This is so helpful. I knew what I needed to do but I'm worried about messing something up so having a tutorial was helpful

If you just want to switch the battery, there is no need to remove the wireless card and light/USB plugs or the hidden USB port bracket next to the HDD on the flip side (I learned because I did not have the strength to unscrew it :P Don't laugh). The cables that remain connected to the box are long enough to still easily lift the board and access the battery.
Anyway, thank you for the great video.

Glad you were able to figure it out and use your brain to see what needs to be done. A lot of people aren't able to think for themselves and need exact steps for everything, and if something doesn't work, they give up. Lol

Date and time keeps resetting? Maybe the battery connector isn't soldered right, not sure.

What’s the difference between the alpha and alpha steam machine? The thumbs down was by accident too.

Not sure. I just take computers apart and put them back together. You'll want to ask a dell/alienware rep or Google it

The "Steam Machine" was the initial release with the Steam OS software preinstalled. The standard Alpha came with Win 8 standard, iirc
