Just subscribed yesterday from the other mini braids video and it’s funny I’m doing an ocean wave mini/small braids. I would love to see how your prepped the hair to get them all to fall at that perfect tapered length.
Thanks, glad you are here. The hair I used is 22 inches. I it in half and folded it over, doing this allows the hair to fall naturally in the different layers. You can also pull on the ends to create an uneven length on the folded pieces (if that make sense. I show the technique often in my crochet tutorials.
I show a more in depth breakdown in my previous video when I installed small braids with deep twist. In this install I, went simple and just wrapped the braid hair around my hair and braided it down, then tied a small slip knot to keep it from unraveling. Sis try a thin slice of a potato for puffy eyes I tried it and it worked. We have that problem but nature has the remedy.

My hair is bra strap length so i worry this wont come out well because i have to braid it so far down
The only option I could think of for you is the crochet method that way you can control the length.

Yes, I then stretch the ends to make them uneven as well to help get the layers.
