Just been turned down for the second time in the Evo SL ballot. Adidas can do one, just ordered a pair of Novablast. Well done Adidas marketing team 😂😂😂
@@Gramps-Media So I live in Australia and I’ve been waiting patiently for the Evo SL and Adios Pro 4’s (the white with black stripe colour way) to drop. I’ve been checking everyday on the Adidas app. I’m watching all the online reviewers getting them and Adidas have been doing small drops here and there, but I keep missing out. Then out of no where, the ASICS Superblast 2 came back in stock everywhere in the new colour ways. So I decided to pull the trigger and got a pair of Novablast 5’s and Superblast 2’s. Adidas trying to create this hype and scarcity is only going to cost them sales in the long run, as I’ll probably just continue to buy ASICS shoes now.
Got turned down in the latest ballot for the Evo SL, but thankfully I'd already found and purchased a different pair online 👌🏻 They arrive today and I can't wait to get going in them. I love that Lightstrike Pro foam 💪🏻 I reckon I'll end up buying the Novablast 5 as well once Asics get the all black colourway back in stock 😊
If you prefer a good daily trainer that is accessible to any foot type and does not force your foot or legs because the midsole is super soft, it is better to pick the Asics Novablast 5.
Great insights! It's always helpful to have a solid shoe recommendation based on different running needs. The Evo SL really does bring a fun energy to every run!
Don't think the two are compareable. Novablast 5 is more versatile, easier for chill runs, can get fast, all-around budget Superblast. Incredibly stable. The EVO SL is hyped but is good as well, and just can't be compared.
I had both. The NB5 is better, but not because the Evo sl is bad. They are two different shoes to me. Evo sl is a speed shoe and the NB5 is a daily. The NB5 feels way more comfortable and natural to run in. The Evo sl is boarder line race day feel to me. I already have a pure speed shoe to I returned the Evo sl. Also the sl does not feel good at slow paces. It’s firm. I don’t think this shoe deserved the hype in my opinion, it’s good, but not THAT good. Actually I have the Boston 12 for speed day and prefer it to the Evo.
I’m curious - would people be less mad at Adidas if they just kept the release date in Mar 2025 without any limited drops beforehand? No one’s giving the same energy to the Adios Pro 4 which releases in Jan just cos there’s no fomo from some few people getting early access besides reviewers and influencers. Lol. Think the hate is a bit funny now.
Turned down twice for the Evo SL so ASICS got my money with the NB5! I won’t be buying the Evo SL now and look forward to new releases from other brands in the new year.
Sounds to me like the Adizero SL2 is actually the better option. It's cheaper and more versatile than the Evo SL from the sounds of it. Not just you, but other runners who've reviewed it as well. BTW, I stand on the ground that the Adizero SL2 is closer to the original Novablast than any other shoe. I put on my original Novablasts and did a back to back run with the SL2, and they both have that something special about them, and a little bonkers at the same time.
And I have the SL2 currently at home for trying on and out (at home, indoors) and I am disappointed! This shoe is and feels cheap, like i am running on the ground and the outsole is slippery as hell on my wooden floor. It feels and sounds like cheap plastic instead of rubber. Despite that, many reviewers call the outsole and the grip decent, just a few call it sh*t. If the Evo SL is anywhere similar, it is also no good to me because I already have more than enough shoes and if, I would get a Novablast 5 or wait for the TR version. I discovered right now the "underdog" Puma and am surprised how good the Velocity Nitro 3 GTX is!
I heard that NB5 grip on wet surface is pretty bad and running that shoe on a tropical country where it frequently rains is a big deal. Either way both shoes are hard to get here. I'll probably wait until general release of the Evo SL to pair it with my AP4
@@finding.kent.xyrell I've had the NB5 for a week and it has been raining a lot where I'm from. So far had zero issues. Been running mostly on asphalt. The grip isn't as good as the Superblast 2, but it should be fine in most conditions.
@@jaccomusic12I don't have the NB5 but I do have the NB4 and SB2, and based on reviews and just looking at the rubber patterns on the NB5 outsole, it seems to me that its wet traction is probably better than the NB4 but not as good as the SB2.
If style, looks, and aesthetic was all that mattered, then the EVO SL would certainly take the cake. Asics upper looks 'generic' in several of their single/one color colorways. I have and enjoy the Novablast 5. Great fit and comfort.
Ben Parkes was running with this on wet paving stones. You just cant do this with many running shoes, including Saucony. But on roads, it is usually ok.
Love my pair of the white Evo SL’s. I’ve been wearing them for every run because they are so fun to run in. I’ve also been wearing them for daily casual wear. Edit: Bought mine from runningwarehouse as soon as it was available at the beginning of December. Looks like they are all sold out now.
Also got turned down by the adidas ballot. What a stupid way to promote a shoe! I do have the novablast 5 and the zoomfly 6, so I don’t really need the evo so, so maybe it’s for the best.
after watching this i'll stay on my Mach6&NeoVista for daily running but super trainer 2025? £150 adios pro3 enters the chat, grabbed a backup pair in a flash sale just the other day
ASICS sucks on their outsole for the novablast series. every reviewer says its better i will never believe it going from 2 through 4 until they throw the same rubber that is on the superblast and or magic speed on that shoe. i don't like wasting $140 on a shoe that slips and slides in the rain. My first run in the evo sl was in the rain and it performed great.
Well..I would like to see a comparison between ASICS NOVABLAST 5 and...BROOKS GHOAST MAX 2 ,or even BROOKS GLYCERIN MAX,PUMA MAGMAX etc...Is there something wrong with me?
I think the SL was worth the hype .. I think the hype was coming from the running community which already has trainers.. so it not being a do it all isn’t really an issue. I think you breezed past it a bit there.. the real hype imo came from it using a foam people like for $150 starting price. Nike released the Pegasus plus (turbo) at $180.. So similar to the SL2, adidas came into market with their good foam, undercutting a lot of other big brands, which is nice, considering they are a big brand that can get away with up charging.. they aren’t saints.. I’m sure this shoe costs them .30 cents to make, but that’s true of their competition too
Super model (EVO SL) vs normal woman (Novablast 5)? Your life overall will be much happier with the latter. Hopefully I won’t get blasted for making this comparison. 😊
Personally I find the Novablast 5 too soft and just lacks responsiveness… great weight though. I also find the toe box too roomy but the will send truck loads of
@ owhhh, i've got the Black Yellow one and it's so beautiful. I've also got Adios Pro 3 Cobalt Blue like yours...the most beautiful colourway for me hehe
The artificial demand they are creating for the Evo SL makes me not want to buy it. ASICS all day. The NB5, Glideride Max, and Superblast 2 are all bangers.
Evo SL is the shoe of the year and possibly the decade. I run faster in them than in plated racing shoes! Not a fluke either, my stride length as measured by my Stryd is actually longer in them with no change in cadence. They’re truly miraculous.
Adidas has a return policy that lets you try out their shoes for 30 days risk-free. Return them in any condition. Asics has no such return policy. To me, people should be more mad at Asics than Adidas because they don't guarantee satisfaction like Adidas and some other brands do.

@@Gramps-Media same here ! But I’m kinda glad, do I really need another pair of running shoes …. 😂

@RobertPaulson87 I totally agree, I was going to add the pro 4s into my rotation in January, now it will be the sky Paris. It's their loss!!
Yup, wait till next year black friday sales at 50% discount for evo sl #thankyouadidas
oh boy
Didn’t like the novablast 4… but 2 runs into the novablast 5 I’m so impressed 👌
Yeah the foam brings it back to life

Yeah I might get that all black colourway for work
I don't have neither of them yet but I agreed with you😊 ASICS running shoes may not always the best but they never disappoint their customers
agreed
Unless you want a Superblast 2 🥲
If you prefer a good daily trainer that is accessible to any foot type and does not force your foot or legs because the midsole is super soft, it is better to pick the Asics Novablast 5.
Short and straight to the points. Thanks bro! Thinking of getting the Evo SL.
Thank you
Evo Sl all day every day and twice on Saturdays
hahahahhaha love it
If you want 1 or 2 shoes... Pick the NB. If you have a larger rotation. Pick the Evo SL. The Evo gives me Endo Speed 2 vibes. Every run is fun.
Great insights! It's always helpful to have a solid shoe recommendation based on different running needs. The Evo SL really does bring a fun energy to every run!
I got the Novablast 5 and loving it, Adidas can f off with their ballots, signed up twice and didn't get picked.
Ive got 3 of each brand. Boston 12, Adios Pro 3, Prime X2... Nimbus 25, Novablast 3, Superblast 2. Asics are better daily runners I think.
yeah i think adidas still missing that killer daily

Hi. Interesting comparison. For my 65kgs, I prefer the Evo SL, !!!!the continental outsole...YEAH!!!!. Like to Fordy. Have a great day.
conti for the win

its fine for me better than v4
Awesome comparison. Please don’t forget to compare the New Balance Rebel.
yeah will get round to it
The best would be combine those two together. Upper from Asics and midsole from Adidas.. 😁
good shout
And the laces from Asics or Brooks too!
If style, looks, and aesthetic was all that mattered, then the EVO SL would certainly take the cake. Asics upper looks 'generic' in several of their single/one color colorways. I have and enjoy the Novablast 5. Great fit and comfort.
i totally agree with you!
Adidas design and marketing teams have done a great job.
Absolutely! Their creativity and strategy really shine through in every collection.
Hahaha, trollolo!
Fordy. FOD Runner says the grip on NB5 is great. Ben Parkes says it’s rubbish. What you saying mate?
I think it is much better than V4

There’s an interesting shoe coming from Mizuno at a good price point in the new year
I bought a pair of Novo 5 with a lovely £20 discount
Good work
Adidas can do one. Can't get them if I wanted them. Just got the ASICS novablasts instead
A lot of people feel the same

Absolutely. Talk about versatility when it can't hold on wet surfaces 😏
Would you recommend the Superblast 2, Novalast 5 or Glycerin Max for a third shoe in my current rotation of Ghost Max 2 and Glycerin 21?
Always superblast 2
Well..I would like to see a comparison between ASICS NOVABLAST 5 and...BROOKS GHOAST MAX 2 ,or even BROOKS GLYCERIN MAX,PUMA MAGMAX etc...Is there something wrong with me?
Novablast 5 beats the GM2
I have done a max stack vs video check it out
@@FordyRuns There is not such a video of yours or of anyone else! Maybe you mean the SUPERBLAST 2 but i mean the NOVABLAST 5 !
So close to 22M 😂
nearly there keep subscribing use all your emails
Novablast 5 every day
yep

I probably won't get the evo SL but I need to know more about the Adios 9
coming soon
Wow you bought a new pair of Boston 12 (the blue behind)
no adidas sent them to me as part of a trip i had to miss due to illness
@ owhhh, i've got the Black Yellow one and it's so beautiful.
