We used no artificial lights, gimbals or heavy duty lenses. We just wanted to make it hardcore indie and tell a story. Revisiting this old collaboration with amazing Swastik The Band who let me direct it for them. This was when indie music video scene really started to kick off. Sadly, now the videos from Himachal and Chandigarh are more like long tourism and luxury car commercials. Drones and the wannabe attitude has killed it. We have a long way to go. Thanks for all the encouraging comments. Always support the real 💛
It's so good to see an Indian band putting effort in the video...audio and video both checkboxes are ticked and in some fashion. Strings and other Pak bands are an inspiration for us when we look at the band culture here in India. Loved it Joshiji.
I was born and brought up in a Buddhist family but with time I have my own beliefs and opinion. The point here is that Buddhism never forces anyone to accept forcefully as it is shown on it. above all this song is beautiful. 🌻Appreciated.
I plugged in my headphones and played a song on Spotify and closed my eyes and I slept. After about 32 minutes I suddenly woke up and the autoplay feature was playing similar songs and the song that was playing then was Jogi. I woke up, rubbed my eyes, played this song on loop for 30 more minutes. Serendipity at its best. Words fall short to describe the depth of this beautiful gem💗 Truly, music at its finest! यस गीतमा भएको गहिराईलाई शब्दमा बयान गर्न गाह्रो छ। हरेक सुरले मन छुन्छ!💖
You guys won't believe , but this song was played on MTV INDIES about 4-5 years ago... I don't know how but when i heard word "Swastik" , first thing that came into my mind was "Swastik The Band" . Glad i can feel this nostalgia, literally this band is so underrated...
A truly amazing song! I sometimes wonder how songs like "taang utha ke" and other such songs get millions of views while some really beautiful songs go un-noticed because of lesser stardom or no nudity but then "achi kala ki ijjat karna bhi ek kala hai". Edit: 04/03/2021- Thank you for the likes and comments below, I appreciate it. Though what I have come to realise in the 4 years since the original comment is a little contrary to some of the comments below. Sure people have different taste in music, some like ‘tang utha ke’, while some like ‘Jogi’, but that doesn’t make the latter one a better person and the other one a bad person or vice versa. Every person has a different level of spirituality, not everyone is keen at looking inside themselves and understanding their emotions, that doesn’t make them ‘good’ and the others ‘bad’. ‘Goodness’ and ‘Badness’ and subjective terms reflected through your behaviour and not through your music taste or your taste in any art. I fell in love with a girl whose taste in music was different than mine, but she was open to listening to my type of songs and I was open to listening to her type of songs. I believe that the truest artistic sense is reflected through one’s openness of acceptance of other people- their life, their behaviour, their taste in art etc. Listening to songs like this video and ignoring ‘tang utha ke’ but still having hate for others in your heart won’t make you different from the ones who do listen to ‘tang utha ke’, it is how accepting you are of others. And who knows, maybe one of the people you introduce this song to might find their solace in it or you might find solace in their songs. That girl and I are not together anymore but I still listen to her songs as I am sure that she still listens to Jogi on her bad days.
These types of bands should be encouraged and people should become more aware of their work.We have some very talented bands in india and by appreciating their work can we ensure that they continue to produce such soul touching melodies.Get rid of the honey singh bull shit and start listening to them.
Exactly! Even the music is worth clinging to. These Indian bands are so much of talent and originality. Heartfelt respect for Swastik, the local train and other Indian bands.
I don’t know what made you think like this but you have misunderstood the concept of Buddhism. Buddhist monks are definitely disciplined but never do they intervene in the path of aggression or violence. We believe a human should be compassionate and kind, and this is a personal choice which we make for ourselves. No one is forced upon to take this path,everyone is free to choose what they believe in . The song however was excellently composed🙂
I understand what you say, but from what I have observed from days in Himachal and Tawang, and even in Vaishali, it had become the norm to send one of the kids to the monsatry for busshist teachings. Not all kid would love that and this song is trying to encompass that. Brilliant song nonetheless.
Raul Singh hi I had no idea people there forced their kids however it’s the misdeed of the person forcing the child (irrespective of their religion) but the video was kind of portraying the monks getting aggressive with the kid and as far as I know that is wrong. I am a Buddhist to my core and I felt a bit disappointed when I saw the video.my family has a long history of monks and as far as I know I don’t remember them being so harsh , they’ve always been so warm and kind.But if the situations at your place resemble the motive of the video I feel remorseful and sad, not all are like that. Hope you have a great day ahead
@@chodenlabhutiapvzfflwnrh3555 ofcourse, not all are like that. I've met monks who are kinder to me then my family would be. I just felt that this too is a reality and there is nothing wrong in showing it. It all comes down to your personality i think. I look at glass half empty more. Have a good day and thank you for staying civil.
In Himachal and in some other Himalayan states of India, it is a tradition to raise one kid as a Buddhist. And it is like sending your kid to school, the kid protests against it, and you push him. It's not like torturing him to accept Buddhism. He's just going there to learn Buddhist way of life. When he grows up, it's upto him, if he wants to continue as a Buddhist or something else.
Bro don't blame pop culture, it's all about fixing things in a right way at the right place, this track also has pop vibes but in a very subtle way so it sounds so different and pure. 😃😃
Man Rightly said .. i don't hate pop music , but every mainstream music is pop nowadays. Even western music. Look at 70s and 80s music we had pop star like michael jackson and rock bands like Led Zeppelin too .
I'm so lucky that i came across this masterpiece... I feel so much bad when artists like this are underrated and then people complain about not having good music in India...

the real fact is people dont appreciate real hardcore bands , i had my own band back in college days , we went to a reputed insitute for competing , we played an original composition which was a mixture of indian classical fusion with western rnb , and the band which played humma humma won the prize , judges said you took a lot of time for stage set up , this was the most shittiest excuse ever heard , just bcs he didnt liked the music he didnt gave us a prize , people dont appreciate the real talent and just enjoy bollywood very much , anyways ill keep on playing music my whole life but the band part is over .

"Jogi" and "main chahta hun" are all time favourite songs from this beautiful band "swastik" one of few amazing bands of India, want them to make such amazing songs more and more. The electrifying combo of drum, flute, guitar is superb in both the songs, I just have a dream of them singing lyrics written by me once before I die
Whenever I listen this song really I miss her and I never forget her she is still In my heart I never forget the movement you gave once again rest in peace heaven and she is still In my heart...I and thank you the swastik band for made a beautiful India classical rock love from Darjeeling

Why is this song only 6 million views in a country of 1440 million people... please support indian bands and their original composing.
i wish i can see such great indian bands at billboards and grammys
I used to listen to these band like agam,raeth ,local train.but sadly all these creative bands have vanished with time.only nostalgia is left.
@@ZeN__iTh same man
the real fact is people dont appreciate real hardcore bands , i had my own band back in college days , we went to a reputed insitute for competing , we played an original composition which was a mixture of indian classical fusion with western rnb , and the band which played humma humma won the prize , judges said you took a lot of time for stage set up , this was the most shittiest excuse ever heard , just bcs he didnt liked the music he didnt gave us a prize , people dont appreciate the real talent and just enjoy bollywood very much , anyways ill keep on playing music my whole life but the band part is over .
Lyrics :
Jogi tere pyaar mein, main to jogan ho gai ve;
O jogi tere pyaar mein, main to jogan ho gai ve,
Tod ke duniya ke bandhan, main to tujh mein kho gai ve,
Jogi tere pyaar mein, main to jogan ho gai ve;
Ab nahi hai kuch bhi mumkin, tu nahi hai to kya hai,
Ab nahi hai kuch bhi mumkin, tu nahi hai to kya hai,
Tuti thi aur uljhi thi mein, ab toh puri ho gayi ve;
Jogi tere pyaar mein, main to jogan ho gai ve,
Tod ke duniya ke bandhan, main to tujh mein kho gai ve,
Jogi tere pyaar mein, main to jogan ho gai ve;
Zindagi hai bas do saansen,
Zindagi hai bas do saansen,
Zindagi hai bas do saansen maine tere naam ki,
Naam tera lekar na aaye, saans woh kis kaam ki;
Yaar mere jind jaan meri tere naam mein kar gayi ve,
Yaar mere jind jaan meri tere naam mein kar gayi ve,
Yaar mere jind jaan meri tere naam mein kar gayi ve,
Yaar mere jind jaan meri tere naam mein kar gayi ve;
Dhadkano ki in saanso se ab toh an ban ho gayi ve
Dhadkano ki in saanso se ab toh an ban ho gayi ve
Jogi tere pyaar mein, mein to jogan ho gai ve,
Tod ke duniya ke bandhan, mein to tujh mein kho gai ve,
Jogi tere pyaar mein, mein to jogan ho gai ve;
