I don't really understand drag but that's OK, I know that drag adds to some people's lives while harming nobody, so drag adds to the total happiness in the universe. I've been on an 80s music kick lately, listening to albums I missed during that era. I wish I'd realized back then just how fantastic the band "Concrete Blonde" was, especially their album "Bloodletting". Every song hits, even though "Joey" is pretty much the only song that was played on the radio. There's a song they wrote called "Tomorrow, Wendy" that addresses the death of a friend from AIDS. Some of the lyrics bowled me over, had to go back and re-listen several times: "I told the priest Don't count on any second coming God got his ass kicked the first time He came down here slumming. unironically this album is one of the best I've heard from any vocal artist, Christian or not! I rarely listen to random albums I find on repeat, but this one resonated with me in a very deep and profound way. I relate a lot as someone who grew up in the church and didn't always fit in the boxes others around me expected.

Back in the day, Derek was in a Christian music group called Caedmon's Call. They made some really beautiful music that focused love and acceptance. Derek is one of those few Christians who follow the actual teachings of Jesus and not the ramblings of lunatic fascists, I have much respect.

I personally like Gregorian Chanting a lot. And some of the black spirituals were great. In fact, the music of Gospel singer Rosetta Sharp is considered to be one of the main influences on what would become Rock music. But the genre known as Christian rock (rap, etc.) is the opposite of that. Instead of creating music that other genres of music are derived from, they create music that is totally derivative of other genres. This song, however, harken back to the days when Christian music was innovative. Evan I can tell the difference, and I'm not even a Christian.

You think fighting for your lives is the same as endangering lives?! Protesting against racist police brutality and murders and human rights activism is NOT the same as endangering your neighbours recklessly in the name of God, using the name of God to excuse endangering people's lives in a irresponsible manner! BLM protests were about saving lives. The concerts killed people. The protests were necessary. The concerts were not. We had zoom. Many churches did services and Bible study groups on zoom. Why do we celebrate trauma when it’s wrapped up in the world’s pretty package? Answer: We are all sinful. To say that everyone is living “their best life” because they look the way they do on the outside, is a mislead on our part. We can’t paint everyone with one broad stroke. There is such a thing as separation of self when it comes to trauma. Trauma in general can lead to sin. ie alcoholism, sex, drugs, abuse etc. All people, all sinful people including us Christians, are the same in sin. What we strive for which should be in Christ and His Holy righteousness only, determines our fruit. To say during a time of struggle in seeking God and a constant removal of sin isnt hard, we are lying to ourselves. A lot of times lesson/tests from God we are in His process. He is honing us out of it or we are working against Him. As His creation we are all works in progress. When we are so deep in that very sin because we sown it so deeply, causes us to either run outward to Him or inward to ourselves in those hard times. It creating morales. Unsavory or His goodness. We can deceive ourselves and those around us. It is part of our sinful nature. Christ calls us to deny ourselves and take up our crosses. We are not to store up our treasures here on earth but store them up in heaven, in Christ. If you look like the world and are accepted, the world is in your heart. Not Him. John 15:19 19 If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. Hate is a strong word in today’s world. We forget that it also means to denounce something. Look up the synonym definition: “Anathema.”We should hate what God hates, which is sin. Hating sin so much you remove it from your life and replace it with only Him. Again, God Hates sin. He loves His creation. If He hated you as a person, you wouldn’t be here. You would be all kinds of evil. But then again, freewill and sin can run rampant in our fallen world because of Him giving us choice and satan’s dominion. Reference the book of Job in scripture. When you live in sin you become what you seek. Look at what happened to the Son of Judah. Er. 1 Chronicles 2:3 The sons of Judah were Er, Onan, and Shelah. These three were born to him by the daughter of Shua, the Canaanitess. Er, the firstborn of Judah, was wicked in the sight of the LORD; so He killed him. God is so patient and not on the human level either. Greater. His ways aren’t ways, our thoughts aren’t His thoughts. We are finite. He is The Potter we are the clay. So to be evil in human eyes versus to be evil in God’s, pretty unthinkable and speakable kind of evil this Er was. When we live in sin we become evil. It’s a domino effect. You consent to it. You replace Him with yourself. You are your own god according to you. No accountability. A stubbornness grows. No other gods before Him. That is the 2nd commandment. He is a jealous God: as any creator of anything should be. He is The Creator of everything. His rightful place should be 1st Always. Deuteronomy 4:23-24 So watch yourselves, that you do not forget the covenant of the Lord your God which He made with you, and make for yourselves a graven image in the form of anything against which the Lord your God has commanded you. For the Lord your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God. What seed you choose to grow is the fruit you will bare. With sin as your seed, God, after awhile, gives you over to your heart and desire because that’s what Him giving us choice and freewill looks like. If you love something you let it go. A Righteous, Just, and loving God does not want that for you let alone to be in it. He as The Father, loves you that much. Sin in Isaiah is described as filthy rags. Isaiah 64:6 But we are all like an unclean thing, And all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags; We all fade as a leaf, And our iniquities, like the wind, Have taken us away. We are only made clean in Christ Jesus because we are a fallen lot. He died for those sins, so when we put our trust in Him and not in ourselves we are made whole in Him. He is the 2nd Adam. Those who seek themselves are in the 1st Adam and the wages of sin is death. So after you die, you stay dead (hell) versus living in for all eternity with our creator (heaven) Sin leads to death and destruction in us and to those around us. More importantly it angers The Lord and is against Him and His Ways. We are rebelling. To be a Christian is not to speak of “me” and what the world deems as “comfort”, it’s the opposite. For not aligning with the world, we as Christians are wrong or evil. We are not to tickle ears and appease. To hate someone is to allow them to die forever. It’s like you are flying out of a plane 1,000’s of feet in the air and your parachute won’t open and that parachute you always had but we are called to help you open it. That parachute is Christ. That’s how much we need to Love to show Christ’s love. When we are in ourselves, how is pointing to “me” bringing value and glory to The Kingdom? To deny yourself (not practicing being in self) and focusing on God is obedient, showing faithfulness, and love to Him. If the world accepts you, you are of the world. To say sin can’t corrupt a church goes against scripture. In Revelation, there will be apostate churches. Because we are all sinners and are easily corrupted without Christ or walking trusting in Him (denying our sin), satan and our sin can take hold. No matter where you are in your journey it can happen if you aren’t in scripture and allowing Him to guide your steps. People in Christ will bare His fruit. They will walk in His ways and humble themselves before Him just as our humbled loving selfless Christ willingly gave himself up on that cross for those very sins, so when we die we arent separated from the Creator. Jesus is the redeeming bridge to Him. If you love God wholeheartedly and are a Christian, that is your only identity. satan convinces you otherwise. Back in the day, Derek was in a Christian music group called Caedmon's Call. They made some really beautiful music that focused love and acceptance. Derek is one of those few Christians who follow the actual teachings of Jesus and not the ramblings of lunatic fascists, I have much respect.

It's not like Christians can't make good music. I personally like Gregorian Chanting a lot. And some of the black spirituals were great.
In fact, the music of Gospel singer Rosetta Sharp is considered to be one of the main influences on what would become Rock music.
But the genre known as Christian rock (rap, etc.) is the opposite of that. Instead of creating music that other genres of music are derived from, they create music that is totally derivative of other genres.

BLM protests were about saving lives. The concerts killed people. The protests were necessary. The concerts were not. We had zoom. Many churches did services and Bible study groups on zoom. Protests can't happen on zoom. The protests happened due to very extreme circumstances and under duress. If it hadn't been so important covid restrictions would have followed. Also protestors were masked (not so at the concert)

Why do we celebrate trauma when it’s wrapped up in the world’s pretty package? Answer: We are all sinful. To say that everyone is living “their best life” because they look the way they do on the outside, is a mislead on our part. We can’t paint everyone with one broad stroke. There is such a thing as separation of self when it comes to trauma. Trauma in general can lead to sin. ie alcoholism, sex, drugs, abuse etc. All people, all sinful people including us Christians, are the same in sin. What we strive for which should be in Christ and His Holy righteousness only, determines our fruit.
To say during a time of struggle in seeking God and a constant removal of sin isnt hard, we are lying to ourselves. A lot of times lesson/tests from God we are in His process. He is honing us out of it or we are working against Him. As His creation we are all works in progress. When we are so deep in that very sin because we sown it so deeply, causes us to either run outward to Him or inward to ourselves in those hard times. It creating morales. Unsavory or His goodness. We can deceive ourselves and those around us. It is part of our sinful nature.
Christ calls us to deny ourselves and take up our crosses. We are not to store up our treasures here on earth but store them up in heaven, in Christ. If you look like the world and are accepted, the world is in your heart. Not Him.

Hate is a strong word in today’s world. We forget that it also means to denounce something. Look up the synonym definition: “Anathema.”We should hate what God hates, which is sin. Hating sin so much you remove it from your life and replace it with only Him. Again, God Hates sin. He loves His creation. If He hated you as a person, you wouldn’t be here. You would be all kinds of evil. But then again, freewill and sin can run rampant in our fallen world because of Him giving us choice and satan’s dominion. Reference the book of Job in scripture.
When you live in sin you become what you seek. Look at what happened to the Son of Judah. Er.

When we live in sin we become evil. It’s a domino effect. You consent to it. You replace Him with yourself. You are your own god according to you. No accountability. A stubbornness grows. No other gods before Him. That is the 2nd commandment. He is a jealous God: as any creator of anything should be. He is The Creator of everything. His rightful place should be 1st Always.

What seed you choose to grow is the fruit you will bare. With sin as your seed, God, after awhile, gives you over to your heart and desire because that’s what Him giving us choice and freewill looks like. If you love something you let it go. A Righteous, Just, and loving God does not want that for you let alone to be in it. He as The Father, loves you that much.
Sin in Isaiah is described as filthy rags.

But we are all like an unclean thing, And all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags; We all fade as a leaf, And our iniquities, like the wind, Have taken us away.
We are only made clean in Christ Jesus because we are a fallen lot. He died for those sins, so when we put our trust in Him and not in ourselves we are made whole in Him. He is the 2nd Adam. Those who seek themselves are in the 1st Adam and the wages of sin is death. So after you die, you stay dead (hell) versus living in for all eternity with our creator (heaven)
Sin leads to death and destruction in us and to those around us. More importantly it angers The Lord and is against Him and His Ways. We are rebelling.
To be a Christian is not to speak of “me” and what the world deems as “comfort”, it’s the opposite. For not aligning with the world, we as Christians are wrong or evil. We are not to tickle ears and appease. To hate someone is to allow them to die forever. It’s like you are flying out of a plane 1,000’s of feet in the air and your parachute won’t open and that parachute you always had but we are called to help you open it. That parachute is Christ. That’s how much we need to Love to show Christ’s love.
When we are in ourselves, how is pointing to “me” bringing value and glory to The Kingdom? To deny yourself (not practicing being in self) and focusing on God is obedient, showing faithfulness, and love to Him.
If the world accepts you, you are of the world. To say sin can’t corrupt a church goes against scripture. In Revelation, there will be apostate churches. Because we are all sinners and are easily corrupted without Christ or walking trusting in Him (denying our sin), satan and our sin can take hold. No matter where you are in your journey it can happen if you aren’t in scripture and allowing Him to guide your steps.
People in Christ will bare His fruit. They will walk in His ways and humble themselves before Him just as our humbled loving selfless Christ willingly gave himself up on that cross for those very sins, so when we die we arent separated from the Creator. Jesus is the redeeming bridge to Him. If you love God wholeheartedly and are a Christian, that is your only identity. satan convinces you otherwise.
