I don't really understand drag but that's OK, I know that drag adds to some people's lives while harming nobody, so drag adds to the total happiness in the universe. A universe with more happiness is better than a universe with less happiness, so I celebrate drag along with the queeniest of drag queens.
Understanding is overrated, and compassion is underrated.

Fundamentalists stop dumping on Amy because she doesn’t live up to your expectations of what she should be. God loves her and loves you. She has the right to grow past your doctrine and dogma and she has. This has been going on since she did pop songs. Same thing happened to Sam (Leslie) Phillips when she began doing her wonderful little songs. Christian book stores in the south wouldn’t stock the music of Margaret Brecker because she was Catholic.

I've been on an 80s music kick lately, listening to albums I missed during that era. I wish I'd realized back then just how fantastic the band "Concrete Blonde" was, especially their album "Bloodletting". Every song hits, even though "Joey" is pretty much the only song that was played on the radio.
There's a song they wrote called "Tomorrow, Wendy" that addresses the death of a friend from AIDS.
Some of the lyrics bowled me over, had to go back and re-listen several times:
    "I told the priest
Don't count on any second coming
God got his ass kicked the first time
    He came down here slumming.
He had the balls to come
The gall to die and then forgive us
No I don't wonder why, I wonder what
He thought it would get us
Yeah, goodbye tomorrow Wendy is going to die.
    Only God says jump
    But I set the time
'cause if he ever saw it
It was through these eyes of mine
    And if he ever suffered
It was me who did his crying
    Yeah goodbye
Tomorrow Wendy is going to die."

Obviously, people who do not ordinarily buy "Christian music" are buying this, and that is why it is so high in the charts.
It's not like Christians can't make good music. I personally like Gregorian Chanting a lot. And some of the black spirituals were great.
In fact, the music of Gospel singer Rosetta Sharp is considered to be one of the main influences on what would become Rock music.
But the genre known as Christian rock (rap, etc.) is the opposite of that. Instead of creating music that other genres of music are derived from, they create music that is totally derivative of other genres.
This song, however, harken back to the days when Christian music was innovative.

God welcomes people of all genders and sexual identities. “There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” (Galatians 3:28) Also “…God has shown me that I should not call anyone impure or unclean.” (Acts 10:28) Jesus gladly socialized with people that the religious establishment disapproved of. (Matt 9:11)

The Church needs its LGBTQ members. “The human body has many parts, but the many parts make up one whole body. So it is with the body of Christ. Some of us are Jews, some are Gentiles, some are slaves, and some are free. But we have all been baptized into one body by one Spirit, and we all share the same Spirit.” (1 Corinthians 12:12-13)

The early church welcomed non-gender-conforming people. One of the first recorded baptisms by the apostles was of an Ethiopian eunuch. (Acts 8:27)

Jesus warned against using anti-gay slurs. The NIV translation of Matt 5:22 reads “anyone who says to a brother or sister, ‘Raca,’ is answerable to the court”. The original Greek text does not include “sister”, and the word “raca” is most likely a transliteration of the Aramaic word “rakkah”, which is the feminine form of the adjective that means “to be tender, weak, or soft”, so this would be comparable to calling a man a “sissy” (or worse). You think fighting for your lives is the same as endangering lives?! Protesting against racist police brutality and murders and human rights activism is NOT the same as endangering your neighbours recklessly in the name of God, using the name of God to excuse endangering people's lives in a irresponsible manner!
BLM protests were about saving lives. The concerts killed people. The protests were necessary. The concerts were not. We had zoom. Many churches did services and Bible study groups on zoom. Protests can't happen on zoom. The protests happened due to very extreme circumstances and under duress. If it hadn't been so important covid restrictions would have followed. Also protestors were masked (not so at the concert)
It is a totally false comparison and I find the comparison highly suspicious. Just reeks of racism to me!

Why do we celebrate trauma when it’s wrapped up in the world’s pretty package? Answer: We are all sinful. To say that everyone is living “their best life” because they look the way they do on the outside, is a mislead on our part. We can’t paint everyone with one broad stroke. There is such a thing as separation of self when it comes to trauma. Trauma in general can lead to sin. ie alcoholism, sex, drugs, abuse etc. All people, all sinful people including us Christians, are the same in sin. What we strive for which should be in Christ and His Holy righteousness only, determines our fruit.
To say during a time of struggle in seeking God and a constant removal of sin isnt hard, we are lying to ourselves. A lot of times lesson/tests from God we are in His process. He is honing us out of it or we are working against Him. As His creation we are all works in progress. When we are so deep in that very sin because we sown it so deeply, causes us to either run outward to Him or inward to ourselves in those hard times. It creating morales. Unsavory or His goodness. We can deceive ourselves and those around us. It is part of our sinful nature.
Christ calls us to deny ourselves and take up our crosses. We are not to store up our treasures here on earth but store them up in heaven, in Christ. If you look like the world and are accepted, the world is in your heart. Not Him.
    John 15:19
19 If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.
Hate is a strong word in today’s world. We forget that it also means to denounce something. Look up the synonym definition: “Anathema.”We should hate what God hates, which is sin. Hating sin so much you remove it from your life and replace it with only Him. Again, God Hates sin. He loves His creation. If He hated you as a person, you wouldn’t be here. You would be all kinds of evil. But then again, freewill and sin can run rampant in our fallen world because of Him giving us choice and satan’s dominion. Reference the book of Job in scripture.
When you live in sin you become what you seek. Look at what happened to the Son of Judah. Er.
    1 Chronicles 2:3
The sons of Judah were Er, Onan, and Shelah. These three were born to him by the daughter of Shua, the Canaanitess. Er, the firstborn of Judah, was wicked in the sight of the LORD; so He killed him.
God is so patient and not on the human level either. Greater. His ways aren’t ways, our thoughts aren’t His thoughts. We are finite. He is The Potter we are the clay. So to be evil in human eyes versus to be evil in God’s, pretty unthinkable and speakable kind of evil this Er was.
When we live in sin we become evil. It’s a domino effect. You consent to it. You replace Him with yourself. You are your own god according to you. No accountability. A stubbornness grows. No other gods before Him. That is the 2nd commandment. He is a jealous God: as any creator of anything should be. He is The Creator of everything. His rightful place should be 1st Always.
    Deuteronomy 4:23-24
So watch yourselves, that you do not forget the covenant of the Lord your God which He made with you, and make for yourselves a graven image in the form of anything against which the Lord your God has commanded you. For the Lord your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God.
What seed you choose to grow is the fruit you will bare. With sin as your seed, God, after awhile, gives you over to your heart and desire because that’s what Him giving us choice and freewill looks like. If you love something you let it go. A Righteous, Just, and loving God does not want that for you let alone to be in it. He as The Father, loves you that much.
Sin in Isaiah is described as filthy rags.
    Isaiah 64:6
But we are all like an unclean thing, And all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags; We all fade as a leaf, And our iniquities, like the wind, Have taken us away.
We are only made clean in Christ Jesus because we are a fallen lot. He died for those sins, so when we put our trust in Him and not in ourselves we are made whole in Him. He is the 2nd Adam. Those who seek themselves are in the 1st Adam and the wages of sin is death. So after you die, you stay dead (hell) versus living in for all eternity with our creator (heaven)
Sin leads to death and destruction in us and to those around us. More importantly it angers The Lord and is against Him and His Ways. We are rebelling.
To be a Christian is not to speak of “me” and what the world deems as “comfort”, it’s the opposite. For not aligning with the world, we as Christians are wrong or evil. We are not to tickle ears and appease. To hate someone is to allow them to die forever. It’s like you are flying out of a plane 1,000’s of feet in the air and your parachute won’t open and that parachute you always had but we are called to help you open it. That parachute is Christ. That’s how much we need to Love to show Christ’s love.
When we are in ourselves, how is pointing to “me” bringing value and glory to The Kingdom? To deny yourself (not practicing being in self) and focusing on God is obedient, showing faithfulness, and love to Him.
If the world accepts you, you are of the world. To say sin can’t corrupt a church goes against scripture. In Revelation, there will be apostate churches. Because we are all sinners and are easily corrupted without Christ or walking trusting in Him (denying our sin), satan and our sin can take hold. No matter where you are in your journey it can happen if you aren’t in scripture and allowing Him to guide your steps.
People in Christ will bare His fruit. They will walk in His ways and humble themselves before Him just as our humbled loving selfless Christ willingly gave himself up on that cross for those very sins, so when we die we arent separated from the Creator. Jesus is the redeeming bridge to Him. If you love God wholeheartedly and are a Christian, that is your only identity. satan convinces you otherwise.
    Ephesians 6:11
Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.
    1 Peter 5:8-11 (NKJV):
8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. 9 Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world. 10 But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you. 11 To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen
God Bless all! May you all seek Him if you haven’t already and be whole in Him. 🕊️
