    This takes a lot of talent and practice to memorize all the moves. Very enjoyable performance and the choreography/music is excellent and makes me want to get up and dance every time I watch! They all stuck out to me but especially Samyah, Giv, Maddy, and Kirsten!

    Honestly the choreo was really bad that year. Aside from Mini RQ's sets, the Europe tour sets and that last anaconda choreo, everything else was weak asf. Like weak to the point it seemed like a high school recital. Most of it wasnt in synch, some of the dancers looked like they were marking it down rather than going all out and some moves were scrapped from previous routines and were forced in to fit into new ones. After rewatching their 2015 showcase, it shows that the choreo really went downhill. I wish they can do more femme and vogue bc it really is their strong suit

      I don't think it fair to say just based on this as it was a showcase for the whole of the palace, which yes has some weaker dancers but I do agree with your point in general. I think I've commented similar on other video but I think its combination of poor choreo and that I just dont think some of the dancers they have started to feature more are up to the required level dance wise. In the 2015 showcase the dancing was insane and aside from the obvious sets from bubblegum/duchess's/sorority they didn't use the younger girls much (only ruth, samyah and maddy who lets be honest, are better dancers than most of the older girls, let alone younger ones - all three are phenomenal) and I think they have started to rely too much on the younger girls now. There used to be alex, bianca, shyvon, althea, onyeka, leilani as well as kyra, kaea, corbyn, kirsten, jess and countless other older girls but now we have a handfull of more experienced dancers and then mostly kids dancing. I think the majority of the younger girls are great dancers but I just don't think they are clean/professional etc etc enough and I think the switching of choreo etc is too much for them to perfect. Back in HHI 2015 Ruth, Samyah and Maddy were the only kids dancing with RF but its totally changed now. They need to recruit some older, more experienced dancers (or utilize some of the older girls they have, but don't use) Parris is known for changing the choreo around last minute, and it worked before but it doesn't seem to work now. I know it sounds like I'm trashing them but I just wish they would focus more on getting their dancers back into new, interesting competition worthy choreo rather than switching the same basic choreo around, with different dancers on tour etc. I know they are a big massive brand now but people won't stay interested if they keep going as they are, gold medals back in 2014 won't keep their name out there forever.

      Hmm im kinda inclined to agree - their choreo is weak these days. I would personally like to see more of a division between RF adults and RFV - the expectation on RF is so high but they spend most of their time dancing alongside RFV who obviously don't dance a the same level (obviously as they're kids). I feel that then RF could have some crazy exciting new chreo, that they would be capable of handling and then RFV could have stuff their level that they could dance well. Some of RFV are phenomenal teesha, isla etc BUT they aren't they level of the adults - this, along with some new choreo form Parris (and maybe corbyn who I think is great at chroreo) would be insane. What was the point in making RF Adults/RFV is they werent going to have 2 crews out there competing?

    • @tariqpatelo-jones4381
      @tariqpatelo-jones4381 6 лет назад

      Yeah I think I went off onto a bit of a tangent there but I think that if they could secure some more solid, older dancers who can handle the more difficult choreo that I think parris is capable of (just not doing) RF would be insane again but they just seem to be at a standstill and the only changes are the rotation of dancers they use, and I agree, seprating off RFV (who would still be super strong with Isla, Teesha, Giv etc) could allow them to do that. There are some killer dances in adults like drew, harmony and some of the newer ones like shalom too who are great but never used.

      Tariq Patelo - Jones i agree 100% RF really needs more stronger adult dancers. Before 2016 RF would get a handfull of new older dancers. Now its seems like the only new adults are the ones that became too old for RFV. Its kinda sad to see less dancers on the auditions list every year. RF used to have enough adult dancers to form a megacrew on their own. Now they've shorten down to only a handfull with only couple of strong ones. Also, its a shame that Zena and Martina left bc they were insanely strong but unfortunately they didn't get enough spolight during their time in RF. I feel like the new adults dont get enough opportunity

    • @tariqpatelo-jones4381
      @tariqpatelo-jones4381 6 лет назад +2

      I agree - martina and zena were so good. I saw parris project tour last year and it was amazing. ruth was the youngest one there and slotted in great (because she has always danced with the older ones). but look at the tour they're on now - theres like 5 RFV members - its silly (+ no ruth , kaea or sarah who are in adults). They have drew and harmony in adults now, as well as some new, much older members like shalom and kat who are so good but why aren't they touring?? I know drew and harmony are two that got too old for rfv but they are never going to step up and improve as adults if they don't get out to perform. instead they are taking kids out of school. I don't want it to seem like i think the rfv aren't good - they really really are but they will lose the older ones they do have if they keep it up, like they lost zena and martina because they just didn't get the opportunities.

    This is soo good but it actually makes me quite sad because it shows how down hill RF have gone this last year. I saw them in Auckland a couple of weeks a go and it really wasn't good. This is 10 x better. Its bad enough they've lost Kyra, maddy, samyah but no Kaea either this year and for some bizarre reason they didn't have ruthy performing (even though she was there!)!!! honestly it was just a mess. so sad to see the difference from just a year ago. people were all over the place.

    • @Katie100ism
      @Katie100ism 6 лет назад +5

      honestly, you're not the only person i've heard say this. itll be interesting to see how this tour goes without kaea and ruthy too. kirsten and corbyn are great but unfortunately i just don't think the others are strong enough to hold their own.

    • @benjismith5249
      @benjismith5249 6 лет назад +4

      yeah im not sure what they are thinking not including ruthy and kaea in the tour. i really don't think it will that good. I'm actually wondering if ruthy has left RF? she literally missed all the NZ shows and now the tour, somethings up.

    • @Katie100ism
      @Katie100ism 6 лет назад +3

      Yeah i wondered that too - its very weird for her not to be included. I really hope not though - she, along with Kaea, corbyn and kirsten are just on a different level to the others and if they go I think it'll be the beginning of the end of RF (as we know it anyway). its hard enough seeing them without kyra, shyvon etc. but they are the last originals and it'll become a different crew altogether. I do love some of the younger ones, and I think Isla, Giv, Azaria and Teesh are really great but its not the same.

    • @benjismith5249
      @benjismith5249 6 лет назад +3

      it would be different if it was just about giving other dancers a chance but corbyn, kirsten, sarah, ling maddie and isla all went to canada too so why is it ruthy that hasn't been asked? ruthy is pretty much one of their main dancers and they've given preference to dancers who are no where near as strong dance wise (or as captivating!) not to mention she is their longest standing member along with kaea and corbyn. it's honestly so frustrating. i literally know people who went to the nz shows to see ruth perform and were soo dissapointed - she's such a fan favourite too.

    • @jakewest2604
      @jakewest2604 6 лет назад +4

      I'm probably going to get hate for this but i ended up selling my Sydney ticket - i have zero interest in seeing them now ruthy isn't going to be there. it was bad enough with no parris and kaea but its just going to be kirsten, corbyn and their back up dancers now. i like some of the younger girls they've included by i just find ling, sarah and maddie really boring blah dancers and they seem to be incorporating them more as parris seems to like them, which is probably why Ruth was sidelined. lots of people will probably be disappointed when they get there and realise shes not there.

    And instead of clapping their hands they should’ve did the hands down on the ground move and legs bounce side to side lol went from a 10 routine to the song to a 5.

  • @hs223justin
    @hs223justin 6 лет назад +12

    I’m becoming more and more unimpressed with them 😕 I was a die hard fan before, but it’s just not the same now. All the moves are a lot more simple now, and I miss the intricacy & dynamics they had before. I still love them for sure, but I’m just not surprised by anything they do anymore

    • @jakewest2604
      @jakewest2604 6 лет назад +8

      I have to say I kinda agree - I think its a lot to do with the fact that they use such young dancers too though who just can't handle the more complicated moves. a few years ago the youngest they would use with the adults was pretty much ruth, sammy and maddy but they were the exception not the norm - three younger girls amongst older girls but now theres only a handfull over 18, then ruthy and a couple of other 17yr olds and then the rest are all 16 and below. I really think they need a clear adult and varsity crew - they overlap too much and it brings the older ones down. as much as I love some of the younger girls - they aren't comparable to how good ruth, sammy and maddy were at that age. they always fitted in. then they could focus on more intricate moves - even varsity sorority in 2014/15 were more advanced than some of the dancing the adults do now.

    • @hs223justin
      @hs223justin 6 лет назад +9

      Jake West I don’t really think age is the thing to blame but rather the creative team/quality of training. I know tons of crews that are composed of mainly teens that are better than most adult crews, like the lab. The kids can definitely be trained up to potential of the adults. I do see your point though! The younger ones are good, but they don’t essentially stand out like the OG’s we know. Hopefully Parris spends more time on the crews

    • @bloodyshoes13
      @bloodyshoes13 6 лет назад +8

      Tbh I think it's lack of inspiration and exposure to dances outside of RF. It feels like RF is isolated with the rest of Auckland's dance scene because they only ever train at their own studio, take classes at their own studio, and don't really go to many events. And that's when they start repeating too many steps, and nothing new really comes out of The Palace.

    • @bloodyshoes13
      @bloodyshoes13 6 лет назад +4

      Also, they seem really burnt out. They've been so busy lately mainly with late night rehearsals for tours, they overwork themselves and don't really give themselves enough time to grow.

    • @hs223justin
      @hs223justin 6 лет назад +2

      I can agree on this. There’s so much more to dance outside of one studio. Coming from a dance studio that had the same rules, it was hard to grow bc I was only exposed to one style
