For light-duty hinges, ready -cut, I reckon the metal leaves from a dismantled transformer core could be used (the thin stacked pieces each shaped like E or similar)
@@tannerlane9669 Hmm well it depends. While my printing is working I can do something else in the meantime. Also ich can print multiple iteration with quick changes, in the end when I am happy with the result I can still cut it out. It´s way more messy.
@@sierraecho884 printing parts is cute for small projects & demonstrations but I’m talking a bit more heavy duty , that little electroplated pla plastic would last maybe 1 day😂
@@tannerlane9669 That´s why i´s called rapid prototyping, you create 1-5 prototypes until you get the geometry and all the parameters right, cheap and quick and if you like the result you can still carve it into steel. Also depending on the amount of parts needed you can use and break your prototypes and simply print new ones. If you only need 3 parts or so this is not an issue at all. Sometimes I only needed 2 parts I printed out some tools used them and threw them away, I still have the 3D file but I don´t the stuff lying around here where it takes place, if I need a new one I just print one out. As I said, it depends on multiple parameters and personal preference. Many times it is more economical to simply print out some parts.
@@sierraecho884 Sir I literally just sumed everything up, that’s why I would use steel instead of 3D print, no need for a test run, plastic vs steel no comparison

Cool, but... Metal hinges are cheap enough to buy at the local hardware store that it's not worth my time and effort, materials and tooling to fabricate them myself.
I love the simplicity of this die and process: Angle grinder, drill press, hammer, and bench vice. Welder is not strictly needed.
Brilliant!
Congratulation from Brazil!!👏👏👏
Nice and easy idea bro 👍
Very nice, thanks for sharing.
Excellent job good looking hinges.
10like untuk temanku ini...video keren😎
That song rocks!!!!
Perfectly made door hinge👍👍👍
A very simple and wonderful idea for you
Hi thx for a very informative vid. ❤❤

Waw..bikin engsel sangt bagus 👍🤝 indonesia 🇮🇩
How did you make the round surface to start the bend? Angle grinder? Very impressive.
Facil y eficiente ,excelente
best so far
brilliant, just brilliant.
VERY GOOD WORK
I would have 3D printed the dies. You can reinforce them with sheet metal pieces if needed. Way easier than carving a solid steel block
Takes to long

👍👍👍luar biasa. Mantab. ( Indonesia)
Very good just needs some hardening to be preventing it from bending and broken.
Measure with micrometer, cut with angle grinder.
Nota 10 belissima ideia obrigado pela aula
very. usefull
Glad you think so!
Goodworuksir
Well I thought that was clever, good job..........
The sander almost worked. 🤣🤣🤣
What is the angle grinder attachment at 5:20?
It is just a angle grinder sandpaper attachment (LOL) It screwed over the cutting disc

do you sale them

I agree same thoughts here wasting time when you can buy them cheap made in China😁😁😁
Maybe you need something right now. Maybe what you need isn't available or is really expensive. Maybe you just like making things from scratch.
