Unlike the other comments on this video Jim did a great job and has made dreams into reality. I understand the cost of conservation and this to me is just heaven on earth.
I love taxidermy in many aspects, but I'll never support hunting an animal for doing it. I would personally feel very blamed to try to "bring to life" an animal that I killed...That's a big hypocrisy. Killing nature to try to imitate it after. I'm only in favor of taxidermizing dead zoo animals and animals that are found dead in the wild (in the cases that it's still possible to preserve). This is when "bringing an animal to life again" will actually make sense.
Seeing how he paid money to fight against poachers, feed local communities in Africa and regulate species so they don't over populate, over consume resources that many other species would eat along side of the fact overpopulation creates diseases. I think mounting your kill preserves the animal in a way that can be admired for generations rather than the whole animal go to waste. He has mosted likely invested at least several hundred grand into wildlife conservation. That's more than probably 99% of people will do in a lifetime. So yeah the guy earned it his gallery and should be proud of his success not only for himself but the lands he hunted in.
Hunting isn’t just for taxidermy, it’s for food. Many people live off the animals they harvest, the trophy aspect is just an added bonus. It’s not like he goes out and shoots animals just to save the hide and the horns. Also, I’m sure all the animals he’s harvested have some good memories behind them.
