was funny to think I’d been near it 100 times in Black Mountain though. Thank you for sharing the history, so neat. We didn’t get to go in the big building, but I hope to next time. I’ll have to go back and watch that movie. I’m so glad you found our channels, welcome! We knew Bea Hogan well, she lived just down the road from us. I had no idea her and her husband went there. Thanks again for watching, God bless you! ❤️🙏☺️
Sitting drinking my morning coffee in Norwich, England. Such an uplifting way to start my day, seeing that amazing countryside and listening to you sing and play. Thank you 🙏
Thank you for the ride, really like the one lain, then into the woods, creek, and water fall. and seeing all 3 on stage, great singing.Loved that BY from the back seat.God Bless.Jean
It's so much fun watching you and your mom making music to the delight of your audience. Thanks for the link to the full concert. I'm listening now. So nice.
My best part of traveling is seeing all sights. Looking at everything I can gives me a feeling about each area or state. I don't travel to gigs, but I travel. It's never boring. It's always good to meet other people. I like your big sunglasses, Corie. It does look beautiful!! Enjoy!❤
Beautiful place , scenery, creek and it’s sound…singing 🎶, tunes …love that fiddle tune …most enjoyable to listen …thanks for letting us tag along … ❣️
Glad to be one of the thousands you took along on this trip. Anytime you show the outdoors, it makes me want to be up there. Great music and nice job holding up the bottom end, there, Third Pressley Girl! Thanks for posting.
It is so enjoyable riding along with yall and watching the countryside go by. So much beautiful scenery to see. Also enjoy your performances and the campus, then all the nice places yall stop and visit. I can't travel much anymore so this is a real treat for me. Thank you for taking us all along.
Enjoyed the video. The tour of where you played, the always beautiful music, the creek, etc. Fall is such pretty time to travel. Nice Tipper was with you this time. Could almost feel the crispness in the air!
Yes, that’s where scenes from The Proposal with Saundra Bullock took place. Such beautiful scenery, I miss getting out that way and, taking adventures of the beaten path every so often. Enjoy this blessed day!
I just love those beautiful old buildings nestled in amongst the beautiful mountains! Trust Katie to find a creek! It sure is a pretty one and I love a sweet little creek waterfall like that. I'd love to visit there sometime. You all sounded great and that is one of my favorite songs that you do. It sounds so upbeat until you really listen to the lyrics. It's so sad and it's all about a poor girl's heartbreak. Thank you for preserving Appalachian traditional music, it needs musicians like you to spread it all over the world.
Enjoyed this....beautiful scenery....I always enjoy the scenery on trips ....loved the wild turkeys and the creek ....great old song, y'all did a great job....Katie is always funny....love it.....take care , God bless y'all....
Oh my... what a pleasant surprise. I am from Black Mountain and as a kid I rode my bike up that winding road at the Blue Ridge Assembly.... as well as Hiked up to High and Windy. You and your mom's vides always make me miss home. And this one hits very close. Keep up the great videos and amazing music. I love those glimpses of my heritage that makes my heart warm. Hope to be back in Black Mountain for Christmas!
Road trip!! I’m an Appalachian Storyteller and I always enjoyed visiting new places doing a show and stopping at interesting places along the way to doing a show. Since I’ve turned 3 days older’n dirt, I don’t travel as much as I did. I enjoyed the trip with you today, and I enjoyed watching the live show Tues. night as well!! Y’all keep on Keein’ on!!
Throughout my life, I've lived in a few areas of the U.S (coast to coast, and in-between). I've visited even more States over the years. I find a natural beauty everywhere, in both countryside and people. I was hoping that I'd be able to take a month-long cross-country ride (via motorcycle) this summer but it just didn't happen. Too many restrictions and uncertainties. Perhaps this next summer I'll ship my bike to Alaska, and then ride it back home, through the northern States. There's such beauty in Washington, Idaho, and Montana; I'd like to experience it via motorcycle. Nothing like smelling nature's natural aromas too. Talk about seeing the country. Thanks for the ride-along, and the views of N.C. Always enjoy your videos. 😋😉. Be safe! 👍
Mazel Tov, on your new cd! Yes indeed I will be ordering a few, and sharing y’all’s music!!! Thank you so very much for being passionately talented, falling in love with make amazed music of Appalachia!!! When I listen to y’all’s music; including when Momma Tipper places I close my eyes flashing back to the 1960s when I first herd this style of Appalachian music! I live Eastern Europe Kelzmic! My family played Kelzmic! Growing up with this sounds touches my soul! It’s a beautiful experience to not just listen, but to play! Thank y’all 🎉❤
Beautiful drive. Makes me miss the mountains of West Virginia so much. 😞 Luckily I'm only a few hours drive to get to the beautiful mountains of Virginia. Lovely singing and playing. Thanks so much for letting us be a part of your awesome life! Have a blessed weekend. 🙏💙🙏
Thanks for taking us along on the trip. I love the area you guys are from. Beautiful country down there. One day I hope to catch your show live. You all sound so good!!
I love traveling, driving more than flying or other forms, especially if I'm the one driving. But I typically only stop for gas and use the restroom/get food all in one stop instead of making multiple...
I watched your full concert and loved it. I think the sound system was exceptionally good and I could hear every note and lyric with clarity. The harmony was so perfect and tight it was amazing. Love Tipper’s bell bottoms. I sang along with you on In the Garden. My hope and desire is that one day here soon you will add one of Corie’s country song to your gig. I think it would be well received and she does a gr8 job!!!💕
Whenever I take trips down Country Roads like this one. I throw on some Whiskey Myers put the truck on cruise control. And sometimes past my destination LOL
Great video! I came across an older clip of you two doing 'Growling Old Man and Grumbling Old Woman,' I've got Trischka's version of that for the banjo that I've been meaning to take a try at.
I love this family. Tipper! You are the first I found. Just the Appalachia Celebration. Then the Pressley girls. Then, the family. I believe in family and what it means. You and Matt have lived and raised a family of true Appalachians. That does not need explaining, to me. Unless there are some really ignorant people reading this. I love y'all and what you are putting out here. And there are others doing in kind. Just keep enjoying life and sharing it ! Thank you
Awesome video! I hope Katie got at least 1 rock out of that creek! Thank you guys for sharing and thank you for such an amazing set!! I'll definitely be sharing this video (for obvious reasons- lol!) 😎
Looks like you all had a fun time, thanks for sharing it with us. PS I see the leaves are still green in NC up here in southern Maine the leaves are changing color and some trees have already shed all their leaves.
Enjoyed another Awesome video, good that y’all 3 get to do trips like this together. Hey I get car sick to really bad I can’t even ride far on the passenger side so therefore I drive bout everywhere we travel. Thanks for taking us along, beautiful place and of course I loved the creek. Enjoyed y’all’s singing and playing Bury Me Beneath The Willow Tree Is Another One Of My Favorite ones y’all do. Oh yea can’t leave home without those snacks for sure. 👍🏻🙌🏻👍🏻🙌🏻 GOD BLESS YALL 🙏🏻😇🙏🏻😇
Love the Vlogs.. I'm from Carteret County, N.C (Salter Path or the beach area) and watch every upload! We were just in Boone and Cherokee in April and we went to Harrahs Casino and of course, I had to do the Gem Mining. lol I brought the rocks back home with me and one is a nice sized Sapphire that the Gemologist told us we could make as many, as much and as big as we wanted with the stone we found. I thought about taking it to my jeweler to see what he could do and how much it would cost. Keep on Keepin on!
I enjoyed this so much! Such a beautiful place with the big white buildings, stream, and leaves changing color. Lord willing, it’s supposed to be 90 degrees tomorrow where I live. Texas just isn’t ready to look or feel like Fall! Haha! I’m so glad you were able to go. You sounded wonderful! I’m like Katie in that I get carsick. I can’t even look down too much. That was one sad blue horse! Haha! God bless!
Nice to see yall out and about and enjoying life. Just wanted to let you know I received my cd in the mail yesterday and have been thoroughly enjoying it, can't wait for the next release. 😀
Morning girls. Hi Mama. I'm building a rocket stove today with 6 concrete blocks. Just for fun. Using my cast iron pots. Yippee doodle. Will listen to you play and sing while I work.
Amazing 😮😄 imagine hitch-hiking and being picked up by the Presley Gals 🤣👍 i can't get over how similar some of our Irish music is... Luke Kelly is coming to mind as one of our own musical heroes, incredible voice... on a more current Irish Americana note I follow a couple of indie groups from here called 'I Draw Slow' and 'The Sick and Indigent Song Club'... keep it up 😎
I love your music and love these adventures with y'all.God Bless you all and thank you for sharing.

Thanks for taking us along on the trip. I love the area you guys are from. Beautiful country down there. One day I hope to catch your show live. You all sound so good!!
What a wonderful opportunity in such a grand place!
I love traveling, driving more than flying or other forms, especially if I'm the one driving. But I typically only stop for gas and use the restroom/get food all in one stop instead of making multiple...
Very enjoyable, girls 🤗🤗

Early morning adventure, it's been chilly in TN the last few days. That horse mural was gorgeous.
Thanks for watching! 🐴
Thank you! 🥰
Very good bass player. Music runs deep in your family. Great show!
I loved seeing your trip and hearing you all sing and play. Thanks for taking us along.
Thanks for watching!
It’s a beautiful drive across I 40. Your road trips look like so much fun.
40 is always a pretty drive, thanks for watching! 🥰
@@thepressleygirls I see Katie had to sit in the back. Was she misbehaving? 😁😁😁
Go for it!
Thank you
Thank you!
Just loved this! Thanks for posting your trip!

Haha! God bless!
Thank you! 🥰
Enjoy this time with your mama !
Nice to see yall out and about and enjoying life. Just wanted to let you know I received my cd in the mail yesterday and have been thoroughly enjoying it, can't wait for the next release. 😀
Thank you! 🥰
Very cool you guys. Beautiful performance.
Cheers from Northern Utah! 🤠
Thanks for watching!
Morning girls. Hi Mama. I'm building a rocket stove today with 6 concrete blocks. Just for fun. Using my cast iron pots. Yippee doodle.
Will listen to you play and sing while I work.
Have fun building and thanks for watching! 🙏🥰
Wearing my ring....
Amazing 😮😄 imagine hitch-hiking and being picked up by the Presley Gals 🤣👍 i can't get over how similar some of our Irish music is... Luke Kelly is coming to mind as one of our own musical heroes, incredible voice... on a more current Irish Americana note I follow a couple of indie groups from here called 'I Draw Slow' and 'The Sick and Indigent Song Club'... keep it up 😎
This sound cool I’ll have to look them up!
