I bought this for 20+ years, when some salesman came into my high school, almost identical machine, red color for a couple of bucks. At first, I always ended up didn't stitch, sew it properly. I thought that salesman sold me a fake one. I keep it in my closet. Then I finally decided to try to use it back like literally a few mins ago on my bed sheet cover after I stumbled on your video and follow your instructions, it totally works. I couldn't believe it. Thanks a lot. Some faith on humanity restored 😂👍😎
As someone who has spent a lot of time sewing, I would recommend removing what you have been sewing first pulling out a good length of thread and then trimming it below the needle so that you can use a long tail to do a Stay Stitch so that it will not come undone.
ATTENTION PLEASEEEE. I encountered two possible problems that may be happening to you, this is my first time coming near a sewing machine so please bare with me. 1. The thread MUST go inside the needle (there is a little hole at the end), she didn't show this in the video. (Yeah I know it's probably common sense). 2. The thread must pass through FROM the inside to the outside. If you pass the thread from the outside to the inside the sewing machine will be "feed" in the opposite direction and the force you are applying to it will cause the thread to NOT be sewed and therefore it will only make holes. It may also TRY to sew but it will unravel. Thank you for the video btw :) nice music too.
I just got this machine. This video is incredibly helpful! The trick is to cut the string *before* removing it from the machine so that the thread can be pulled through the bottom loop since there's no bottom bobbin. *THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!*
To everyone saying they cant keep the thread from coming out of the fabric, take the plastic casing off and watch the gears move. There is a hook underneath where the needle jabs in. The string has to catch on that hook. From there you can determine how to properly hold onto the string
I always wondered about these, I usually see by hand but have recently taken up a hobby that could involve a tiny bit of sewing. I think I will get one having seen how neatly it sews. Thanks!
I already get this cute machine today which i order from online shopping last week..so long coz its shipping from china..and luckily it works..thank you for this demo..😃😉
guys this machine works just fine... though the stiching isnt thwt much good but its better than hand seweing... if you faced problem with the thread just make sure you followed everything correct and if th3 thread comes out then tight cut the thread in the end and do back stitch or tight the stitch by sew .this machine saves time if you ar3 sewing with a needle.good luck
This thing actually works. At the beginning the threads always loosen after I put holes in it, but that was because I was doing it wrong. What I was doing wrong was moving the bottom part of the mechanism. The string won't get loose if you don't move the bottom part and just keep hitting the spring.
for future me and anyone interested, single thread sewing machine are usually employing the "chain stitch" mechanism, which only 1 thread is required. The needle would push the new thread pass a loop that was formed by the previous stitch.
So many people in the comments say "thread it from the inside to the outside" without any context other than that so many people still don't understand. But you have to make sure the needle is positioned so that the hole is facing the interior where the large spring is, and thread it into the needle from that direction.
Just guessing, for those many unable to get the right performance, experimenting in thread routing may help. Some of them might be cheap clones of the real product. Some might need ajustment of mechanisms, or contain a faulty part or two. Sometimes a bit of lubrication makes an improvement. Mine came inside a used sailboat and is slightly different, white in color, has 'Singer' on one side, and is good quality. And it works well, but will take practice. Thanks for this video, it helped me get started.
There are actually a variety of particulars like that to take into consideration. That is a great level to bring up. I provide the ideas above as normal inspiration but clearly there are questions like the one you deliver up where a very powerful factor will likely be working in sincere good faith. I don?t know if greatest practices have emerged around things like that, but I am sure that your job is clearly recognized as a fair game. Each boys and girls really feel the influence of just a moment’s pleasure, for the remainder of their lives.
I ordered one on eBay for $2.00 (free shipping) for stitching webbing like for dog leashes. I didn't want to drag out and set up the wife's big machine to do some very small jobs, so your demo helped me facilitate my projects. Thanks!
OK guys it never worked for me just watching the video.. I watched this video like 5times but still never figured how to thread the needle... I figured it out by reading your comments... thanks... you need to thread from the inside and the extra thread that comes out of the needle should go to the same direction the stitch goes.. so if you stitching from left to right it should be on the right side... and vise versa... at the end of the stitch just make multiple of stitches at the same place your last stitch ends.. I hope this helps...
@cleo candy I've tried it your way but my thread isn't catching underneath the fabric!! So the thread goes through the material, but just leaves a loop behind and does the same again. There's nothing catching and threading through the loop under the fabric to create the actualy stitch, so when I remove the fabric, the stitching just comes undone!!
Some of you here whinge that it doesn't work because you don't follow instructions calm down, relax, take your time and read all the instructions and then try out the machine. That was what I did and the thing worked well for me.
Found a solution to this thing After finished the stitch u will find two ends on thread one from where u begin and one from where u cut off If u tie the end separately so they can't go through the holes they came in from the stitch stays Just a little loop hole I found ;>
The normal sewing machine have two spools of thread. One above and one below. The above one punch through and create a loop under the fabric. The spool below put a thread through this loop and hold the sewing in place, preventing it from unravel.
It’s really easy to use, just make sure everything is all well together, open the top part of the bin, put the mini sewing machine inside the bin and close the bin. Now should be fine.

Hi, I just ordered one of these but after watching your lovely demo would like to know if the machine will stitch TWO pieces of fabric together...I know that may seem like a silly question but in the demo you only show it going through one piece...I must say it looks as if it will be really handy for doing a gathering stitch on small lengths of lace.....i.e. for making lace flowers....lovely demo though...added to my "sewing tutorials" playlist...thank you 💕
Thanks so much! I bought one of these and it didn't come with instructions. It was driving me crazy! The machine takes a little getting used to but I'm getting the hang of it!

Thanks a bunch!!! I saw one on amazon, and wondered if it was good, because the rating had 3 out of 5 stars. I noticed it only came from 1 person, and they deducted 2 stars because of the directions and how it looked. I was kinda wondering how to use it. Again, thank you very much for the video!
Very cool, but if I had one, I don't think I'd ever use it, I have a sewing machine for medium to large projects and I'm confident enough in hand sewing for smaller projects. What do you use it for?
I just got the same machine today and i was lost on how to use it as i have never used one before, and the instructions on this are ??????what?????? anyway thank you soooooooooooo much for this i will have a good go now.
turn the device around 180 degrees and stitch over the existing stitch. or if you can't do that because the piece you're working on is too large, cut the stitch and start over on top of it and go over, you might have to do this twice. then tie the thread by hand after every stitch to make a small knot.
@@kourtsunday There's a hook inside that's supposed to catch the thread, so if it doesn't catch the thread then the needle will seem to only poke holes in the cloth. Sometimes pushing it slowly all the way down will prevent this "miss", but not always, and sometimes if you thread the eye of the needle from the "throat" of the machine towards the "teeth" and NOT from the "teeth" to the "throat", then the hook will catch it. If you manage to get the first stitch, but then the second stitch pulls the thread of the first stich out, then it's because the needle on that next stitch is supposed to go into the loop of thread that the hook made when it caught the needle's thread in the previous stitch...and it didn't. If it didn't, then the stitch gets undone because perfect alignment between the needle eye and the looping hook is a hit-and-miss on a flimsy plastic hand-held cloth stapler! But I've had some success with using it for basting, not for embroidery and not for neat/consistent stitches. EDIT TO ADD: And sometimes the hook doesn't release the loop of thread that it made, and multiple loops get stuck on it, and then the sewing gets stuck.

I bought a hand held sewing machine (by Singer) at Walmart and I was extremely dissatisfied. I watched a video where it was mentioned that it was good at sewing clothes...it was mostly good for mending....it was supposed to be a great alternative to the larger, real sewing machines. So I bought one and, oh boy. Huge waste of money. So all it did was create the illusion of stitching. So if you were to rub the stitching, it would unravel. Even if you did tie the end. sarah18497 no problem. at the store by me they also had the automatic version made by singer. one few my friends has that and says it makes it much more easier, this version was cheaper though
I have this coming to me so I have one question. Can you make a back stitch when you’re ready to tie off the ends or do you have to pull out some long thread and tie it off by hand?
Thanks sweetness for the demo. I have one question though. I understand that this tool is meant for quick sewing of smaller mends. But are those smaller mends as good and strong as the mends made by a proper sewing machine ? I hope they don't come off easily if we wash the cloth or if there is regular wear and tear. I need to sew Velcro loop and hook on most of my shorts to lock the pockets. Would I be able to do that using this Stapler sewing tool ?
hi! The stitches will definitely not be as strong as a proper sewing machine; this handheld one is just meant for quick fixes. It will still be recommended to ultimately reinforce with a proper sewing machine when you can get your hands on one!
I have it same exact one did what you said and I tried and it just wouldn't freaking work it just makes holes in the fabric and not put the string in the holes
Im thinking of making a circle skirt with this do you think that this machine can do the trick? Example can you make a piece of clothing out of it and machine wash it without getting ruined?
I own a sewing machine, but I wanted something convenient if I'm traveling. I Received both of these hand-held sewing machines today. Please don't waste your money. You're better off sewing by hand.
Nothing is pulling the string out from underneath so when I finished the whole thing just fell right out. Shouldn’t there be another thread underneath?
That's because it makes a chain stitch. It is made with one single thread instead of two threads like sewing machines do it. The first stitch makes a loop, the loop is held by the second stitch wich makes a loop that is held by the third stitch and so on. This stitch is also used as an embroidery stitch because it looks like a flat chain on the fabric when it's done. But it is also used in the clothing industry for sewing pieces together. It is more time efficient because you won't have to change the bobbin thread as there is none (but it's risky to use it because when the seam rips someday it will completely unravel backwards). To finish the seamline without the thread unraveling you simply need to secure your last stitch by doing a backstitch with a hand sewing needle.
I have copied what was exactly done in the video but mine keeps cutting the thread suddenly. I cant even stitch for long (does not even reach 1 cm). What am I doing wrong?
Does it take a while to see things because like a stapler u have to move you hand up and down every stitch or can u just keep your hand pressed on it and it continues.
Could you help me with mine? It doesn't work properly... Sometimes it doesn't do what it's supposed to under, and when I cut the thread, I just pull on it, and it unravels... Now I know you can make solid stitches like that, like potato bags are sewn like that, and it's solid as f**k, and it's still just one thread like this...

My tip is to keep the fabric tension tight, as it feeds into the machine, to keep the stitches even. :)
You missed out saying the thread needed to go through the hole under the tension controller as well before going through the needle :)

Pretty neat, I figured this out quickly
How do you lock the stitches at the beginning and end of the fabric after you're done? or do the stitches automatically lock once you cut thread?
Wow!!i thought it was a stapler at first lol
Sweetness ♥ Ok Thank you for the reply..

yeah....it really help...i got it na...
so i can sew using this mini handheld sewing machine
I have it same exact one did what you said and I tried and it just wouldn't freaking work it just makes holes in the fabric and not put the string in the holes
Same :(
same also :((
I thought it was broken , or some of its parts are missing
I thought it was just me. This thing doens't work.
I jux bought some today n it's not working. No instructions attached to it too
It does work. Did you pass the thread from the inside to the outside?
Im thinking of making a circle skirt with this do you think that this machine can do the trick? Example can you make a piece of clothing out of it and machine wash it without getting ruined?
Thank you for this video, couldn’t work it out before, as the instruction is not clear!
Filipina Married To An Aussie you’re welcome! :)
the only thing it needs to hold the end thread for a good tension. otherwise, it'd fall apart in short time.
Yes i have the same... Yhanks for this vedio... I like machine its only use for some little purposes.. Not big projects
Awesome demo, Sarah!
It worked!! Thanks a lot!! 😄😄😄
Does pressing the handheld sewing thing continuously leave an ache in your fingers afterwards?
u can buy the 4aa battries one if ur hands are very lazy to move
I own a sewing machine, but I wanted something convenient if I'm traveling. I Received both of these hand-held sewing machines today. Please don't waste your money. You're better off sewing by hand.
Yyyaaayyy. Thank you so much. I just got one and an excited to use it
really well made video, well done. And thanks.
+littlecicero thank you! I appreciate it :)
+Sweetness ♥ OMG your whole channel rocks, I just looked at it. You have a new subscriber !
that's amazing! Thanks!
Nothing is pulling the string out from underneath so when I finished the whole thing just fell right out. Shouldn’t there be another thread underneath?
I never used a sewing machine stapler before
this machine is a complete waste of time... I have one the thread unravels when you are done,👎👎
To finish the seamline without the thread unraveling you simply need to secure your last stitch by doing a backstitch with a hand sewing needle.

ninoska singh if you finish on top the thread will come out, you have to pull the thread down to the bottom and it will stay put.
People I have forgotten about that machine so please no more comments on it thank you
I have copied what was exactly done in the video but mine keeps cutting the thread suddenly. I cant even stitch for long (does not even reach 1 cm). What am I doing wrong?
This was super helpful. Thanks!
Sharonda Shaw you’re welcome! i’m glad you find it useful :)
I was so confused but because of this vedio just one time i tried and i suceed......😀😀😀😀
Where do you get supplies for this. A coworker bought me one to make masks for my family. I have yet to use it yet
Worked for me fine it is quite simple though I don't like sewing
Thank you so much, even with instructions I didn't understand how.
Hi Hz ad lẽ d NV p ad tí ko
How long can the finish threading last ?
It looks like it can be easily pulled out from the extra length hanging
You have to run it to the hook thing inside after the tension control
Does it take a while to see things because like a stapler u have to move you hand up and down every stitch or can u just keep your hand pressed on it and it continues.
it can't, you have to keep on pressing continuously
Could you help me with mine? It doesn't work properly... Sometimes it doesn't do what it's supposed to under, and when I cut the thread, I just pull on it, and it unravels...
Now I know you can make solid stitches like that, like potato bags are sewn like that, and it's solid as f**k, and it's still just one thread like this...
i bought one. it have never worked
ga. pe + Experiment. Try omitting putting the thread through the eye above the needle. Try other routes.
