My Dad was one of the early gardeners that was brought in to start to clear out and renovate the Lost Gardens of Heligan in the 1990's. He worked there for many years until he retired. The vegetable garden became his baby, along with the pineapple pits when they were first reintroduced. Sadly no longer with us, his ashes are now laid to rest in one of the flower beds and there is a memorial to him, an engraved spade, in one of the gardens too. I did have to laugh at your pronunciation of Mevagissy though 😂😂😂
A little bit of research goes a hell of a long way - the village (yes village, not town) of La Mussara in Catalonia was abandoned after insects devastated the vineyards in the region thus causing the inhabitants to lose their jobs. Basically, the crops died, there were no more jobs and so they packed up and went to the cities to find work.
That Polish castle was actually built on a swamp. It kept sinking, so they kept building more castles on top of it. They were following a British design
They didn’t bury any houses in Sacramento, this only happened in what is now old Sacramento, they literally removed the roofs on the buildings and built new levels , they yen went to the street, leaving what was the board sidewalks, built retaining walls and filled in the streets. Raising the entire town ( it wasn’t a city then) a full story . It wasn’t long after that they built the levees and they did raise sections again but not all of it, and the dam bust is also very misleading as there were no dams then and Northern California gets some large storms that dump a lot of water at once causing wide spread flooding to this day.

About the Ogrodzieniec castle in Poland. It is not visited by locals because you have to pay for the entrance. During the summer season, you have to book your tickets at least a week earlier, plus you can go on a night tour. If any of you people are going to visit Poland, I can recommend this place.

I enjoyed this..could you do one on the abandoned Nazi Autobahns of Poland? There was once a video on this, but I can't find it. The Germans built hundreds of miles of highways in (occupied) Poland-from 1941-1943. They run through forests and uninhabited areas- . I understand that they were built to advance the colonization of Poland by Germans..once Hitler won the war.
I'm from New Orleans, and aside from his terrible pronunciations, Charity hospital was demolished, and replaced by Tulane medical which is close to where Charity was. For years after Katrina there were squatters who would break in, and sleep in there for shelter so maybe that light was simply a squatter who plugged in a lamp, and considering the poor resolution of the photo that is much more likely than a ghost. Having said that many of the old buildings in the French Quarter are said to be haunted, and having worked on Bourbon in some of those buildings as well as talking to other people who worked in the old hotels many have seen and heard things in rooms with no occupants, and they do not doubt the possibility that spirits of the dead remain in them.

They were indeed tasked with disabling key infrastructure had there been an invasion. There is a Trust that has mapped much of the auxillary locations and installations. When I started here, this was all swamp. Everyone said I was daft to build a castle on a swamp, but I built it all the same, just to show ‘em!
It burned down, fell over, and sank into the swamp.

I too saw that segment and laughed. Partly due the fact that it is well known to us..

"The Authorities". Gotta love 'em.
The hospital still has electrical power to prevent copper thieves
You think they couldn't disconnect then disassemble?
And some company bought the hospital and they probably dont want more damage to a place that has had enough damage

For the German arctic bunker, if there wasn't a reasonable knowledge of polar bears, there could have been vitamin A poisoning if they ate the liver.
Vitamin D isn't it that polar bears store in their livers at levels toxic to humans?
