I found Sean ending the best and I think his quest is the longest and hardest I read somewhere.I always love this game even though it’s considered the black sheep of the series
Juan Elorriaga totally agree as its been a long time since i played thr game i was obsessed with it when i was 10-13. It was the only PS game i had growing up an i loved it. Seans story was the first one i played through an it was my favorite of them all
@@straydogthagawd I guess but it felt like a force connection even some Phantasy star III monsters appeared in the fourth installment but Phantasy star III felt like a different game, maybe too different to consider it a sequel.
@@aspinia Did you complete PS3? Even if you got halfway through, it's clear how it is in the same universe as PS2. In fact, PS2 connects all the games in the original series.
@@straydogthagawd In Phantasy Star one Dark Falz is behind a door in a dungeon. Weird considering his size and the vastness of space surrounding him. That door looks like the size of a closet door lol!!! I guess we are too assume he is a spirit and not physical, although he can be harmed with weapons.
I could of sworn, one time it took me 4 generations to beat the game in two scenarios. I remember there was one ending where nobody died. I believe the combination was Layan, Layan, Orakian, and Layan where everybody lived.
There were 4 endings. Adan, Aron, Crys and Sean. One had a message from "The London Communication Center on Earth of the Sol Sytem". And one that "suggested" Earth. "The third one out from the star." I don't remember the other two.
@Justin D. Cotton: No. They were moving away from the Algol star system. "We are heading for that brightest star ahead of us. We are heading for one of its planets, the third one out from the star. It seems perfect for us. We are finally arriving at the end of our journey."
What if in the "Earth Ending", the Neo Palm III's Inhabitants are the Earthlings at the end of Phantasy Star 2? They went back in time and ended up on Earth and after it's destruction, the Neo Palm III people try to go to Algo (or Algol) to head home, but were unfortunately corrupted by Dark Force.
I think it makes perfect sense. The Dark Force that you fight in PS3 could potentially be the one that corrupts the Earthlings and is present on their space ark. That means that there would be a full fledged time loop going on.
Honestly, I keep thinking this is the canon ending. I mean, this game apparently takes place AFTER 4, and Dark Force coming back would be impossible since it's source, Profound Darkness, is destroyed. But if sent back in time to when Profound Darkness still existed, it might be possible to bring it back.
People argue over which ending is the true one, but here is the truth: there is no canon ending. The developers were in a rush and made it all up as they went along, without any regards for continuity. They just inserted whichever ideas they thought were cool at the time. They don't even remember now what motivated them. As usual, fans read way too much into the tiniest details of games and see correlations that were not meant to begin with.
As much as I hate to say that, it feels too true... Playing through PS3 brings nothing to the continuity of the original series and it can just be entirely skipped. Might be better that way. Meeting with the same people that tried to destroy them one episode ago isn't a great prospect...
choosing Laya as your wife in both of the third generations makes things easier both twins have healing techniques making everything easier. It is weird there are 2 sets of Kara one daughter of Nial and the other daughter of Lune.
Both are the same Kara. One is raised after Lune is convinced that the war is over. He stands down and becomes peaceful, thus Kara is raised more like a princess. In the other, he keeps the war going for a little bit longer, and realizes he messed up, and THEN calms down. But that version of Kara is more warrior-like. Which I always thought was a really cool approach in and of itself! Gah! This game needs a remake that fleshes out its story and fixes its mechanical issues! 😫
@@jjbb84xagreed. Loved this game way back and while I think it's a bad jrpg the core story and focus on generations would be awesome nowadays IF given proper care and attention.

Compared to the 2nd and 4th, this one is real let down. The story is nonsensical and destroying the whole series. profound darkness had already been been destroyed according to PS4 and earth had already been destroyed according to PS2.

Anyone who didn't like this, or thinks it's not related to the series, hssn't finished the game. The references to it in PS4 are a great tribute.

Longest-sean
Hardest-crys (only one healer!)
Quickest-aron
Easiest-adan (multiple healers)
I'm afraid you're missing an ending. There's the one in which they found another spaceship heading their way.
TimelordR Yep, it's the ending for Sean that's missing.
I resonantly finished the game and the ending your describing is the one I got, still can't believe dark force is in a damn chest

LOL, I was thinking the same thing XD

Aron's ending is the best ending as it sets the plot for Phantasy Star II.
Thr third one from the star could have been Desolis too, as long as they somehow knew that the asteroid was once a planet.
