- WHAT DO YOU DO, When the Snow KEEPS Falling?! MAKE BIG JUMPS, and JUMP BiG RC TRUCKS! The Snow is sticky, and just right, and my Kraken Vekta 5 (1/5th scale) Race / Bash Truck is ready to launch. So many of us have waited for this moment.
Fortunately for me, it is only -2c today.. and the snow is verrrry sticky...Snowball-like. The down fall of that.. is it makes my truck VERY HEAVY when its loaded up! Stock Weight of this truck is about 43lbs with Engine installed - and with this type of snow - a truck can easily weigh 60lbs at any given time.
Whats amazing about the torque on this truck is the Kraken is SO powerful, that on a slippery surface (ice and snow) you can really get some amazing wheels speed and rooster tails of snow/mud!
Im interested in the new Kraken tires that have been floating around.. I wonder if they would be any better in the snow. Either way.. I put a beat down on this truck today.. and it took every lick. The ONLY issue I had was an ERROR on MY PART.. where a Set Screw wasnt tight enough on the back camber adjustment. It allowed my axle to pop free. It was a 5 minute fix... and I was ready to go for next time.
As a side note - a complete tear down is a good idea when running in snow and ice. I always clear and re-grease my bearings - lubricating all joints and such. Also note, I use water proof servos and electronics - which make it easier to clean up after a sloppy bash session!

You are awesome! Im 50 years old and I get just as excited running my R/C trucks! That little bit of snow would completely shut down the city I live in! We NEVER get snow in San Antonio Texas! Lots of sunny days to play outside with our R/C's! I was at the local R/C track yesterday and adults greatly outnumbered the kids! We bring our kids to flip overturned vehicles! LOL! Im used to 1/10 scale trucks. That Kracken is to big for me. I know what it cost to continually repair my 10th scale trucks. I can't imagine a 5th scale repair bill! I had to replace a shock yesterday so I got 4 bigger aluminum shocks. Seems like every run is $50 more each time. I WOULDN'T TRADE IT FOR ANYTHING! I LOVE MY R/C TRUCKS! Keep on keepin on buddy! Your enthusiasm got you a new subscriber here!

Once you go fifth scale you'll never want anything else. My poor summit has been sitting since the day i pulled my losi 5ive out of the box.

at first I was a bit (a lot) intimidated by the size of a 1:5 scale rc vehicle. THTAT'S A BIG ### VEHICLE!!!! impressive, most impressive!!!! big, fast, agile, and can take a thumping( 99% thumping) that is. but as you said that's part of the rc fun, run it , break it, fix, run it again. might have to one these big beasts. lots of fun and awe rolled into one. I must say WOW !

I would love to get a 5th scale. I grew up racing dirt bikes, trucks and buggies and I miss that smell of two stroke. It doesn't matter how shitty of a day you're having, firing up a two stroke and smelling that oil changes everything. One day I'll afford a 5th scale. Keep up the good work.

Awesome bro! It's in the 40s here in va and it's cold. I can't imagine having snow yet lol I have a HPI BAJA which isn't good for snow but I have two xmaxx 8s and they are great in the snow. They get really weighed down as well! Rock on bro!

You are sooooo funny. I get a kick out of your videos. 1/5th is a little big for me. I enjoy my slash 4x4. It's so versatile. I can go from sct to monster truck to crawler in minutes.
