Hi Mike. First Thanks for all the great reviews!! This really helps a lot of players make better decisions about buying bags. I know the simplicity of the Reynolds bag design is always a small talking point, but I would guess the same design for all the bags keeps the cost down. Availability is probably the #1 factor, but if it simple keeps the cost as is then I’m all for it.
I don't think it cost them any more to create a different design. I think it's just easier for them to keep them the same. I understand that to a point. My issue is when I'm watching an ACL event on Facebook or RUclips and I see someone throwing a Reynolds bag, it's impossible to tell which one they are throwing because they all look the same.
Whenever they stream or broadcast a tournament, I wish they would spend a few moments to let everyone know what bags each player/team is throwing. I know not everyone cares but I think there is enough of us that do, that it would be beneficial.
Hi Mike. I just got a set of these in today after watching your review. Thanks for the recommendation, cuz I Love these bags. They are my new go to bag!! Another great thing about these that I found out also. I got the custom neon ones. I thought it would take extra time to get these in, but they shipped the next day!! Thanks again Mike!!!
Reynolds does an amazing job with their turn around times. I've ordered a couple of sets of custom bags from them and they are always shipped within a day.
As always, great assessment! You touched all the key points! Good stuff! Typhoons are an all around great bag. Only time they struggle is sticky/humid conditions. Just like any sure fire mock bag.
I love the All Slides 2.0. They do great in the heat but it's the humidity that gets them. They have the same slow side material as the Typhoons. That material just doesn't move in humid conditions. Outside of that, they are great bags!
There is a point where they just stop. I don't know exactly where it is but once the humidity hits that point, the bags just stop. It's weird. Up until that point, they play great. I love these bags.
Great review! I’ve been throwing these for the last couple of months. And they are like a drill bit diving into the hole. I can easily get by with just my Reynolds’s Typhoons and my Buffalo Bags Fallout X for when the boards start to play a bit sticky.
It friends on which Typhoon you are referring to. The one that I reviewed here is a larger, floppy bag. That would be comparable to the Viper R. If you are referring to the 2023 or 2024 Typhoon, then the Swag Bags Chaos would be comparable.
@@MikesBags yes 2024 typhoon...im able to throw flats on the 2024 typhoons with butterfly grip but recently bought some prisms and they dont flat like the 2024 typhoons 😅
NFQ has several different variations of the Awol. The one I reviewed is not the same but they may have a similar template version available. That's the beauty and frustration of non stamped bags. They can change bags however they want but that means there is no consistency. If you want the Awol, reach out to them and tell them what you want and they may be able to make it for you.
I haven't thrown the Thunder bags yet. I have a set of Lightning, which have the Thunder material on the slow side. So I'm familiar with both sides of the Thunder. Have you thrown the Thunder bags? If so, how do you like them?
An Amazon review mentioned that you reviewed the Victory, but I can’t find a review on your channel. Have you thrown the bags? In any event, is the Costello still your recommendation for a versatile, hole friendly bag? By the way, I like and appreciate the way you review bags. Very helpful.
I did review the Victory bags but Reynolds has made some changes since I did the review. I took it down for now. I am planning on getting a new set and doing updated review. The Costello is a great bag. I still love to throw it. I would say that I am leaning more towards the hybrid carpet bags when I'm looking for a versatile bag. B3 Coyote, Big Sinner Marilyn, Swag Bags Chaos, Southwest, X Level Lights Out are all bags that I would recommend for versatility.
@@DF.04 I tend to like the bigger template bags but I've been throwing more smaller bags and they are growing on me. I have my moments with my aim. I do edit out some of the bad rounds. It's a lot of time just throwing bags. If you haven't yet, check out my video about how to throw a flat bag. The last segment of it, I talk about the mental side and part of that is where to focus your aim.
@@MikesBags I actually watched that video the day you posted it if I’m not mistaken and by far it’s the best video on RUclips. I think sometimes I just feel like it’s a something else there just being in denial but I hate when I’ll throw 3 in and then the last one I’ll throw off or to the side. Then the next round my first bag won’t even hit the board
@@DF.04 The 4th bag miss is an issue for a lot of us. If I make the first 3 bags, my mindset changes on the 4th. I'm throwing with the mindset of not to miss as opposed to make it. If I'm throwing a fast bag, I tend to miss to the right. If I'm throwing a slow bag, I tend to come up short. I really have to concentrate on that 4th bag and throw it like it's my 2nd or 3rd bag. It's hard to do but the more you do it, the easier it gets. I hope that makes sense. It's hard to put some of this stuff in writing.
Victory. I played typhoons in a blind draw and they play similar. Victory wins in my opinion on it's ability to bully and drag multiple bags with it being less floppy. Typhoons seem to not have the pushing power. For me.
Sure. The Typhoon has the Pro X/Sure Fire fast side and the Sure Fire slow side (speeds 5/8). The Hurricane has the Pro Advantage fast side with the Typhoon/Sure Fire slow side (speeds 5/7). The Thunder has the Typhoon/Sure Fire slow side and the Thunder material, which was the Lightning slow side, on the fast side (speeds 5/6.5). The Cyclone is a bag that I have not thrown. I know it has a herringbone carpet on the slow side. Not sure if it's the same as the Wizard carpet. Cyclone material on the fast side. Again, not sure what this compares to yet. (Speeds 5/8.5) The Victory has the Typhoon/Pro X fast side. The slow side is the Victory material which is the same as the Karnage, Psycho X, Vandalize and others. (Speeds 5/8) I hope that helps. I have a review up for the Typhoon and the Victory. I have plans to review the other 3 bags at some point.
I had to do a second take on this video because of camera issues. I thought I mentioned that the fast side was the same as the Pro Excel and Pro X bags. I did in the first video. 😁 I wasn't intending to credit Lucky with the material. I was just making the point that it's the same material as the Sure Fire on both sides.
Throwing only for these. The Typhoons don't take much to break. If you wanted to speed up the break in, you could soak them in warm water and let them tumble in the dryer for a bit. I wouldn't use any product on these because you could take them too far.
Which do you like more, the typhoon’s or the ruby’s? I am a novice player and have Typhoons but looking for another set of bags. Do you have a recommendation?
That's a tough question. Those two bags are very different. I think they compliment each other well. The Typhoons are great for fast boards. The Rubys are great for the slower boards. I definitely recommend the Rubys. You won't be disappointed in them.

They are great bags.

Humidity is tough on a lot of bags. I'm still waiting for the perfect humidity bag.
