  • As the day of Guru Purnima approaches, watch this rare video of two God realized masters - one, the Guru and the other, the disciple - discuss about God and the concept of the Guru. The video was recorded in the Homestead Kriya Yoga Ashram near Miami in the USA in the year 2000. Paramahamsa Hariharanandaji was 93 years of age then. He starts of the discussion praising God as the supreme almighty lord and the divine mother who has raised us all. He then asks his successor Paramahamsa Prajnananandaji to say a few words. The able disciple, sitting at the feet of his master, calmly and with conviction then tells us about the significance of Guru Purnima day and the significance of the Guru. He narrates from many scriptures and tells us that the Guru's presence is always in us and one should contemplate on this presence and remember it in all activities in life. He praises his own Guru Paramahamsa Hariharanandaji and perceives the presence of all of the masters of the lineage in him. It is also a joy to watch the master appreciate the words of the disciple, joining in on the mantras as they are chanted. Paramahamsa Hariharanandaji and Paramahamsa Prajnananandaji represents an unbroken and authentic lineage of Kriya Yoga masters - starting from Mahavatar Babaji and including Yogiraj Shri Shyamacharan Lahiri Mahashaya, Swami Shriyukteshwar Giri, Shri Bhupendranath Sanyal Mahashaya, Paramahamsa Yogananda the author of Autobiography of a Yogi and Swami Satyananda Giri. May all spiritual seekers feel blessed by listening to and contemplating on the conversation of a renowned Guru and his renowned disciple as we prepare for Guru Purnima day in 2019.
