- Mighty the Armadillo is one of the very first playable characters in the Sonic series. While he was considered missing, he was never lost to begin with. We explore his past, his comic appearances, and even the close calls he had entering the "Modern" world. It's good to have him back in the games, but he still deserves so much more.

I love how fans picked Espio, so he decided to to an episode about literally every character that's not Espio.

Say what you will about Archie's character portrayals, but I love their version of Mighty. A soft-spoken gentle giant of sorts, and the moral center of the team. I love how he and Ray's relationships mirror Sonic and Tails', yet the characters are distinct. And I love how his role in the Chaotix dynamic doesn't overlap with any of the other members.
Long story short, I love Archie's Mighty, and I'm glad that's essentially become his canon personality. He's great.
I just wish his Modern Archie appearance was used in the games. Oh well...
I also like how Ray stutters and Ray looks out for him like an older bro. Something they lost in the reboot.
Personally I like Mighty's hothead personality from Fleetway better. Meshes better with the group.

I like the idea of a modern interpretation of Mighty being cautious and overly protective of his friends as a foil to Sonic's seemingly reckless, "Just go with the flow" nature.
Mighty had a MIGHTY hard time becoming unique. Thankfully the American manuals gave him a little something to become something great in the comics.
I am glad that he and Ray returned in Plus or else he would of been completely forgotten.
I don't think so, if anything that proves fans still remember them, and will never forget them since the entire team behind Mania was made up of fans, same with the comics they're their own entity seperate from the games made by fans for fans, keeping characters alive. Also Sega did include them in Generations even if it was only a missing poster. A person or character only truly dies when they're forgotten, and with all the jokes floating around youtube, with fans that still remember them, unless Sonic as a whole died I don't think Mighty and Ray would have died. What Mania did was wake them up from a long sleep, like a bear hibernating, or a prince waking up a princess with a kiss from a coma.
If Mighty returned in the modern era, I believe he could work well with Silver. My idea for Mighty is that he could be the guardian of Onyx Island (the Angel Island in Silver's timeline shown in Sonic Rivals). Since Knuckles is supposed to be the last of his kind, having Mighty fulfill that role would be pretty interesting.

I love how both he and Ray looked in the Archie comics, and it’s sad we’ll never see the modern designs of these characters again.
And fans loves to praise the IDW comics for their storytelling despite being no different than what Archie was doing.

Me either, nor do I give Sonic Forces the time of day. The game is so full of continuity errors I don't consider the Classic Sonic coming from an alt dimension retcon to be a actual retcon, just another error to throw onto the pile.

None of his statements should be considered canon let alone "gospel." For me the last canon game is Sonic 06 and anything after that is either glorified spin_off or actual spin_off.

Mighty is honestly one of my favorite characters despite his small amount of spotlight, his design always stood out to me despite looking like Sonic, I'm glad he's back and hopefully he and Ray stick around.
I hate that mighty has to stick with the classic games. The archie redesign is so good!!! Also theres missing posters for mighty and ray in gens so they gotta exist

I always thought that Mighty's superform, if he ever got one, would've been blue, apperantly Mighty was an early design for sonic so I thought it would've been a cool little reference to that if his superform had ended up being blue
I thought he'd be green, as a reference to Matilda. But I can accept Super Mighty as the same color as Super Knuckles.

He's got a cool design. Wouldn't mind seeing more of him.
I could see his shell making him invulnerable when crouched and letting him smash spikes and stuff when balled up
He uses it for that in the Archie comics as well. His shell is tough to get through. Characters have tried punching him in the back and hurt themselves instead of him. And guns have no effect either.
Seriously, considering the comic and Ray, I'm just gonna call him Mighty the Big Brother from now on.
Honestly, I just don't want Sega to ruin Mighty's character when they inevitably bring him into 3D.

I LOVE MIGHTY!!!!! His character is so interesting and his brotherly dynamic with Ray is so sweet! I honestly hope one day SEGA will give the both of them more time in the spotlight.
I would like to see more of Mighty's sister. That sleepy expression and those arm jacks make quite the impression. Another character that I wish that they will bring into the games is Cosmo because not only is she a plant, a first for a Sonic character, not only because her impact upon Tail's development is massive, but also because the prospect of a single individual inherenting the legacy of a destroyed race and having to rebuild that civilization and people from practically nothing is a fascinating concept.
The decision to split Sonic’s world and some characters in two is basically just the decision to use half of your toolbox for no reason. For me, regardless of how bad the stories could become, the main thing the Sonic series had over the Mario series was actual characters, being able to interact in unique combinations that can make stories more engaging. To not only decide to exclude some from this but also limit your cast for so many games to just Sonic and Tails is such a dumb move.
After Knovember could you do a video on Big? There aren’t many videos giving him praise of any kind and your channel is always so fair to the characters you cover.

I loved Archie Mighty (both versions) so much, and I’m glad they gave him shades of that version of his character in Mania. He’s like a cool older brother who knows just how much power to use in most situations, but can really tear into anyone if pushed.

Mighty in the Archie Sonic comics was wonderful. He was one of my favorite characters in the comic by far.

Sure I would like more character development (in the games) but I've lost all faith that any of "sONiCs lAmE fRIeNdS" getting their due in future games (outside being glorified cheerleaders and/or needing to be rescued).

Did you know in Sonic Generation's there was missing posters of Mighty and Ray in city escape classic. THEY WERE ALWAYS GONNA BRING THEM BACK?!?
Jokes aside it was a harmless easter egg, I think Ray and Mighty being added to Sonic Mania wasn't even planned although I could be mistaken.
Finally someone else who finds Archie Werehog more interesting than the game version!
Imagine if they made the Archie storylines into a game and you have to fight the Werehog as a boss. *Can you say Dark Souls?*
one of the things i wish they implemented was that fact that sonic absorbs dark gaia energy by defeating those dark gaia grunts, this could slowly change sonic transforming the werehog form into something that resembles dark gaia the more he absorbs the energy, and the only thing that could keep him under control is chip because he is light gaia, them we would care even more about chip and develop sonic as a character even more
Or have Sonic turn into a Werehog again and his friends having to get him back while trying to save the world at the same time with Sonic out of the picture. We’d have something for them to do besides being glorified cheerleaders for a change.

I love Mighty! He is one rocking armadillo! My brother actually made an Oc that adds to his team with Ray. The Oc's name is Jackson the Pine Martin and they're kind of like an Indiana Jones thing where they hunt down treasure in ancient temples and stuff. It's a pretty cool story line.
The football joke is pretty relevant since Zavok just got a Football outfit in Sonic Forces Speed Battle.
Should be given a red card at this point.

That admittedly did make me go 'Whoa man geez settle down!' in my head. Is it really wrong for others to have a different opinion on the subject? I do kinda agree with his opinion, but felt he was being a bit unnecessary.
I liked the Archie's version of him both pre genesis and post genesis and I really hope both him and Ray appear in the idw comics. I mean Sega owns them so I don't see why they couldn't appear in the IDW continuity and a good way to introduce them would be to have them come from the future like Silver. Like you could have Silver form his own team to better protect the future and have Mighty and Ray joined him that way they can appear whenever Silver shows up and they can be Silver's version of Tails and Knuckles.
So I wasn't the only person to have this team idea... I think Silver fits better as the third member than Metal Sonic.

I sincerely find it hilarious how one minute these videos have this really pleasant, almost gentle narration-- and then the next minute you've got this gravelly "PUMP MORE ROBOT SONIC IN MY VEINS, BABY" shout going on, only to flip right back to gentle happy time.

I would love if you and KingK did a collab. You both have seemingly opposite, but well thought out perspectives on the classic and modern renditions of the Sonic IP. A back and forth on some of these topics would be really cool to watch.

as someone who only got deep into sonic lore recently I'm watching these videos to try and learn more but wow these backstorys are actually insane
I would KILL to have Mighty in a new modern sonic game. I get what Sega means by him only being in the classic universe, but come on. He would easily be within my top 3 favourites
The biggest let down in the current Sonic narrative is how Classic and Modern are separated and there just can't be any cross over. A damn shame we can't get modern Mighty/Ray and other classic characters (like Bean, Bark and Nack/Fang). There's so much potential not just in the modern games, but in stuff like the IDW series if these characters could interact with the greater Sonic world.

I love Mighty! He's my favourite Chaotix member and always has been. I'm not sure why. I just love his design, his attitude, his moves. I never played Knuckles Chaotix, but my introduction to him and the Chaotix Crew was Sonic The Comic in the 90's. Even if he never appears in a Modern Sonic game, I hope he continues to make appearances in Classic Sonic games and merchandise.

Never knew he and Ray were in Heroes' rough draft. Maybe they were teamed with Metal because of his liquid shapeshifting ability in that game. The newspaper in Team Rose's story does indicate that Metal was posing as Sonic for whatever reason.
I'd have loved if they actually left Tails and Knuckles out of that game, having Ray and Mighty fill their rolls on Team Sonic. Like, I get T & K are Sonic's main crew now, but back then they seemed like they had their own lives outside of Sonic's adventures. Perfectly good excuse to leave them out now and then.
In the comics Mighty and Ray had a very Sonic and Tails relationship and I'm glad that carried over into the game. I always thought it was weird that Ray and Tails almost never interacted. It was so odd to me. Especially since we never had a chance for the duos to team up.

I know that tails was finalized but they originally considered ray to be Sonics sidekick but eventually swapped him out with tails if you don’t believe me read his Wikipedia and fandom page there was also an interview posted on RUclips I’ll link it if I manage to find it

I feel so bad for the other classic characters (especially Mighty) that never made it to the modern era. They never appeared in any of the cartoons or in any of the modern games. Hopefully they will appear in the movie series

I love how in a series where a blue hedgehog with attitude is the main hero you have a contrast with Mighty being more taditional version of heroism using his strength to protech others and be friends with everyone else. Like a Captain America to say Spiderman.

I remember playing chaotix as a kid and then Sonic heroes commercials playing on the tv, I was genuinely excited to see mighty..kept thinking that they were hiding him as some unlockable but no. Just no 3D armadillo

Man the Matilda stuff was one of my favorite things archie sonic did for mighty it gave him a ton of personality.

Mighty is one of my favorite Sonic characters and I actually legitimately cried tears of joy when I saw his return in Sonic Mania plus. He's a very good boy and deserves more appearances in games.
Mighty is my absolute favorite Sonic character. I have a soft spot for power-houses and I loved how Mighty just added the heart to the Chaotix team. One detail I wish they sort of stuck with that was shown off SUPER early in the comics was 1) Mighty's tick of making up the names of badniks when he didn't know what they were call on the fly (Which Knuckles called out and he later does again when he's attacked by another robot that matches his strength) and 2) the idea that while Mighty is SUPER STRONG he has 0 fighting technique which opened up the idea that Mighty could learn better moves from the team, possibly Knuckles or Espio.
I just wish he'd make a full transition into the 3D world, mang. I WANT MORE MIGHTY.
If Mighty and Ray ever reunite with the Chaotix, I'd love to see Ray and Charmy get to be buddies as the two kids of the group

Charmy may have lost Saffron, but Mighty lost his sister and chaotix a second time. Atleast he has Ray with him.
Mighty and Tilly was the plotline that I was saddest to see get dropped in the reboot. We barely got to see their dynamic, but what we saw was interesting. I'd love to see them get to know each other and work out how their sibling dynamic was going to work. Her being on Eggman's side made it even more interesting. I honestly miss the whole Sand Blaster part of the universe. It made the battle against Eggman a lot more morally complex.
God, this video just helped me appreciate the wacky nature of the Sonic universe, AND help remind me of why I love Mighty so much. I so badly want an SH 2 just for the sake of seeing Mighty and Ray team up with Metal Sonic and see how that'd function! I want more Mighty. And there are so many things in this franchsie that are still neglected that need a come back, and if there's one good thing the Archie reboot did, it was shed some light onto a lot of those things, and gosh-dernit they need more love!

I read sonic universe and plan on one day reading the archie comics but the few story arcs he had put him my top 2 favorite characters right behind knuckles he surpassed everyone in my top 10 lol he is awesome and i respect and relate with the character sega make Mighty great again IN MODERN NOT JUST CLASSIC
