I’m getting ready to do the alternator replacement right now. Does the entire engine need to be moved back or was that just to gain extra room and that step could be skipped?
Yup I already know replaced water pump, radiator, hoses cost me a fortune and now they want $$$$$ to do the thermostat when they should’ve done it at same time as radiator but they didn’t which is so upsetting because the engine light came on the day after I just paid them to do the radiator so now I’m going try and do it myself
Music is a distraction. If You want to add music and special effects go to Hollywood. The work you're doing is so much more important. Wish you could have named the parts you were working with.
Look im a beginner mechanic but o learn fast but I didn't get the size of the tools you need and a good look at how you connect the wires and how did you attach the air intake hose over all that
the major problem I have with this video is that to change the alternator on the LR2, you do NOT start with the engine that way. There is the manifold in the way in the completely assembled engine. How can someone do this "changing alternator" when there's a manifold and other parts in the way. You started AFTER removing the manifold, which is what is needed before you get to the alternator. You start on Chapter 4 skipping Chapters 1 - 3. Why? There's no reason. The complete procedure from the fully assembled engine should be shown. Otherwise, video is only half of the story. Does not help. Have to look for another video showing the steps from Chapter 1 onward. Why skip? Don't get it.
This guy doesn't answer nobody is the same he did and them remove the thermostat on the left housing 4 bolts very easy is a good moment for get water hoses aswell cause they suffering a lot heat and swollen a lot

He died after doing this job after he did all of that it didn’t start and he had a heart attack
