  • With the help of a sports medicine physician, we demonstrate how to measure compartment pressures of the lower leg using the COMPASS device by CENTURION.
The patient is a cadaver. We are grateful that he donated his body for medical education.

My son had this done in both legs, he told me he has never felt pain like that ever in his life!

Interesting demonstration! Thank you. Thank you to those who choose to advance training and science by donating their body for this.

I will say, I had compartment syndrome in 2 of the 3 after a severe ankle fracture. While them straightening my leg hurt enough to mark me pass out. This is a close second to that, and I have an insanely high pain tolerance!

If this was an actual patient, would you guys inject local anesthetic first to reduce the discomfort caused by the larger needle?

No, that is not done. Good question, though.

The patient is a cadaver who donated his body for medical education. We are testing for compartment syndrome. my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diseases/15315-compartment-syndrome

@debbiegoble9836 My daughter had this done and she WAS NOT asleep. Very painful, especially because she has fibromyalgia. I understand it's necessary to gauge compartmental tissue disease.
