At the Pup Play Mosh and Q&A, Xerxes Qados gave a brief introduction to puppy play, while the more forward puppies got right to playing. I was a bit shy and joined them later on. I had a very fun time, and it was my favorite panel of Anthrocon 2019.

Just don’t comment on this stuff and you won’t have to see it online. But I do recommend looking into being more open minded about stuff and not shitting on people for having fun just because it’s “not normal”.
I've been super interested in non sexual pet play, it makes me feel cute and comfortable but I don't know of any groups, events, handlers or anything near me 😞

Look for your local PAW group! You just gotta google it and most groups have locations listed.
Look up pupspace it is in an app called grokio, it connect you with pups and handlers near you

@@blod9862 I don't think I've been in the community long enough to have noticed if anyone gets upset by it as I personally haven't seen it be mixed up with something else since I've been out as a pup :). If it does happen, I'm sure people won't be mad. They'll probably just try to educate instead haha

@@sharkboygaming6505 Sorry for the late response. Pet play is a form of kink whether it's sexual or not. So for the pet play community, it's 18+ for safety. However as a kid, you can absolutely play as a dog or any animal. I used to always play dogs/cats/horses/lions/tigers when I was a kid!

A large number of pups only partake in the non sexual side, the puppy headspace, where they behave like actual puppies

I've become a pet regressor and it is so comforting being treated like a puppy because I have always loved dogs and wanted to be treated like one😭 I haven't had the greatest of childhoods and so as a teenager pet regression is a huge coping mechanism

From my experience in the pup community pupplay is not sexual for the vast majority of pups. For the vast majority of pups that I have talked with its more the innocence of being a playful puppy and not being a fully mature adult dog.

Check your local PAH (Pups And Handlers) group if you have them, they sometimes set up free events in bars, or private residences.

Oddly enough, I'd say that's the #1 question I get on this question. My feelings on it are still pretty mixed. Let's see where they fall in 2024:
A lot of little kids naturally do puppy play. My niece absolutely loved playing like a dog, particularly when she was around 6 years old.
It seems "puppy play" as it's defined here has an element of age regression. He's talking about moshing, getting on all fours and playing like a dog. He seems to be talking exclusively about adults doing it.
Adults doing pup play probably naturally has some element of sexual energy to it, even at its most innocent. After all, what does it really mean when one adult pets another or rubs his belly?
As such, I think that children doing puppy play is cute and innocent. Adults doing puppy play is also cute, and they can choose how little or how much it's intended to be sexual.
As for 13-17 year olds, it seems they need to be excluded from puppy play entirely as a matter of necessity. They're no longer necessarily innocent children, but not yet fully adults with the authority to choose what to do with their bodies.
It's such a confusing topic. What about you? What do you think about all this?

That's a very good question. It seems there is a lot of overlap, and some pups even have fursuits, but I was surprised when I joined my local pup group that some of them identified only as pups and not as furries.

I'm incredibly scared to be a "Pup" because I already feel so bad doing age regression because of how badly I'm made fun of at home for it...
I totally get that. Pup play, age regression, and furry are all a bit similar in that they're all a bit juvenile and silly, but I think that's kind of the point and a bit of the draw. If you do any of them with a trusted in-group, then it's fun and you get to have the pleasure of being with people who won't make fun of you for doing what you love. :-)
@@kvn8907 I'd totally love to get into a group with other pups! I tried it out, as a husky (They're my favorite) and it felt super nice! Even my boyfriend thought it was cute and is totally up for whatever makes me happy 😊

You can also be owned and still enjoy a mosh. These puppy moshes are just pups playing with other pups. A lot of them likely have handlers/owners. But it's not for everyone 💁♀️
Also there's a tonne of leather puppy gear. Websites like Mr S Leather have great gear or Etsy 😊

No hard age limit, but generally speaking, most people into it are between 18 and 40.

Usually it's pretty easy when you grow up with dogs, you kinda learn to mimic them for fun.
i’ve recently found puppy play (after finding regression) and i love how it makes me feel, it lets me have a space to be playful and not be afraid of how others see me. the one thing that kinda turns me off from it is the leather headgear, but i just made some ears for myself and i love them

Oh boy.....pup play actually got started in the gay leather culture. It was originally used as punishment...but some of the subs learned it was fun....and that's when pup play started.

Honestly, im pretty interested in pet play, but the thing that turns me off from being a puppy is the masks
They look cool, but for a dog I'd imagine something more cutesy, and maybe lets you use your mouth

You don't need a hood to be a pup! No gear is necessary and you can use whatever you like to feel more like your pup self :)
I'm not a huge fan of the most common hoods which are the Mr S Leather ones. I think they're nice and comfy and great if you want to go swimming as a pup or something. But they don't look like what I'd want my pup self to look like. I'm currently saving for another hood that's more me
But generally, if you want to get into pup play, nothing is needed to start! Although I'd advise some knee pads and gloves for protection and comfort 👌
there's plenty of alternate "kawaii" stuff, too - it's mostly just soft handmade tails and ears in either pastel colors or neutral/realistic colors. i'd recommend etsy for viewing or buying stuff like that
