Hey Pastor, thank you for these videos. I am really learning a lot. I have a question, who would bring the offerings? were women allowed to bring an offering and lay their hands? or was it just done by the men or husbands? and were children allowed to bring offerings? thank you pastor
Thank you, Pastor David. My question is, Israelites participated in their fellowship with God through these offerings. Why, then, did God bring His own son as a sacrifice to Himself? Is it because humans failed in giving the best?
Pastor Lance replies - As the writer of Hebrews says, it's not possible for the blood of animals to genuinely remove the guilt of our sin - they can only provide a temporary covering. The Hebrew word for atonement literally means "cover." We may regard all the OT sacrifices as a kind of spiritual IOU. At the cross, Jesus collected them all and paid them off. This His cry - "It is Finished" Literally - "Paid in full."
@@janeecejjf2001 So when you gift to parents just basic gifts dont u think they like it? And he is our Father God so he likes it yo you know. But ig uou gift it from love not glory.
@@ReJoyce-555 yes, everything you do should be done unto the Lord. Gifting to others, helping those in need, helping your church, all of those are examples of gifts unto the Lord. The Lord no longer desires or wants sacrifices in the way they did before Jesus. Jesus IS the final sacrifice. So to go back to the way things were would be saying Jesus isn’t enough. And God will not be pleased.
Pastor Lance replies - Jesus called us to "remember" Him through Communion. Since the atonement He effected through the Cross accomplished so much, there's a lot we can remember Him for in it. The key is to ponder HIm and what He did.
Heb. 10:1-18 The author recalls the psalmist’s words that God is not pleased by animal sacrifices (see Psalm 40:6). He says that Christ fulfilled the words of the psalmist when he said, “My God, I want to do what you want” (Hebrews 10:7) (see Psalm 40:7). “God ends the first system of sacrifices so he can set up the new system” (Hebrews 10:9). Heb. 10:19-21 In contrast to those under the old covenant agreement, believers in Christ are free to enter the Most Holy Place and come into God’s presence. They can enter God’s presence through their faith in Jesus, because Christ’s living body has replaced the curtain that barred entry to the most sacred part of the Temple (see Exodus 26:31-33). Heb. 10:23-25 The author encourages the Jewish believers to hold fast to God’s promises and not to stop meeting together as the ‘Day of the Lord’ approaches. Thank God killing animals is over. I don't think I could handle it. 😢 Thank you God for Jesus ❤

Could we consider the Lord's Supper a kind of peace offering in celebration of the new covenant? Eucharist does mean thanksgiving in Greek...

God’s communication with us and His creation is pregnant with symbolism and gentle love?
