I think when you introduce ‘your person’ to your parents you hope that they conduct themselves in a way you want. When they don’t, it’s disappointing and worth a discussion not a hard core break up. I think Tim was building a list of things that bugged him and used this as his out. I do think they both deserve a better match. I am loving these LIB breakdowns, thank you!
I’m with Jared I think he finds her inconsiderate… she didn’t help him clean up when her family was there after he cooked and hosted them. Certain things don’t need to be explained… not answering his texts putting her hands on his mouth … inconsiderate but he also handle the break up like a crazy person he was sooo rude
I am completely with Jared on the nap situation. Tim has been extremely transparent about the major loss in his family with the death of his two sisters and how much he values the last 2 people who are close to him. Yet Alex's energy when she met his parents was awful. When she went to hug them she hugged with one hand in her pocket, her body language while on the sofa was dismissive, it didn't seem like she cared about impressing them at all. This is the opposite of how Tim respected her family. Also I agree with Tim, I wouldn't want to be with a person who I would have to tell not to take a nap. That in itself means they are not on the same page about supporting one another.
She lost me at the half hug with the hand in her pocket. That pissed me TF off lol - and yeah, agreed on the nap too. And I love a nap, but would neverrrrrr if I was meeting my future in-laws. P.S. He's an ass, and this isn't a reason to break up .Just a good excuse for him. I think he dipped (for the 3rd time) after he saw her apartment and had to get out. lol
I’m with Jordana about the nap: maybe it has something to do with where you are on the spectrum of introvert->extrovert, but personally I’d be socially exhausted after spending 4hr with anyone, let alone meeting the family with cameras on. And even if there was a disconnect there, it warrants a discussion to understand those differences and give her a chance to realize how that made him feel. His blow up was uncalled for. IMO he’d been out for a while and was just waiting for a reason to pin the breakup on.
@iron_Xtreme can we be best friends? I hear you, I am you!! Haha... I mean 4 hours on camera with the parents deserves a nap for this intro/extravert. I can turn it on, but best believe it will DRAIN me!! Let me nap dammit 😫 😅
@@Its_me_lash yes please! I need the kind of friends who can understand how exhausting spending 4hr with someone's family [not to mention cameras!] would be! and as it pertains to someone like Tim who feels very differently about the situation, that's where COMMUNICATION is key to understand each other's POV and see if there might be a solution with some sacrifice on both ends, not just assuming someone who doesn't feel like you is a bad person
The Nap situation was pretty gross. How can you go to sleep when these people made all this effort to come meet you. Tim didn't need to communicate anything in regards to this, its basic human decency to stay up in that case. Its okay to be tired sometimes and still do what you should do. Instead of taking a nap, she should've been asking them if they need a nap and preparing a place for them to rest. Honestly, there are things you shouldn't have to tell an adult who is supposedly ready for marriage. Grounds for immediate dismissal. And just like you make excuses for Taylor because she doesn't have much to go on...same goes for Tim. His interactions to date have been Alex putting her hands on him, calling him names and being completely disrespectful to his parents, all things that don't require communication for a 30 something woman to understand.
Tim and Alex could’ve worked through it, but seems like Tim didn’t want to. Agree with Jared 100% though. Fundamentally, if you think it’s OK to nap when my parents put in a huge effort to come meet you means we just have different value systems. I would also be out. Especially after everything he did for her Dad, shows a complete lack of effort being reciprocated.
If you guys go back to the first season preview there is a clip of Ramses saying “if I wasn’t engaged I’d sleep with you” and we still haven’t seen it yet!!! Driving me insane
I think there is more to the Tim and Alex thing and he was probably being kind not bringing it all on camera. I’m still not over the fight in Mexico with her putting her hand over his mouth?! I would have ended it there. Then she made him do all the work when he met her parents. Then her house was a train wreck. Then she took a nap when his parents took the time to be there to meet her. We have to remember this isn’t just your average meeting. They are getting MARRIED in like, a week. No time for naps here. With her outbursts, messy apt, tiredness, I think she might struggle with some depression. (Coming from a fellow depressed person). She is not ready for this type of commitment and has a lot of work to do
Meh, I dont condone a nap in this circumstance... especially after the lengths he went through for her family. HOWEVER, Tim was ready to jump ship in Mexico with the whole "I don't argue about small shit, I'll just leave...."!! He CLEARLY isn't looking for a relationship, or he is totally oblivious to the fact that people make silly mistakes sometimes, and COMMUNICATION is 100% necessary in any relationship. He just wants a perfect person who bows down to him without any confrontation or challenges. Just stay single bro, wtf?!?! Sorry not sorry, but he is the asshole here.
Agreed Jared! I am the biggest napper in the world (nap every day if I can lol, might actually have an oversleeping problem but that’s a side note) and I would NEVER do that
Team Jordana on this one! Jared you’re totally right that it’s valid for Tim to feel that it’s disrespectful BUT he didn’t communicate any of his expectations. Communication is EVERYTHING!
I agrée with Jared it’s disrespectful plus he cooked and cleaned when her family was there… I think he finds her inconsiderate and to me that would be a deal breaker
Alex & Tim were simply not a match. He needs someone who cares about making an impression to the in-laws and she needs someone who would happily join in on her nap 🤷♀️
I'm with Jared and Team Tim. The fact that viewers don't see how discourteous, rude, mean-spirited, low-effort and disrespectful Alex was towards Tim is wild to me. Alex was TERRIBLE to Tim from the very beginning of their relationship - bullying him on his clothing, his dog. She put hands on him and COVERED HIS MOUTH?? Insane. Then they move in, he takes her to his home, Alex makes rude comments about his house, meanwhile this girl lives in a HOARDERS paradise! Her parents come and Tim cooks, cleans, fixes her parents' plates, the letter to her Dad. She even lectured him on how to speak to her parents. AND when his parents come in town, Alex can't be bothered to even be COURTEOUS to his parents, and be engaged to hosting them. The going to sleep thing was IT for TIm. It showed that she didn't care about him or his parents or leaving a good impression. She doesn't respond to text messages, she's dismissive to his feelings. Enough was enough for TIm. He deserves better!
I was with a Ukrainian man who did not like to go down on women and I didn’t find it that weird. Some people don’t like to do certain things, it’s not that strange but telling someone at a party when you know it’s gonna be on camera is diabolical.
Nick is a bit behind where he should be, but I don't think he's a bad person. He seems naive and just hasn't been challenged in life. He needs to move out and build character. Compared to Hannah though I think he shows a little more class than her. She's highly flawed in the character department.
It might be that he just doesn't want to go down on Hannah with all that bullying and put down she has been doing to him every chance she gets. I wouldn't go down on her either if I was a man.
Hannah is a verbally abusive mean girl. It's wild how some women are giving Hannah a pass for acting like that. I was so uncomfortable watching them because you can see how she was purposely putting that man down every chance she gets. Her intention was to embarrass and destroy that man on national TV. She is malicious.
Jordana, your opinion on the nap situation was so well stated and you couldn’t be more correct. She shouldn’t be people pleasing if she’s so exhausted she needs to sleep for an hour. She’s going through an insane experience that is likely incredibly emotionally draining. For her to need to rest for an hour is healthy for her to know, and sounds like she connected w his parents for every other part of the day. ❤❤
Yes yes yes!!! It's so interesting to me how polarizing this fight is with the audience - I was 100% on Alex's side in that argument and furious with Tim. Jordana summed the situation up beautifully in my opinion.
Tim definitely had something happen in the past were people let him down. He also lost his sisters so these people are really it for him. Family means so much to him hense him putting the effort for her parents. I think he realize she may take that stuff for granted. Definitely could have said it better on his side.
It is so weird that I am seeing a lot of women defending Alex's action taking a nap on the first time meeting the parents of her fiancée. I really don't know why Tim has to say that the first time his parents meet Alex is important to him and that it is important to have a good first impression when meeting the parents. Shouldn't that be instinctual to put your best foot forward to meet your future mother and father-in-law. Alex couldn't even bother to take her hand out her pocket to hug Tim's father. That is wild to me that a lot of women doesn't think that is rude and just shows how disinterested she is in meeting his parent. You guys keep saying it's only an hour, then if it's only an hour how come she can't stay up for an hour and be present at that moment if an hour is inconsequential. I bet you if one of the men took a nap while meeting the parents of the women, all the women will be up in arms on how rude and disrespectful it is. You just see firsthand how women make excuses for other women's bad behavior. Tim is no saint, but Alex isn't either.
In another video she explains the nap. She said she had to work later and tim left the house so she went to them and explained it was nice meeting you I have to work in a bit so I'm going to take a nap. It would've been better if she didn't go to work but maybe she needed the money? Taking a nap isn't a good first impression but she explained herself to him and his parents. That's not something to break up over, but clearly they were just not compatible 🤷🏿♀️
In my opinion: * Tim was just looking for a way out and the nap issue seemed like a great excuse. Throughout the whole conversation he was so passive agressive, very unlike what we've seen so far from him and I think it showed his true colours. Good for Alex. * Ramses is a gaslighter, flavoured with some feminism so you can't see it right away. I hope Marissa says no. * Tyler seems to be purposely lying and him just staying silent through these tough discussions, making a sad face and saying platitudes pisses me off so much. I'm very sorry for Ashley. * Nicky D. is definitely immature for his age, while Hannah is very toxic in being so judgemental all the time. Garret and Taylor is the only couple I'm actually rooting for and I think have a chance to actually make it in the long run.
The feminism is so try hard and performative, girl you know you would NEVER take a nap after your fiancés parents drive 10 hours. At least if you’d want to maintain the relationship(s).
how about this for a plot twist in Garrett's case: no text, no 'like', no exchange... completely made up for the sake of a story line/ they're a good couple without any drama, so producers added this f*ery, and poor Garrett who already can't act, gets buzzed and adds the erroneous 'response' element... oops this season is fun, but most of it is because of the bad acting... and Hannah & her ridiculous leather jacket
I think when you introduce ‘your person’ to your parents you hope that they conduct themselves in a way you want. When they don’t, it’s disappointing and worth a discussion not a hard core break up.
