It seems to be that most of the Countries that are joining are from the Middle East and Asia. I think Mongolia is the only one not wanting to join. Also not sure how Japan and possibly the Philippines trying to join would look to America.

Not joining as a BRICS member does not mean you cannot do business or trade with BRICS members, and conversely, not joining the western bloc does not mean you cannot do business or trade with western countries.
but at least by not joining one of the blocs (Western or Eastern) means are not contributing to the sharpening of the trade war between the two blocs.
It would be different if BRICS made a requirement that all BRICS members are only allowed to do business or trade with fellow BRICS members. then this requirement will force a country to make a yes or no choice...

@@totzinfo Yes, if you are a country that only imports goods from BRICS member countries, but if you are a country that exports or produces natural resources needed by BRICS member countries then the problem of exchange rates can be overcome by accepting payments in its currency BRICS...
