See when I was young my dad would have told me to ride in the back and hold that scrap down. LOL Thanks for the upload and sharing dad and daughter scrap run. such a fun age.
Reminds me of how my dad used to work. Scrapping on the street. We both scrap together still, but we haul in much more. You need to stop scrapping on the street and go to mechanic shops/car dealers. They always have cast iron rotors, aluminum, and cores that can be resold (alternators, cats, compressors) if you know where to sell them. Good luck man!
Above ground garden lol. I have been looking for wooden creates for an above ground garden. So that's what I would do with that one you now have. Adorable exchange between you and your grand assistant. ❤ Namaste
What a score and a half! You have to appreciate good people just spreading the love of the scrap fairies. Loved being along for the adventure Thub and lil' man. I am still working on my scrap pile as we speak. It is coming together and I will be off the the scrap yard soon enough. Keeping all my copper as of now of course. But the rest must go. Bills to be paid and all that good jazz. Keep doin' the thing
If you find some casters screw them to the pallet this way you have a storage for stuff that you can roll around in the garage or even castors to the storage bin itself if u don’t need the pallet
$207 canadian is really good, just looked up those aluminum dock plates, i know i've moved a few,, but they really range in price, so unless you know what you have you can't really price it.
A proper squat indeed! Holy Smokes you were weighed down! That was a crazy good haul, even if it took 2 trips. Glad to see the summer fun budget get off to a great start! Keep doing the thing. Much love from Texas.
I just know that one day, I’ll top this with my bike.😇 Do not underestimate the power of a bike, a scrapyard who accepts having to wait a bit so you can visit multiple times and someone with willpower😏
Shouldn't feel bad about scrapping that stuff. Everyone has an opinion about what you should do with something or how much you should sell it for, but you'll notice they're never offering to buy it. A lot people on here aren't truly depending on scrap to make a living so they don't understand the sheer amount of material being brought in, and they tend not to understand how taxing it is keeping up with everything, researching what an item even is let alone what it might be worth, cleaning/repairing the items, etc. etc. Better to save the time and energy, both physically and mentally, on items that don't take up half your available work space and literally weigh 500 lbs...
My name is Jeff, I'm from Kentucky In the STATES I just wanted to say if your going to take that much weight in your 1/2 ton pick'em up truck you might want to put some Air Baggs on . It will help your stability on your loads and make your rides better and easier on your truck. Anyway I really appreciate what you're doing to help our MOTHER 🌎. AND I ENJOY WATCHING YOUR VIDEOS I'M A NEW SUBSCRIBER ON HERE KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK BUB.
Thank you for saying hello! I’ve been back and forth on the idea of air bags or helper springs. I’d like either or, but the real problem is the brakes/bearings/axle not being designed for that kind of weight. The only proper solution is either a trailer or a bigger truck
Excellent Thub - I enjoyed this adventure! I would have sold much of the stuff rather than scrap it... but I appreciate the different circumstances and it's your prerogative to scrap whatever you like! Well done 😁👍
@@thubprint That doesn't matter! The other extreme is spending ages trying to market stuff (which can be an issue when you don't have storage room!), then have buyers stuff you around with no-shows etc - and eventually the extra money doesn't go close to cover the time involved! Sometimes the right call is an easy, quick cash-in! How can anything be so terrible when you are still making a profit?! 😁
Hey Thub and Wubb. You boys got your workout, for sure. Incredible load of scrap and payout! You're becoming a real $crap King. You may need a trailer soon! 💙☮️🙏
Love the vids, I’m a newer sub in the states. I’m a small time scrapper. Mainly cause I don’t have a pick up and I’m not about to destroy what I do have lol. But I enjoy the info vids and just your everyday scrapping.
I was given 3 aluminium plates like you just cut up but mine are 1mm thick and easy to cut up. I see you were given an I beam section of that would have made a good anvil type of tool to work on. Love the vids
Investigate a circular saw and metal cutting blade instead of grinder IF you get more of that oversize scrap, makes financial sense instead of discs. Maybe a garage sale or swap meet pickup...
This is why you don't buy a 1/2 ton Truck... I have done all kinds of trades/construction and scrapping... A 3/4 ton or 1 ton can take almost any weight you throw at it and only in very extreme situations will you be going over weight... They get almost as good Gas mileage as the 1/2 and if they are fully loaded they get better mileage than 1/2 tons... They also save you time especially if they are flat decks because they can handle weight and volume which means fewer trips. Any jobs with over 4,000lbs pay load and a 1 ton will save you $1,000 a day in gas and trips back and forth I crunched the numbers while I was roofing. Tip... One tons with gas engines will often have a big engine and small engine option... The big engine will be better for towing a trailer, and the small gas engine will get better mileage than the big block Tip... Old vs new Diesels can get better MPG if they are older but they have higher maintenance costs... New diesels have massive maintenance costs and emissions controls choking the engine's MPG new diesels are normally a terrible option... Older diesels like my IDI f-350 get 22mpg with the 5 speed manual (don't buy a 4 speed) they are much cheaper to maintain too (but still a bit more than gas) but if you live somewhere where the government does emissions tests then older diesels have a harder time passing these tests... Also Diesels suck in winter.. But they are the absolute best at towing way better than even the gas big blocks. Last tip... 1 ton F350 and 3500 plus trucks are normally taken much better care of by their owners then your average 1/2 tons and mid size... You can get a cheap $1,000-$3,000 truck (sometimes with a dump box) that are older than 1990 and they have another 20-30 years of life in them... Nothing wrong except they are old and maby a bit dirty but the mechanics are solid
So I take it you have found a different form of scrapping. Is this what you are planning on doing on your channel now ? No more picking up items that have a different deposit amount for different size and type of products? Just wondering.

Thanks for telling me about the aluminum ramp at the scrap yard before I saw the video. It made the score even that much sweeter.
Great Score!!!
That rail is OTM! That's the highest grade of Ferrous in most parts, they should definitely have a separate pile for it and pay more than Prepared!

Your scrap yard looks so clean and organized! The ones around me look like trash, nails and small pieces of metal all in the driving paths
I think it’s the competition between them. We have a few to choose from so I don’t think they’d get many customers if they left everything a mess
