well the trailer focus was on baroque works and the season ends in drum island before alabasta, so the only place baroque works appear is before drum island therefore no chopper.
They must still be working on the CGI; the exterior view of the castle looks awful, it looks like some cheap 3D advertisement.

I think the only real criticism from my side is Garp and Luffy listening to Nami's backstory.
Not having Garp would've saved a lot of time for developing Usopp and Sanji. And I just loved the fact that Luffy doesn't need details about his friends, he will just save them regardless.
One piece has weird and goofy character designs so seeing how goofy it is in live action doesn't seem so alien
Holy shit they actually added the Unluckies?? This right here is why the one piece adaptation works so well. They don't shy away from the silly parts. Also, that whispered Doce Fleur was incredible.
I was just going to say, This actually Vibes super well with me as an Anime adaptation.
I was stoked to see them too! They could so easily have been cut, but they're a great reminder of how wacky this world can be.

I hadnt even considered they would add them... they are such a small part... but at the same time one of the most badass Sanji moments.
It's because not only is Oda overseeing this entire show, but he handpicked the writer, and the guy is a massive fan of One Piece, he's even appeared on podcasts with the One Piece RUclips community.

As someone who never watched the anime, and loved the first season, I'm really hyped for this
And that exactly is why this show was made in the first place. To reel in new audience, who never saw it but still wanted to dip their toes in. Glad to have you on board!
I really hope they put in an emphasized Luffy's climb on drum island, that's one of the few things I want to be perfect. Other than that great teaser

@muhammetalieren1328 one could only hope, but in all honesty since theyre filming 3 now there will probably be a gap between 3 and 4..Since Stranger Things was their bread and butter and it stopped airing and this was number one in so many countries that they will shift there focus to this budget wise and allot significantly more money to it.

It's just so refreshing seeing a Netflix show with actual style. The camera angles and visual design are just so inspired.
I never even watched the anime, but this felt like a great blend between live action & animation.

@spunkymaniac9312like a lot of them suffer from "actor eyes" where the upper part of the facial expression doesn't match up with the tone (the most noticeable for me in season 1 was usopp where it's supposed to be a dramatic scene of high tension, fear and hopelessness to tge cat guy and his eyes look like he just saw boobs)

True, but I think the main issue with any kind of mafia is mainly actually finding them. The straw hats were lucky to find Vivi who knew how they were organized, and Vivi was lucky that these pirates actually listened to her, not like the marines, who would not have been allowed to touch crocodile

The numbers weren’t as high as Wednesday or Stranger things since a lot of Netflix’s viewership is concentrated in the US, but it’s a pretty big accomplishment

This is definitely Netflix's best adaptation. The cast is wonderful, especially the Straw Hat crew. Lera Abova is absolutely stunning as Robin. The creators' respectful approach to the source material is truly commendable.

it has the benefit of having a very long story source. Alice in Borderland was similar except the story is short, and so they ruined S3 because the company of course wanted to milk their investments. I think the longest running anime/manga IPs have the best potential after this observation.

I love that they're going full in on the camp for the powers and outfits... I mean if you think this looks bad then it legit means the original anime looks bad too cause ( at least visually ) those characters look spot on and if they went too serious people would whine about it anyway
