I’m a fabric hoarder, primarily wool n cotton. I like natural fibres....I had great teachers when I was taught sewing. Yes, the ironing of seams and cutting off excess fabric all adds to the finish. It’s really good to have a good area of space for your workspace too. And keep everything organized. 👍🙏🏻❤️
This video is so inspiring because I just applied to school to become a fashion designer! I can’t wait to document my journey on my channel when I start classes. In the mean time, I’m watching your channel and it’s so motivating! 🤍
You are such an inspiration 🌸. You motivate me to keep on pushing and keep on trying and never give up . You remind me that this is what I want to do for the rest of my life. I’m just starting out with making my own clothes and making for others and I don’t know , it’s so difficult and complicated and i feel like giving up most of the time. But yeah, watching this video encourages me to keep at it no matter how difficult it is 🤗🤗🥺
You are so awesome! I love that little sticker that is on your sewing machine! "Be The Girl Who Just Went For It"! LOVE IT!! I'm currently trying my hand at newborn-young children's clothing, and this video was such an inspiration! Thank you so much!!
I wanna start my own clothing line but I dont know how to grade patterns. Would you do a video on grading patterns? Or will you be able to explain that to me?
There is free information online on grading. You just add exta widths and lengths to your base pattern. I don't do it, but I study fashion and design as well.
That was so interesting and gave me lots of motivation. I use to sew all my daughters clothes, a lined suit coat for my husband, and then switched to quilts, and now handbags. This made me want to sew clothing again. Love the process and the end result you showed. Very professional.
Yes Natalia! You should prolly make this a seriesss gdksbdks also, *THE DRESS IS STUNNING!* Like, i love the front details from top to bottom, and the fabric- it's as gorgeous as you!! Edit: and oh, can you also tell me about the pattern for the top? I have here a fabric and i wanna make it as a dress but i can't think of a design, and i think that would be perfect THANK YOUUU!
Anyone willing to roast you over not matching seams perfectly has obviously never patterndrafted before and so they are irrelevant. You rock, you’re an amazing seamstress. You don’t have anything to prove!!!♥️
Lovely job on this dress, the fabric is really pretty and the design you came up with looks perfect for her request! One thing I would add (I make custom dresses and other garments for clients as well) is to make a mock-up in muslin, or other inexpensive fabric, for her to fit and try on before cutting into your pretty fabric. Just a suggestion, but it does add that special touch for your client and assures you and the client that the fit will be spot on and that she will like the style on her. Other than that, keep up the great work and we'd love to see more of how you operate!
Hi! Thank you! I do that for dresses that are more intricate or that I think have a more difficult fit, but since she was basically my size, I knew it would fit her if it fit me, and it did! But thank you for the suggestion! :)
lol at 1:32 I legit have all of those pins in my board. lol who knows, maybe she got them from my board or she just loves what i love. Either way this video is bomb!
so happy to be early! I love your channel Natalia! I too studied fashion design,I hope to launch my brand one day and I want to thank you for all you share on your channel, I'm learning a lot from you!
you know how you used a pattern from the slip dress you had already made? if the customer was a different size than you how would you resize the pattern? Can you please make a tutorial on any techniques you have for that? Love ur videos btw
I think you’re super talented! The sewing and fashion aspect are great and all but you are doing an amazing job at building an e-commerce Engine. Most of your audience won’t know how to do that because it takes research, hard work and the ability to pivot. I would like to see you show your audience: video editing, creating clothing labels, social media marketing strategies and so on. I personally textile creating organic and hi-tech fabrics for brand development.
I just watched your, How I Started My Clothing Business at 20. You’re killing it! Amazing! Intention marking with strategy on TikTok, lol! Love it. You’re seeing into the future! You’re a winner! So happy to see what you are doing! I’m trying to do something amazing with fabric technology. Hand Over Fist helping new brand without fabric mills. Looking into different business models.
THIS HELPED ME SO MUCH THANK YOU!!! Btw if the top piece and the skirt don't fit then what do you do to fix it? I sometimes have trouble getting it wrong size and then it doesn't fit so then I don't know what to do.
It depends! If the top is much bigger then you take that in, but if the skirt is bigger, then you take that in! It’s just kind of balancing which side you need to take in/take out based on the measurements you’re trying to achieve
Very nice video. On a side note it always makes me cringe when I hear people say that pressing in between steps is not that important... If you are a professional seamstress, this is an absolute must, it's the base and what makes the difference between well made and cheap clothing...
I love your videos Natalia! Thanks for sharing what you do. I just have a question... When you do this kind of stuff, do you ask your customer to send her measurements?
Just subscribed! Ever since I watched one of your videos, you’ve inspired me to want to have a career like yours in the future! Question: Do we have to go to college or a fashion school to do something similar as to what you are doing?
Hi I know she did hot to fashion school but you don’t have to go in order to start your own business but I would say going to fashion school would be helpful. It’s just really about finding what works with you! Good luck 😊
I've always disliked custom made clothing that I do for clients, but I'm really liking your idea. I don't know but I've never really liked private clients. They don't put me in such a great mood. 🤭😐🙄 But I'm loving what you do
Love your design! It's always the best feeling if a pattern fits together perfectly in the end :) I hope she is gonna be happy with her dress!

Heya! How do you price custom orders? Does it cost less if you get a custom order that matches a pre-existing pattern you have?
It depends mostly on time and the expense of the fabric we choose!
