@@LivingTheVanLife -- Nice filming job. But this is hardly a survival video. You're in a public campground on Mt Baker. I kinda laughed at that part. If it's the campground I'm thinking of, cell phone service is available. But if you really want to do survival videos, go to the Yukon or Alaska in winter. Because what you are doing here is silliness. And you're only out to make some bucks off of RUclips. So listen up, everyone. This is not a "survival video".

Pat C you program the drone to follow at a certain height and speed. Watch Primal outdoors he does the same thing oh and Coyote works as well.
I'm revisiting this again during some trying times and cant thank you enough Chad for all your inspirational words and demonstrating raw perseverance and self discovery in your videos...everything you say makes sense and I've learned for many years that pushing yourself makes you stronger! Cheers, brother 🍻
I tell you what buddy. I watch this video every time I got a problem. You just show me how to fix every mess around . Thanks a lot!
Right on! Glad I could help- tt
The editing is sick on this man props to you!
That is a very very huge thank you to my fellow filmmaker and very good friend, Andrew Lahmann for sitting with me and helping me make edit decisions to help bring you guys the tightest content in this video!
please keep making these videos. They're actually so entertaining. Bring me with you on one of these trips haha. Btw the food looks amazing.
Thanks Jp!
"Getting out here getting lost, that's when you find yourself" - chad
I know i can't do the things that you do. Thank you for sharing it with us. A little relief from the day to day routine in the now what i call life. Thanks chad.
3:24 is such a beautiful shot. The snow with the trees covered and just enough sun light coming thru is plain stunning.
*chops wood for hours to clear road*
gets to camp
“Where am I gonna find any wood for the fire?”
lol
Yes, I understand that the wood across the road was probably still green but I couldn’t help but laugh at this.
Seriously though, nothing but Love for LTVL, keep it up!
Yeah i didn't get it as well
He spent hours cutting those trees out of the way but still wondering where to find some woods to heat up lmao
Some cable or chain with hooks are pretty handy when it comes to dragging trees.
@@younes-47 The tree has to have been dead for some while for the wood to burn, so the stuff that fell won't burn
@@Sunnbuzz Not necessarily. It's often deadfall.
@@sunnyvalejedi Yes ok that's true :) I was really only referring to the bigger ones we saw him cutting because he was having a hard time they looked "fresh" but maybe I'm wrong
I just love the fact that you are equipped for almost every situation like, the moment you decided to get the big trees out of the road and you threw on your big boots and took your axe idk why but that looked so cool like.... ah i can’t explain it but anyways keep doing what you are doing you are growing really fast!!!
I would’ve cried when I got to the second tree falling 😭😭😭
22:00- Banjo & acoustic. Beautiful sound. 🪕
This is the most BOSS video I’ve seen in a long time! Clearing pretty much a down forest to press forward and relating the whole experience to life 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Probably the best video by far. Never thought i would end up watching all the way to the end.
Thanks for watching! Cheers!
Exactly the same as you, Wonjae Lee. When I saw it was 50 minutes, I knew I'd be doing some fast forwards. Nope not a bit. Excellent video!
Island Guy Cheers! Thanks for watching!
@@LivingTheVanLife You're welcome. I edited my reply to ad more content.
Thanks brother for clearin the road! Family and I are headed up Saturday. We camp up there all the time. Great video, as always! Tim.. from Ferndale.
Just one question; would you have cleared those trees?
@@Cyndy101 100 percent!
LOL!
This video summarized everything I want for myself and my future. Not only physically in terms of exploration and travel, but the insight and emotional intelligence you offer. Thank you for inspiring me
All of your videos are amazing. "When you are lost out here, that's where you find yourself" wow!
you are a cool guy and your video is super. hello everyone from cold Siberia
Camping Siberia 😉👌

All that work! Take my "thumbs-up", sir. You've earned it!
Thank you!!! You’re so awesome 👏 ❤️👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I started watching this video thinking I was seeing some homeless hipster. By the end I have realized that Chad is a Bad. Ass. Dude!!
When you cleared the road, I kept thinking it was good wood for a fire .
Me too. I wanted just gather it up and stow it away in the van somewhere.
He's surrounded by trees.
@@Hondadctrider Yes bu8t the deadfall is under the snow somewhere...
That’s my thought! 🧐🙄😂
I was too but then I I thought about him saying he can’t fit a chainsaw inside so I kinda understood his actions in that way
Wow man, i watched this from start to finish and it felt like 15mins! Looked at it and it was 50 mins! couldn't take my eyes off the screen! Love the clever simplicity of the way you go about stuff, really inspired me. Keep these up dude, top man!
I always like your stuff, especially the ones with snow! It's like I feel the warmth being inside the van while it's freezing outside. I like it, even more, now that you mixed it with bushcraft.
im english and we never see winter like this, maybe well north in the highlands of scotland, but england no.
i'm 70 years old and you certainly get my outdoor juices flowing with your experiences. superb adventure
I'm from north east England and I totally agree with you...I have a campervan but I'd give anything to plonk myself right next to chad for one mad weekend in our campers
We used to get winters like this ...but climate has altered ours.
At a loss for words to describe how great this is! Thanks for being one of the best outdoor lifestyle channels I've come across!
I appreciate that very much. THANK YOU!
Watched every minute and loved it. One of the very best channels on RUclips
Thanks for watching!
What a pretty sight. That van is a beast.
Nature: puts *ONE* tree to block chad
Chad: nope just gonna *cut* it with my 60 dollar saw
Nature: how about this? (Puts a *Dozen* of trees to block chad)
Chad: nice try nature i have an *axe* with me. :D
Top
Those tress looked pretty fresh. He probably could have used one for fire wood. It would work decently. I think.
Burnt Chicken Nugget no not really. The trees were green and wouldn’t burn very well. I adventure in the same area and have encountered the same thing many times, they are almost always green.
Felt like in the movie "interstellar" Dr.Mann's planet
Ha Ha ha! yes!
Been watching your video for almost a year now. Really enjoy watching all your videos.
Love and respect from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Very cool Luke! Thanks for watching! See you on the road sometime!
What a great video, so enjoyable to watch. You capture the emotion of the challenges you faced really well and the relief of reaching your goals and a well earned meal
Nearly one hour LTVL you made my Friday evening - thanks for all the effort and have a great weekend. Best regards from Germany (no snow so far this year)
Thanks Beavis!

Lust is a killer.....relax
When you came across those trees down I said to my self I hope you didn't have to turn back, and by the grace of God you made it through to go on to your travel ,its been amazing watching your videos.till next time 🙋♀️👍❤
These are just so calming to watch that I keep coming back and revisiting when I’m trying to relax😜😂
After just one half of the video I had to send you small donation by paypal, because its simply brilliant :-) Wish you all the best from Czech republic.
My friend ! Thank you so SO VERY much for your generosity !!!! I cannot tell you how much I appreciate your kindness!
16:45 I loved the authentic release of laughter when you finally broke your way through that last log. Thanks for sharing!
Wow
That drone footage is surreal ! ! !
I am almost speechless.
You know what I love is that he talks to you like your there with him makes you feel like you have a friend and your chilling with him on his journey 💪💪💯💯💚
Thanks for watching! Cheers!
Yes, I’m back because I couldn’t resist. This is one of my all time favorite videos.....period. You help me believe that I might be able to actually get out in the great outdoors and have an adventure. And if for some reason I can’t I can experience it with you. You are my favorite van life videographer. You should have a show on the National Geographic Channel.💖
That means a whole lot to hear this! Thank you very VERY much. I really appreciate this.
Living The Van Life 💖
Yes! A 51 minute video on a Friday nite is just what I needed!!!!
Yes! Cheers! Thanks for watching!
Now here’s a man with a destiny and intent to get to where he’s going! No tree across the road is gonna stop him 🤗.
Got lot of fire wood
WOW. many life lessons learned here.
1. never give up and never give in.
2. roll, roll, roll your boat gently down the stream, merry, merry, merry LIFE IS BUT A DREAM.
chad, great vid. i lost my wife to cancer in march 2020 and the pandemic going on. you never know what life will serve you. i will keep moving forwards not backward and follow my dreams. you inspire me. THANK YOU!!!!!!!
This is unreal ! The amount of work that you must have put into setting up the camera for each shot. And how did you get the aerial footage - a drone I guess? There's a real life lesson here - you had the gear, the knowledge, the confidence, and the determination to reach your goal. Gripping to watch - a real gem of a video. Well done !
Love your commentary around the 17:20 mark after clearing the road. Perfect explanation of why we practice and train for anything in life, best case scenario you end up at an amazing camp site. Worst case scenario as you said, you are confident in your skills and equipment ready to tackle the same problem if your life depended on it. Love the content!
This video., is by far, one of your best. You did such a good job with this one, keep it up man! Thank you for sharing with us!
My dad just passed away last dec 2019 the way you do things wid passion same wid him thats the reason we keep on watching your videos we can see through you take care chad and may God protect you always my mom is enjoying your videos
So many life lessons in this one video! Dude you are so inspiring! You are a great example of a real masculine man! Fearless, hardworking, inteligent. I aspire to be like you! Thanks for posting these videos. I will soon be doing winter vanlife and I been learning a lot from watching your videos. Thank you!
Reminds me of the time I was in my Saturn Vue and went out in the wilderness, ran into 3 downed pines and 5 boulders and moved all with a good knowledge of physics. Like you I was thinking of the pioneers. At the end I felt so accomplished and self sufficient. I was 63 at the time (7 years ago) and still going out to places others say I should not venture being a solo female. I will definitely be getting that saw.
Where your chain saw
Hey Chad! I decided to share some of your videos with my 6 year old daughter and she thinks everything about your videos is great. She asked me to let you know that we also baton our wood before starting a fire. Keeping my word! Keep on trucking.
I enjoy watching your videos!
Great job!!!! You worked hard clearing that wood! You are inspiring me. Thank you.

Thanks for watching!
You have my respect for not giving up in face of such a huge obstacles. My man here is a warrior.
My favorite channel, such a relatable and nice guy! The cinematics are incredible and so professional!
I just come to your channel lately. I am from Albania, trying to build my winter camping car. I have a looong experience in camping life ect. BUT you're so good man. I am not speaking about the ability to survive into the wilderness, but about the maturity you have, the lessons you gave, the visions you have, you point of view about everything !!! God bless you man! Also very professional footage!!! I really could feel what you felt....KEEP GOING !
The lessons you taught us here, priceless. You and your skills, breathtaking as always.
That place is fantastic ..thanks for showing us your mountain trips you knew what the tree would do..cool. UK.
