    This was such a great workout! Loved how it focused on upper and lower body strength. One request - would you please add a cool down as well as a warm up? When the video was done, I felt like I shouldn't just stop, so I did some yoga stretches. Not sure if there's something else to do. Thanks again!

    Im new to your channel and already a fan. I have osteoporosis and scoliosis. Are all of these exercises ok with the two conditions?

    • @DrLisaMooreDPT
      @DrLisaMooreDPT  6 месяцев назад

      Absolutely! I have low bone mass and mild scoliosis too. Strength, balance, posture and power are a great recipe for both! Welcome to the BHB family!

  • @rhondaeinstein540
    @rhondaeinstein540 6 месяцев назад

    Thank you for the exercises. I have a question about lifting the dumbells over your head. My PT told me to never lift over your head. He said I should do that while lying down. What are your thoughts?

    • @DrLisaMooreDPT
      @DrLisaMooreDPT  6 месяцев назад

      Thank you for watching and for your question! I'm unsure why your PT made that statement to you. Nothing in PT school ever declared that people should never lift over their head. Most reasonably healthy individuals can safely do this. If you have had an injury, surgery or other severe condition limiting this move as safe, then please use your best judgement for you body. Always, always listen to your body and don't do any exercise that does not feel safe. But under normal circumstances its safe and appropriate. AND, it's important to train in ways we need to function. Strength overhead means we can reach up to put things away in top cabinets or closets without getting hurt. The truth is we reach overhead with a load in our hands, such as a large plate, often each day. The move in this video is a power move that stimulates our lower body, spine and arm bones. It can be done with no weight, or 1-2 lbs if that is where someone is starting. If you do not have the mobility to raise your arms overhead then maybe that should be addressed first. I am a person with low bone mass, and I do this for my bones.

      @@DrLisaMooreDPT Thank you for your response. I also read recent literature that supports lifting over head so I will start doing that again. I no longer need to see the PT or else I would have questioned him more about his statement. Love your exercises.
